  1. The two new ships rocked the status quo established by the metas. That's why so much cringing. Looking back to tests done, suggestions made, all of them point to make those two ships as viable as any other. I cannot stay indifferent to a P2W comment when it is not true @admin And yes, it propagates like fire and we have entire nation chats full of that - what color are the sails, red, p2w ***.... The same thing that can be done with a Hercules - hug the bow angled, get glued, out DPS the enemy, can be done with any other ship with more or less success. It is not a new thing, it just became more visible. DLC ships are a excellent choice for any player that wants to stay away from eco-craft, be it pve or caribbean server.
  2. is NOT pay to win ! Get over it. You can discuss the merits of having the ship note using the "rare" woods, but honestly, i mean honestly, do you think that is an issue !?!?! You have to sail out, you have to find targets, you have to engage. Exactly the same as I personally do with any other ship including the Privateer for far too long with absolutely similar results. Same as the ekranoplane Bellona fans do. Sorry, mechanics are blind to human passions.
  3. Thread to say goodbye, everyone reads, we all wave fair winds. No need to keep it open but the posts are all there. A forum can get messy with discussion everywhere and really hard to keep up. Keeping everything tidy helps everone. Redundant Topics will be closed. I see no problem here. There are developer's topic specific for Le Requin and Hercules feedback and discussion. Fair winds.
  4. Exactly That's what I meant. Do not touch variety across all ships. But privateer is not a ship, has only two masts 😎
  5. @Tiedemann I apologize if I wasn't clear enough. I am a fan of anything that promotes social interaction and player made canon and lore. OP suggestion enforces another player "diplomatic rulebook" into my gameplay. As I said, I rather have a NPC generated diplomacy from a deck of cards. It would feel more fair.
  6. Thank you for the head's up.
  7. I respect that view but I will respectfully disagree. Some degree of risk is needed alongside some measure of safety. Again, reinforcements are not replacements. NA is for players to play, not for AI to play. 100% safe is not the Caribbean server.
  8. Truth be told m8, if anyone has the most sober overview of something like that, it is you. And you've seen the worst of it...twice.
  9. Oh, but that's a question of planning, spending a bit of time with the new guys and also passing some cruise planning knowledge. Sinking is never ever a problem. It is the ultimate "end game".
  10. Team building and fun loving group of players. Not enough ? Okay, marks for all if they perform. Not enough ? Okay, entire convoys of indiamans full of goodies. Not enough ? Okay, captured ships for them to use so they don't have to craft so much. Not enough ? hmmm...
  11. There's plenty of captains out there i would follow into battle without a second thought, but not a single one that can tell me what i should or not do. I would rather put my faith on a virtual "Risk" deck of cards. Every 14 days 2 cards are drawn automatically for each nation. 1 with a allied nation 1 with a random enemy region to conquer ( all ports in the region )
  12. The Almighty tells me he can get me out of this mess, but he's pretty sure you're "done for".
  13. My character is immortal unless I decide to delete it. I nominate any new character I create once i delete this one, my heir. Praise the Emperor and pass the ammunition. I am joking, sorry Cetric. What I am trying to say is that the notion of Nation has moved, by popular demand, to a clan based system. We are private ventures hired by euro powers. All we have to do is pay tax and keep the NPC God Emperor happy.
  14. There's only one way to do things proper. Absolute power invested in me. No need for a council with daggers as smiles. Everything else will fail, can tell you that right now.
  15. Yeah, I find it confusing myself, but guess majority of old salty scarred veterans rather massacre newcomers than taking those newcomers on hunting trips or even conquest drives. So if you, or I, and friends want to prey on the Zone only Attack works, and you better be in the circle, else you cannot enter ANY battle. We better go hunt somewhere else... dunno... sail around and use the map. Personally ? Always felt the zones the weak link, but we have to live with them, they are here to stay. Took me months to sink that thought in... so why not make it more dangerous to the hunter ? He can still be daring and brave, he just doesn't have all the initiative all the time.
  16. I am sure devs hoped the playerbase to address this themselves by playing together, sailing together, fighting together. Alas we again prove that solo nature is stronger than playing together.
  17. Yes qw... a leap of faith... Let's provide the new generation with the tools to grow and change the Caribbean... Worth a test...another one...
  18. Reasoning the "why" not out there hunting across the map but going for the easy way is not a pleasure , sorry. Like the generation after Nelson became soft, so the new cadets out of the academy are now soft, becoming also soft hunters, soft conquerors. Need a push to forge them in iron. If not by making ALL nations hardcore, then making them 100% softcore, 90% protection and reliance on mates to help them safely. Also does not give the "pros" a silver plate in which to deliver inescapable ambushes. So they better go search quarry somewhere else more proper to their skills.
