Big patch coming during next 1,5 week
Sir Texas Sir replied to Salty Sails's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
Just ask @Hethwill and the other ROVER guys just how effective the Cerberus can be in OW PvP. The problem is to many folks think bigger is better. I remember back on POTBS we us to take Van Horn Snow's out as a pack and take down rank 40-50 ships easly just for fun. Yes we loose half our ships while doing so but the challenge was to not only win, but to capture the ship too. So some one was walking out with a much bigger ship than we started. Now your pack size is growing. Niagara while a great ship in it's own has some other issues, less crew, less guns, less BR do start to take into play when your going against a bigger ship, but yes you can do the pack thing with Niagara's, but they are also very fragile, I seen Cerberus take a beaten a Niagara would never have withstood. I can prob name off a half dozen players on the server I seen use them to very effective means and I wasn't always on the winning side of those fights either. Yep that is why I liked the prince showed us we can do some multi deck mix of cannons if the devs wanted too. Interesting, but still couldn't find any real data on that ship other than that post, but the one posted has a lot less guns in the API files so not sure. The Dutch one I think had 26 - 24 lbs and 26 - 18 lbs so not a bad make up. We could use some more Frigates even in that class too. They really should make the paints multi ways to get like rewards chest drop in PB's and such so it's not just all who every willing to pay for them. I'll admit if they make them like ship knowledge where once I buy them I know that paint for every than I wouldn't mind them being DLC store items, but until than can we get some more in games please @admin just as loot chest until you do the prem store thing? It's so freaking bland looking at all these ships that look the same. -

I think one of the battles that got screened out or didn't show we had plans to bring something like 6-8 Princes for one reason. To circle jerk the crap out of the big ships that can hardly hit them. Yah one good broad side and they prob be sunk but as long as you have more Princes in the circle than they have ships your owning that circle....we might still try it again on a fun port battle for a deep water that doesn't matter. Just like we joke about bring all mortar brigs on both side and last man wins. Only rule is after we get in place and first shot fired you can't move other than to get in target range again. -

I would love to have more reason to have mix fleets. Like some ports have the third circle in a shallow area that only light frigates or shallow ships can get into. With Unity 5 they honestly have no excuse as they can extend the land under certain parts of the battle maps to rep shallows in game battle. -
Really wish some one would do an updated version of this. We got crafters that don't understand what base price for things are and seem to think they need to mark up ships 500% cost. That and I always enjoyed knowing the base price of things I make....

That so far looks like the best option for the ship since all the HMS Hercules where 74 gun ships. It's stated as being US or Russian built but doesn't seem there would be plans for it if they don't know who built it. Maybe it's just a test ship they never finished. Though having something like an Argentina ship would be interesting or even a proteges. I can see them doing the main in game ships of the main nations, but have some premium ships from other nations or variants of the main ships sailed by other nations with there own set paints. Armament 4 guns of 24 pounds 8 guns of 18 pounds 12 guns of 8 lbs 6 guns of 6 lbs 6 guns stone The 24 lbs and 18 are carros, while I assume the 12 8's would be our in game 9 lbs. Would be intrested if they did the split deck thing like the prince on this ship. While it might have 4 decks on papper you put the cannons on, but the model has it spread out so it's two types of cannons per deck. Remember the Cerberus is a 26 gun frigate and the Reno is a 30 gun so this would prob sit right between those two ships. Looking at the stats it seems like a more heavy gun (though lighter) Cerburas but that is more nimble and about the same HP. If that crew stays the same it would be like the Wasa with a lot of guns but not all the crew needed to man them. Whic would be it's weak point. Light ship version of a H. Rattler than. Says how? I seen tons of folks still use this ship for PvP and other things. Maybe not for the PvE guys, but there are ueses for the smaller ships and it's getting more and more seen with the BR limits of RvR battles where you can squeeze just one more ship in if it's smaller. -

PORT TIMERS
Sir Texas Sir replied to King of Crowns's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Actualy Mon - Friday I'm at work. Apparently you don't read my post. I stated I work 3rd shift so I'm at work from 9pm till 7am CST so miss out on a lot of play time except on the weekends. But I'm there a lot of times when others are heading to bed. Which is about the time I'm heading to work. Hell the only reason I"m getting some play time today is cause it was our company's day off instead of friday. Other wise I would be a sleep right now. -

