  1. Youve got a 3 min join timer which is more than enough time to even give ships in port the possibility to join. It simulates whether or not friendlies are in range to help out. As for the repairs Im not a fan of endless repairs. I liked the system of one repair per battle better. Had to be careful when to use, strategical meaning. The Connie also broke off for a short time in the engagement vs the java to repair the most urgent stuff.
  2. If the games supposed to be hardcore and realistic i guess ganking with no or reduced revenge fleets should be considered as normal. There are other MMOs / MMORPGs where you only have one instance, not the two we have in NA and ganking happens regularly, without after a battle new players spawning / teleportinv in. (Example: Gloria Victis) If you dont like players being able to gank in an MMO, I hate to say it, you may be playing the wrong type of game.
  3. Obviously if they get you in open world in the first place, good on them, noone would be complaining. However since we've got two dimensions, 75x compressed OW in speed / size, and battle isntances, having to deal with fallout connies is as unrealistic / dumb as it gets. Name one other MMO where you've got those two instances, and can camp in the compressed one on a battle location? We've got a 3 min join timer to declare whetehr or not help is in range. 3 minutes is plenty.
  4. You think Port Battles is all what happened back in the day of the age of sail? No Frigate engagements? Think again. "Naval Action is a hardcore, realistic, and beautifully detailed naval combat sandbox immersing players into the experience of the most beautiful period of naval history" So your advice to the Java IRL would have been to call in for more mates to teleport in to finish off the Constitution, right? You dont HAVE to participate in RvR in an MMO if you're not interested in it. Some just find it lame. We show up with what we like to sail, and have good battles versus people also sailing what they want to. What happens after a battle is the result of having two dimensions, OW and Battle instances, and that not being thought through. You cannot, in a sandbox game, tell players what they MUST do.

  6. 30 sec invis. timer basically is a joke, I have explained my standpoint of revenge fleets multitple times and declared them as total BS, but I geuss NA is now favoring and trying to please the RvR audience more, so they could RolePlay and keep away pesky enemies, no matter if the mechanics allowing to do so make zero sense. Make a Compromise, e.g. 1.5 times Full Speed in any wind direction (as OW speeds are already messed up anyway) for 60 sec, and 60 sec invis timer. At the same time have a 'you cannot attack others' for 2 or more minutes in return, so you cannot use the Invisible timer as a cloaking device. Other than that I agree. Hard cap on a specific amount of knots is dumb, we need caps in percentages.
  7. Not quite What fox is asking for is 24/7 open battles where you NEVER have the overview of the battle situation. So random. A nightmare basically. In Arena it'll be clear what you're gonna fight from start. and balanced.
  8. I never said that I like the current system? I said I had a lot of fun in OW PvP in enemy waters, as a response to your question. However what happens after it, the revenge fleet BS, is another topic. I know you said you didnt like promoting ow pvp in enemy waters. So again. Where to pvp?
  9. "In no way do I think it is right or fun." Dunno really but Ive had quite a lot of fun in my ow pvp experience. Rookie Zone was a good idea, so noobs wouldnt get rofl stomped and quit after the first day. Not exactly sure why it got removed. In other games, you get an invulnerability status for the first few days / or maybe the first week you play. Somewhat exploitable in this game through alts, but maybe limit it to the date where you bought it on steam so you cant recreate the status every time you delete your char.
  10. You are risking getting sunk, if they get you in OW in the first place, without the need to create, in my view, "baby pvp" revenge fleets. 3 min join timer is plenty. Don't sail alone in an area, you should always be aware of the fact that any time you set sail you're risking your ship. In your opinion, where therefore ow pvp should be, if not in a nations waters?

Welcome to "Naval Action" where players can leave a battle which they already are outnumbering in to then simply group up with a bigger zergfleet, which can assemble outside the battle location due to the existence of two dimension, 1) compressed OW and 2) battle instances. I can't recommend this game to anyone at this state. Great gameplay! @admin
  12. so remove ow pvp, as all battles were taking place in one nation's waters? looking at how it is, pbs are already pretty much removed aswell due to the fact that you dont even need to fight for a conquest mark income atm, we had 2 proper pbs since the wipe lol early access gone wrong?
  13. Hence the 30 min 'you cannot enter PB' timer, and possibly a 10 min 'you cannot attack anyone' timer. IMO revenge fleets are way dumber than giving players the possibility to take a rest after a battle.

I agree But since we DO have communication in terms of teamspeak / ingame chat, and we DO have two dimensions (compressed OW and battle instances), a balance needs to be made. Basically we already have the 3 minute timer which should be more than enough for players in range to join. We just don't know yet how to deal with revenge fleets.
  16. I dont think you can call it an abuse to attack while outnumbering, even though I personally dont do it (if the game is supposed to be hardcore)
  17. A lot of ships will sail past but simply due to the fact OW is compressed and speed is boosted compared to battle instances I know we cant have battle speeds in OW. But as we have two dimensions, a balance needs to be found which is missing atm Do you want 90min open battles?
  18. I dont play this game for the rvr aspect but to have good battles. If the RoE dont allow that, I post my opinion. But I guess you are all right. NA now is a primary RvR focussed game with little to no space for dedicated pvp players (ganking doesnt have much to do with pvp imo). Hoping NA Legends will be better. Cant be bothered anymore to try and enjoy the sandbox version.
  19. Well then the ships at morant have 3 minutes to join the battle? Im fine with that But im not fine with the revenge fleets if it was proven for there to not be ships in range (3 min is plenty)

  21. Bruh I had a 1v2 (me in a cecilia vs 2 surps). They chained me to death so they could leave the battle and join up the other 8 guys they called for and which profited from the OW speed boost. Eventually they managed to kill me in a 10v1. Admin said himself, any time you leave port you should be aware of the fact tjat you can loose your ship. If you dont see revenge fleets being broken af and that not matching with the games description "hardcore and realistic", discussing is pointless
  22. Rules are simple If you were not in a reasonable range of a ship that got attacked, you cannot join the battle. After a battle the winning ship would sail back to port without having to deal with revenge fleets. As we have communication ingame there needs to be another workaround. I dont want to favor anyone but to have realistic and hardcore game mechanics as the game is advertised on the steam shop site
  23. Exactly, "enemy in sight" could be seen by nearby ships (NOT ships docked in port) so they could come and help. Hence the three minute timer. If you are simply not within 3 minute ish range of a battle, Why would you be able to join? Or be able to form a revenge fleet? So the java would have had to somehow communicate or send mail pigeons to get help which I dont think happened. Limiting the amount of pvp you can have because too much pvp is arcadey? Am I missing something?

Outside a capital that won't happen due to the fact that capital areas are populated and you've got a 3 min join timer which even allows ships in port to prepare their ship and join the battle, which would have taken way longer IRL. You can't find any pvp NOT in enemy waters (except becoming a revenge fleeter yourself, but nah). I have never had a single pvp battle in the middle of the ocean in no nations waters due to the fact that it's empty and no reason for anyone to be there. You should be able to attack ships without the enemy being able to create a revenge fleet IMO, because it's supposed to ressemble reality, and in reality the Constitution didn't have to deal with inteleporting ships after the Java surrendered to her. Game is advertised as hardcore.
