I wonder how to get more crew on board my ship.
Sir Texas Sir replied to PinBar's question in Feature proposals and Gameplay Help Q&A
Hammocks ship knowledge is one way. Light Hammocks perm mod (only light ships/shallow can use them). The Cramp or Very cramp crafting perk. Crafting a ship with crew space. There are multi ways to get more crew. Remember some of them gives you a penalty to moral when in boarding. If you ever hot racked with some one one a ship or any type of duty you would know why it lowers the moral. Splitting a bunk with some one else that works the opposite shift as you blows. Remember when you use RUM in battle it only brings you up to the crew count you had at start of the battle. RUM can be used in OW along with any extra crew you have in reserve. As for trading ships you both have to be in a port that you both own and have an out post in and than you just trade the ship. You can't be in the ship when you trade it to him or it won't show as an option. -
The Rule Book
Sir Texas Sir replied to RedNeckMilkMan's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Yep you have to follow STEAM rules from there EULA and the game can set up it's own rules. That is why they can only ban you from the EA time and not after game release cause than they are going to fall under other rules and such. This game doesn't need any official rules and EULA until it is released. You are part of an EA Alpha Development of a game, so yes ADMINS or other Dev words are the rules even if they come up with the ruling on the fly. Maybe if folks wills top being pricks and such to other players and actually stop breaking the rules they wouldn't have bans right now. The main rules are listed in the forums and have been posted by many of us over and over and over. What more do you want? You mention a PDF @RedNeckMilkMan I don't know hardly any games that has PDF/manuals any more. Yah there will be an EULA but other than that they post the rules in one place which tends to be the official forums for that game. -
Crew resistance
Sir Texas Sir replied to Aster's question in Feature proposals and Gameplay Help Q&A
Normally when they leave something alone it's good not suck...maybe he wants to have less crew resist or something? -
It use to give you -xp which didn't mean crap for some one all ready Rear Admiral cause you can never loose rank/XP once your made that rank, but some poor low level char or alt that just happens to stern rake a boarded ship. Set it on fire and when they come out of boarding blows up. Killing a few team mates in the act. Getting out of the battle at -1765 xp when you only needed 1500 to make rank....Yep this happen to my alt an after explaining it hurts low level players more than the green on green abusers they removed it. Though for the events it would be a good test to find out if green on green could count so we check to see if there might be a bug that needs to be fixed if it does count.

Since it seems folks don't read the dang patch notes when they come out. To be exact scroll down to this part of the patch notes.....2 of which could be acquired in game by other means. So folks assume they are PvP note ships most likely and we know the API list of ships in game and being worked on so most of use assume (remember we won't know until they came out) the two are prob all ready in game and can be gained through PVP marks. Most games has two means to get content that is sold for real money or gained by doing PvP content. So tell me what ships aren't in game that could be soon? Not many cause they aren't working on ships right now. How about we just not worry about it until the dang ships are premium? Plans for March/Early April Integration of the open world UI into the game Finalization of tutorial Premium ship pack containing 3 ships (2 of which could be acquired in game by other means)

Patch notes at login screen
Sir Texas Sir replied to Farrago's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Was going to say the log in needs to be updated, but yah this is a good point even if it just a message telling them to go to the forums to read the new patch notes would be good each time there is a new patch.- 3 replies

I all ready had several aggis that I built, but with 5 chars and 2 aggy's per account that is 10 that I never redeem before the merge and didn't have doc space for so I made them and sold them. I have over 5 captured L'oceans that I was glad to get the mods off with the merge and I sold them too cause they would of took up to much dock space to keep after the redeemable wipe. Not to mention most of those where pre perk craft/note ships so didn't have chance of the little extra when I opened them. Have you open all your doc space? it gets expensive when you start to get up there past the dozen mark...even with mulit accounts to use for dock space lol The way I saw it was if I gave them to other nation players for cheap than that got them out there to fight more, which more meant gave ya'll free PvP marks with how half these guys fight......

Prob cause those Carros would tear up any none super frig or above, while it had the 24's on the lower deck to handle equal or larger ships. Though I'm kinda surprised we don't have a French 4 th rate in game though, we pretty much have many other french ships. Wonder how those three new ships are coming along. The Spanish 3rd and the others they been working on....I think I'm needing new ships since we aren't getting paints any time soon @admin just drop a paint chest to every one to shut me up about paints....please;)
-
That honestly did suck cause I didn't really notice how many ships I had over all accounts until I had to redeem them and expand docs. Luckly I put many of them on the market for very cheaply fair priced 4th and 1st Rates that the nation could use, it actually drove the market price down a bit on those ships. Of course made my money back for dock space I had to open up too. PS thanks for all those free Aggy's. Nope it will be like the Yacht, redeemable every so often (yacht I think is every 2 days). I assume the premium ships will work much the same. You get to redeem them every so often to get a new one. I assume the higher the rate the longer you have to wait between each redeem. They said it was two ships we can all ready get and one that is not gainable in game. My bet is it's going to be prob the Wasa/L'hearm and maybe the Sc, but the GUNBOAT and Rattler could also be one of the three.