I actually like this. gives reason to own a region and protect it over than just taking one port and holding it cause it's the only money maker or only one with a resource you need. that and we still need to give crafter credit for being what they are. Master Crafters really don't mean much when you can craft the same ship at level 25 and get the same result. They also need to sperate the crafting perks from the combat perks. RNG GODS hate me, believe me I go for weeks on time getting nothing but trash mods and rarely anything usefull from drops. Than you can't even sail them cause the shops are over flow with Barricades (which use to be rare) and other mods that flood the markets now by NPC drop not players sales. Than you still got the super rare drops like planking and a few others that I have never had dropped, only bought them off others. All my copper plating where bought or crafted. Than again I don't do tons of PvE grind either, but recently been doing it to open some mroe slots on ships I use to not use but now looking at and I'm still getting trash mod drops on OPEN WORLD ships that are suppose to drop best loot. Just killed a large fleet of 2-4th rates with my l'ocean and the best mod I got out of it was basic hull. Every thing else was repairs, or barricades/boarding guns and other mods that every one gets pretty fast. Why do I need them for the 100Th time and they aren't worth crap to sale to the shop cause it's over flooded with them. -

Whie I don't mind the basic hull and sail in the, but why am I getting a basic mod when I'm sinking a SOL? I don't even loot the ships in hostlitiy missions any more cause it's not worth it. That and RNG just hates me. PAINT CHEST for PB wins, return them...lol -

Stats tell you other wise what is the normal player prime time. For US based players is 7-9 CST when we have the most players on and than after that it drops off until server down time. It can offend you all you want, but it's still the fact you only fight in none prime time for the most part. Got home last night from the folks around 11pm and guess who was out side CT killing scrubs? Your clan. As for what you know or don't know want to know why you don't see me any more late hours. I HAVE A JOB. Something you seem to not have now a days. I just happen to work 3rd shift (9pm to 7am) which means for a CST player my prime time is early US time when the player numbers are the highest for that time. Than I go to work about the time most folks are going to bed and than I get home just as the SEA/AUS are going to bed and than I go to bed myself when the EU players are getting on. Pretty sucky times but I make it work on the weekends when I can play pretty much at any time. You don't do that, it's your time or no time and when you come out you do it in all BLACK style with the heaviest ships you can and crush anything in your path and than complain no one wants to fight you. I was telling those boys for a longest time tone down your play style and stop rolling in big groups and you will get more fights. Bragging about sinking a bunch of players that can't even manual sail half the time isn't very impressive even if your out number 2 to 1. Just the one screen shot posted about 75% of those guys can't even manual sail. We are working on this but it takes time. We where hoping for some decent fights in the shallows but the Brits ran from them, cause that would of gave guys more moral and not be afraid to loose ships so much. Many of these guys get sunk cause they try to sit back and snipe in a fight at a safe distance allowing them to get separated and picked off one by one. Than they run when every thing goes to hell. They have no confidence yet, that takes time, but they don't gain it when they are getting nothing but crushed every night they try to go out. Ya'll should of been in TS when they won EMPTY SANDY POINT, I kid you not the ASP boys which I remind you attacked Prussia and did the empty port battle cause they didn't have any clans on the friends list said. "YES WE WON WE ARE BADASS LETS GO FLIP RIO SECO." I left the TS room right than and went to do other things (like get a strong drink) came back and told them NO they will get slaughter and we will loose the rest of our coast line ports. These guy get all excited and rush out not thinking of there action. ASP is a pretty big and fast growing clan but they are all very very very green in combat. -
I feel you man I'm low tone deaf in my left ear and have a good bit of lost in both over all range. When there is a lot of clutter or folks talking at once I can't hear anything and I been port caller in the past so it's important that I hear certain calls. I do have all my game ambient, music and other settings either turned off or way low to help with this. We have had special needs players before in battles with us and if they can't hear us we have no problem getting some one to type the commands that the leader makes for the fight. Before I was caller I use to do this when we would have the randoms join port battles that refuse to use TS with us so I would type out the important commands for the fleet to the other players. Though another thing that helps is to have a buddy system. Or Wingman if one wants to call it that way, stick to him and he can hear the commands and act accordly. The good thing about being partially deaf is you can use it as an excuse why you didn't hear the SO say something.....lol....and no this does not work even when they know you can't hear for crap out of that one side...lol

Yep went through the ones still logged in and removed vsync and put three of them on OW and got 30-40 FPS which is about normal when I'm running multi games. I'll bring one online after the reset and it should be up to 60 by itself. Thanks figure it was something stupid I was missing or had reset it self.
-
I'll test it after down time, but I think you might of got it. I don't know why my vsync was on but just turned it off and the guy on OW went up to 31 FPS.

