  1. I do. They must be whipped, covered in tar and made walk the streets. While us, the average folk, play the average age of sail experience as intended with the risk it entails - in the pvp server that is - those fellows try to shortcut everything and will mess up the game, especially at Conquest level.
  2. Regarding the PBs the visible common variable is the BR. All shallow PB ships are 80 or less. That should be a clue that BR is indeed one of the indicators, as good or as bad as it sounds.
  3. Not for the average scenario, that is correct. ( nobody wants to be average, everyone wants to feel a Lucky Jack )
  4. Don't get too much riled up about it. It is discussion and feedback. Might clean it a bit of the off-topic though.
  5. Not exclusive to Xebec, which is what we are debating here.
  6. It is a cruel reality ( will disagree with Z. No axes gona save your bacon versus Miyamoto Musashi and other 4 slots ) Better plan ahead. Xebec can no longer carry force to push a bellona, frigate, etc. Only the captain allows. Deny the enemy their strength. IF they are forced into a hasty retreat due to gunnery, so be it. Can't chase, let them go.
  7. Not a fan of marks, but hey, have to accept design decisions. As I tend to make my age of sail experience as credible as possible ( think it kind of applies to my associates as well, so i can speak for them ) we do enjoy a lot the sail back to the corsair haven with the prize, mostly traders full of good stuff. I think the fence of "making your own experience" versus "gaming the game" will always be present and it fall on the player to decide which is more fun for himself. Levelling the output from both options is tricky design.
  8. Was not 4 princes ( if it is the situation you describe ) Was 1 privateer and 1 prince on his heels, two in the rotation perch ( wind ) some 500m to the wings. The Russian Empire frigates were going downwind chased by the GB frigates. He wasn't going anywhere. His choice of going to the fort wouldn't be the one i'd choose though. - Prinzapolka - GB xebec sunk by 1 privateer and 1 prince. Was tough build but went down. Wind was offshore. Batabano - spanish xebec sunk by 2 princes. Was not inside myself but xebec was bracketed ( very air combat simulator ) etc ( a lot of xebecs fall to 1 privateer 1 prince combo )
  9. Gotcha. Patrol Zone reward system applied to the OW. Okaaaa'y
  10. Will this make people stand and fight more ?
  11. I see absolute no crying other than the highly professional round the clock attacks on reinforcement/capital zones, but in truth it is not about the Requin. The Xebec just made sure that wound festered... There are plenty of "rp raiders" that use the ship in a credible form and we see little crying over it. http://forum.game-labs.net/topic/26631-if-we-have-to-live-with-reinforcement-zones-then/
  12. DLC is not a theme when we look at ship plans and ship history.
  13. Tested and reported all of that. Please try grape consistently into her deck and quarters. Thanks a ton.
  14. she is what she is. no ship is unbeatable a squadron might be a big challenge to beat. bring your own.
  15. The cannons she has are listed correctly by specs of the real one 😕 Same with the crew amount. She is hard to hit, but not impossible. You know her strengths and her weaknesses. Work on that. Overcome the "dislike dlc" factor. Treat her just like any other ship. Do not let that influence your performance in combat. - but, imo - 80BR is extremely low. But she is vessel capable of navigating shallows, so the shallows BR limit must be raised, to accommodate her being the top dog in shallows PB, and values reviewed for all ships. Her rigging is fairly strong ( but can be shocked ). She resists a lot of punishment if angled ( tested with cedar/cedar ).
  16. The higher the stakes the more varied the hands. Meta fleets will always exist, but the more pressure on the "order of battle" the more variety there is.
  17. read that again, and again, and again... how can a model, which goes by real stats be overperforming ? she goes by ... real and recorded and tested stats... ( if no magical stuff is used and only player efficience comes into play ) there's always a better bird, a better tank, a better ship... but sometimes, just sometimes, there's no better pilot, commander, captain.
  18. You provide a diametric overlook to the same problems by other means. It is fair and important as some aspects that "bridge" the two schools of thinking can be challenging as game design are concerned ( not code, but game design ) but it is possible. I totally get your approach and having a AH type of thing. In the end, in a full "premium" scenario, we would still use tickets or something similar. Shut down enemy ports, reduce them to "not available", etc. combat is what brings the most ppl together to NA, but what motivates them to go into combat is what makes us all different. we a herd of wild cats
  19. In a Sim, the love for the bird is what motivates most. The the learning, the fine tuning, the pure joy of doing the "mission for tonight" with squad buddies, the tinkering with the ammo type, or fuel amounts, etc etc etc. - the birds are to specs, as much as possibly by the software. You cannot re-engineer the plane. In NA, we are re-engineering our hulls, rig plans, and on top, making the "pilot" looking better than he might be through abstract knowledge. We pull the envelope of the "bird" in NA through stats, not through skilful use. Now add skilful use to a over-stats ship...
