  1. "Privateers are not permitted, under peril, to fly any colours usually shown by the King's ships but to to fly a red Jack with the Union Jack described in the upper corner." Well done with the custom flag. May plunder be bountiful and casualties light. GL
  2. The willingness of many to embrace a game that mimic the risk and reward of being whatever type of naval officer, during the age of sail in the caribbean. Or could also be, gear fear. A very often and modern way to put it.
  3. Same here. Glad the Master Forger did a good job. Spread the word.
  4. Go out and Epic Event until you get one. No one is going to sell theirs.
  5. Everything is fun as a joke It is a game after all 😎 Ok... Santas should be raining from the skies and everyone get one. Suddenly there's absolutely NO PROBLEM with dlc if it is a Cecilia frigate... but if it is the xebec rig everyone loses their mind... ...right... Laters o7
  6. Yes sir. It is one of the most coveted rewards.
  7. I'd say the Liverpool Packet privateer would be even more balanced - small, not menacing for the big boys - and perfect for DLC.
  8. She is awarded as it is now as reward from Epic Events and other similar content. She could, indeed, be also a reward for future Tournament cycles ? That would be great ! As DLC...? No. I vehemently disagree. Bring the USS Constitution 2018.
  9. That's why I do not recommend her. She is already in the game as special prize for Epic Events and similar content. Go get her.
  10. Love all of this, it is aimed exactly at the "average" NA player and it gives a sense of "belonging" to a thing bigger than themselves, as commanders of a vessel. Just let me tell something - a lot of player already use their imagination and do this daily with their friends - so the SOCIAL part is essential. No mechanics will ever be able to reach even close to what players can imagine together. ~S~ A little group of friends already will escort in your trade missions, guard your convoys, stick with you and defend you from raiders, etc. ( if they don't... *sigh*...) The mechanic just replaces a important social part, but i agree that it meets the average need.
  11. 100% My dreams of a proper credible simulation of the life as a captain in the west indies during the grand age of sail... Credible means to simulate all the risk and all the rewards. But too harsh a world for many if they don't rely on... secondary ways to enhance themselves... *sigh* As we have great captains that simply want to be armed by the Admiralty and do nothing but fight... .. why not make it so every reward ( except cargo hold loot ) acquired by combat is taken by the Admiralty ?... That way the DLC ships couldn't be used as marks factories. And the player acting commander of one of the DLC ships would simply do it for the combat glory. Nothing else.
  12. The angle of view must be aimed at the "average" in all things. and in that regard I am sure both options work perfectly. The main issue is the average seldom encounter each other. The aces were average once.
  13. Yep. Same thing, at least that's my perception, lots of running. Maybe wrong, devs should have their data.
  14. Idea to test if it promotes more fighting ( by having more chances to repair over the course of battle even against the odds ) and less running away all the time.
  15. That's where a "clan", "community", "band of brothers", comes in. Not "strangers". They will escort you, they will rear guard you, they will fight so you get out.
  16. Winged out, lateens to both sides, she would go more bow deep into water ? If correct this would provoke more pressure and reduce speed ? Thanks.
  17. I noticed after Monkey posted the damn pic... *sigh* locked
  18. Some poor privateers, I think was 2 of them ( unsure if from a yank or canadian vessel during the war of 1812 ), were knacked by aligators while swimming ashore, after their ship had a catastrophic accident involving gunpowder. ( sorry for off topic )
  19. Always liked the Wapen. Haven't spent enough time on the Inger, always come up against... adversities in the OW which end in a GG... o7... blublublub..