PORT TIMERS

We actually don't mind ya'll being down on the coast. When ya'll come up the coast you come in 2-3 mid tier ships and give us a good run for our money. We still loose a good number of ships but it's not toxic, it's not every night/day and we even some times get one or two of ya'll too. Those are good healthy fights. -

Have you been to CT? There is not reienforcements when you come out of the habor. So there is a big dead zone to either north or south you have to run and get tagged in before you get back into the reinforcements zone. Every wonder why ever one comes up there and farms CT? Oh we will come out and fight and many guys do, but don't cry when you farm the crap out of it and folks stop coming out to fight back when all they do is get sunk over and over and over again. Just look at most of the screen shots from French, Prussia, Pirates, GB that come up to CT. Most of them they are out number and slaughter every ship to the last one. That doesn't encourage people to play. Most of these guys are all in the same time zones and refuse to fight each other most the time. Funny how the elite only fight the weak...... And yes we did this on GLOBAL as BLACK so I know all about it, we farmed the crap out of the US and GB capitals until they stop logging in and than e got bored and stop logging in also. It doesn't work so we need to stop repeating this. But I want to give props to all the US players that keep going out and keep getting sunk and keep trying. They got heart, they got numbers, but they just need time to learn how to not get sunk every time. They been given so much bad info by the same bad folks that don't RvR/PvP and don't have a clue. It's not going to happen over night, but if they can be given some breathing room US can prob in some time give back some good fights. -

Sir Texas Sir replied to King of Crowns's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Back on global the best way for other nations to stop the fights when it was based off PvP only was just not to show up and than it was murder to grind the AI. I think right now the system is better than it has been, though we could do a patrol thing where you gain the points slower, but all you have to do is sit in front of the port to gain them? That would maybe draw more folks out to fight. The other problem is there is no way to get hostility down unless you fight...if they run it up to 99% and than go into hidding you can't kill any one to bring it back down. All they have to do is kill one noob and the port if flipped and you never will know it happend. There really needs to be a way to counter agro other than PvP. Patrol missions would work great for this. If a nation doesn't flip a zone fast than you can go to that port and sit in front and patrol it and it will lower the hostility, but very slow rate. Bring back the loot chest with some mods mats in it with a rare chance at something good like a Mod or ship not of that class. Also bring back paints since they aren't OP and it gives folks that PvP/RvR somethign to trade with the none PvP/RvR guys. -
PORT TIMERS
Sir Texas Sir replied to King of Crowns's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
The timers and cost aren't bad once you get things figured out. US lost a lot of ports last week mainly cause of mess ups on parts of certain clans and it cost us most our coast line ports. We only now have three left. Would of been nice if the brits fought back in the shallows instead of running up our coast and grabbing bead clan drops in off times we couldn't defend or gain cause they have a more EU early morning player base compared to the US nation. Now all those ports are in crappy timers when we don't have a large plaeyr base unless we do it on the weekends. Which means your only going to get one or two port battles a weak from us so don't expect a lot of battles. We will keep or battles to the shallows and weekends until we get our nation more organized, but if they keep getting farmed to death in front of the capital moral will go down and you won't get fights there either. -
PORT TIMERS
Sir Texas Sir replied to King of Crowns's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Dude I'm central 2am port battles is to late for most normal folks even on west coast which would be midnight. Your timers are set when most normal folks in US of all three time zones go off to bed cause they have to work in the morning. As for loosing ports? What ports have WO lost recently? I can think of 1 or two none important ones, but if anything you gained a few ports recently. Don't be counting the other french ports, but the ports you lost was cause of the location and no timers. Now who lost ports a lot was RSC lost 13-14 ports in the Bahamas, but they also had retarded way early port timers for every one but the AUS/SEA players and that was late for them. I get you want to be protected, but you set your ports in a time zone you only have as play base in and than complains no one will fight you. There is a reason we have all the none important shallow ports open. We want folks to attack us and have fights and than flip them back after wards if we loose them. That is called content. We also hope folks will set the off times flips for weekends where EU and US time zone players can join the battle best, it's more an honor system, but we all ready know folks like you and your clan will come and do some off hour flip when we won't be able to have numbers and a good fight. Any one thought it was funny they defended there lower east coast port over a major econ port for the nation causing them to loose Estros than to let there own port go into a PB the next day and than defend it. I bet if WO/BLANC had showed up to Estros they would of been able to defend it. Than showed up to the port battle the next day to defend there own port they prob would of won that one too as US players for the most part just aren't up to par for the deep water big ship fights yet. Hard to train them when folks sit our side your capital all night killing newbs. New players that want to try, but get frustrated and than stop playing after loosing half a dozen ships or more to guys like KoC and his crew. I know we use to do the exact same thing with BLACK on global and than wonder where all the players went. You can't over farm your victims and than expect them to keep throwing ships at you. Sooner or later they will just stop logging in and playing any more. -

You know that EULA from steam you have to click on every couple of months when they do some update. It says you can't do any of those things and this is a steam only game so it falls under that, but most games when released will do there own. I would like to see you win that case in court....also why they don't do a perm for ever ban, it's only until the game is released cause you paid for that released product after all. -
As the tag said recently (think after the last windows update I did last week) I been getting really bad FPS in OW. LIke down to 2-6FPS when I normally get around 40-60 with three to five games going at once, but I get the same low FPS with all games shut off but the main one. When I check my task manager the game is using insane amount of Memory and GPU. It's never used so much before as this game actually runs a bit on the low side for most games. I'm running: i7-4720HQ CPU 2.60GHz clocked at 2598 MHz so not over clocked 16G Ram 980 with 4G ram (through Alienware graphics amplifier as it has a 980M on board). Windows 10 Pro (10.0.16299) I run the game on the Laptop 17" 4K monitor but have two 27" 1080p Monitors set up too on the side. My ping is normally 140 and it seems to be staying the same lately. I normally get around 60 FPS in OW and it will drop down to 40 in battle unless it's a big 25 vs 25 SOL port battle I seen it drop to like 20 when a lot of tolks are shooting so it can handle the game and that is normaly with 1-2 other copies running in the back ground. Now I can't even run one copy and I'm still getting the low FPS in OW and battle. It's making it where I haven't been able to really get out and play the game other than to log on and do econ the last couple of days. If any one else having these problems and found a solution let me know.

actually when you bought the game you signed/clicked on a EULA agreement with Steam. You can look this up, but it's never mention again other wise. It's like that with just about every game out there that is released. Some of them will have you update the EULA once in a while (MMO's are big on this) just to cover there arse cause yes folks have sued and very rarely have they won though. Since this game is not a full release they have to only follow the steam EULA which covers things like cheating and exploiting by the way. Than they just set up guide lines post in one location (the forums under game/forum rules) and that is it. They don't have to make you go read them to enforce them. That is why they can only ban you until the release of the game and than you get your playing privileges back. Upon release the game will move into a new status and I will bet you will have to sign a in game EULA when you log into the game that very first time with the new set rules. -
I checked this when I saw it mention in game and he's all ready switched. @HachiRoku Good luck on your new adventures. I think it's been good the past month many clans/players have moved around nations and such to try something new instead of doing the same thing over and over. I mean it's not like we need to stay these nations when the game release so lets move around some and try out new things. Again best of luck over on the other side of the map.
-
No it doesn't just like it doesn't tell you if I have you on ignore. Though would be nice to see those folks that are banned but than how would you even know they are in game? It's not like if he's a team mate ya'll aren't just going to chat in TS/Discord or what ever any way. Chat bans really don't do anything other than separate the trouble maker from the rest of the game chat wise.

Can you tell who ever is messing with my game/net to stop than? I'm getting like 2-6 FPS and my memeroy usage for the game is 70% never been like this and one game open only when I can normally run 3 open with no issues all 5 pushing it...got to be some april fools joke, or more that recent stupid update Id id with windows lol