Yah nothing worse than some one wanting you to build a ship and it takes up your dock space as you keep missing each other to give the ship to the person that order it.
-
Loose some ships and you will have more room. Though if we where to get anything dealing with ship slots I would love a clan dry docks that we can put ships into and hold when crafted and than give to players that needs them. That way the crafter doesn't have to be online the same time. Craft ship, put it in dry dock, than new owner picks it up later.

hostility mission
Sir Texas Sir replied to King of Crowns's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
You know how you solve that problem? By having fights in some place that isn't going to break you or them like the shallows. I actually was going to see if we can get one port that isn't important and fight over that between multi nations. Something that folks aren't going to have a cow about if it's flipped. Winner keeps it until the next weekend and the next nation/clan flips it. Keep the timers open but only flip it for weekend port battles so that more players can fill slots for any of the prime times. Since it's not an important port if you loose it for the week or two it's not a hit on any econ or such. -

That was pretty much what showed up at Marsh by the screen shots I saw was those players. They want content too it seems. -

Not meantion the new pen/thickness changes some ships do better in missions than others. I was struggling with a Pavel vs Pavel, but when I did Bellona vs Bellona/3rd I had no issues. Than again the pavel char had no combat persk either. I think the 3rd rates are kinda the sweet spot. I did the math and you can flip a port with 5 Bellona's in a group doing three missions. If you have more it cuts the missions down so you should be able to flip a port easily with a group of 10 and two missions at that level. That and learning when to spawn in. The first time we flipped a shallow port we had a mix fleet of 6th rates to 2nd. Some of the big ships spawned right on top of the light ships with AI and they where almost lost instantly. Apparently some of the US still think it's smart to bring AI fleet with them to do hostility missions. I yet to see one that actually lasted through the missions. AI fleets tend to be a crutch that get in the way of other players.. -
hostility mission
Sir Texas Sir replied to King of Crowns's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Are you could of pushed the tagger away from the rest of the fleets, let them exit and than by than he would prob leave alone the ships used to push him away from the rest of the fleet. You had 10 ships after all not every one of them had to leave at the same time and you even stated there was a port close by y'all could of ported up and stayed in until the other guys got out. -
hostility mission
Sir Texas Sir replied to King of Crowns's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
That is why we plan things to make sure every one has repairs and we pick missions off the beaten path so that they won't see it. You know a Bellona does 6.5% hostility not sure how you only got 25% with only 10 1st rates, that should of put it to 50% or more. That in the past and hope ya'll learn maybe bring a mix fleet next time. Might get better fights. Well every one have fun at the port battle cause I'll be at work during that time tonight. Was really hopping it flipped early cause Than I could of made it (it starts when I'm heading into work). If any thing French with the fight and we get to take it back, we can make sure it goes to an active clan that isn't going to drop it's port timer when it's war war three along the coast line that weekend lol. -
hostility mission
Sir Texas Sir replied to King of Crowns's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Oh so more you ran out of time almost cause you got distracted during the window? Who the hell goes back to port to repair when doing hostility? You bring enough repairs, repair up in battle, jump out and tag a new mission and be done with it. No wonder ya'll took the whole 3 hours windows to do it. I mean between going back to port to repair and the squirrel momenet (ADD/SHINY STUFF) of going off to kill brits and your blaming us for using tactics that folks us in real life against a much bigger force to slow them down. Every heard of skirmishers and LIght Cav? That is there whole purpose is do hit and run and tie up the enemy unitl a bigger force can engage or to get important stuff free from danger. When did we mulitiflip open timers? Octo flip was done cause of your early morning off times port timers that a lot of folks didn't like on the forums, that was the only time you where multi flip and we didn't even plan to win a fight just tie ya'll up with the ones we flipped. Those ports where all set in your timer so don't try to play the nightflip open timer thing. We than keep our attacks to the weekends and your timers until you dropped the ports timers and pretty much told every one you wheren't keeping the ports. That was when we flipped them in our time and did most of them with little contestant. The sad thing is the one ya'll did contested we had good fights and even lost a few before you just gave up. That was the whole point of attackign shallow water ports cause the ships are cheap to replace, most the ports don't mean crap (hint why we won't put timer on most of them) and it incourages content for players if they have a place to hunt and fight multi nations. We had no plans to attack any of your ports in the South Bahams or STS port (Crown Haven, but some other US clan might attack it). We want ya'll to have ports in that area so folks can do shallow water fights and PB's back and forth over none important ports. Instead you get your panties in a wad and roll up the coast in 1st rates and attack deep water ports which we have not attacked any GB deep water ports for that very reason. To keep the fights in the shallows where folks can enjoy the fights and not fear lost of expesive ships. Than once they get more confidence you move to the frigates. Funny you mention TDY and TURN. Did you see any TDY at the port battle or out side screening? Not a single one was logged on and I don't think I seen more than two or three since I been in US nation for a month now. YOu actually doing us a favor flipping the port to get it out of there hands. Why you think RAM was dropping those ports? They don't play any more and we needed to get them back into active clan hands. That is your so call prime time EU nation. TURN, other than Draxx and maybe one other guy the same, we don't have a big EU player base other than the MAD guys from Germany and even that is only couple guys only. Would love to have more EU players to be honest, but saddly we don't have them. That is why our timers are set to US prime time even for the TURN and well TDY port. Cause that is our player base main prime time. -

But see thy stopped took a break and than try to pop it closer to the later time of the window and that was the battles we keep them in for the whole timer. If they just came in did the missions and be done they would of had it flip before we could get ships out there. They where trying to draw us out into a fight when we didn’t have the numbers of decent rat d players to attack them without loosing all the ships as normal. Guys are tired of trying to stop SOL to only all get sunk. -
Like I told some one that wanted to se his crew load the guns and have them recoil. Why are you looking at your crew in a fight? My attention is on my team mates and the enemy crew not watching my crew stroke guns. Give a shaded circle around my ship on the mini map is all the indicator you need to know you are too close.

Sir Texas Sir replied to King of Crowns's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
And just for the record we aren’t complying about the fights as it was expected from the Prussians for the empty attack and the GB who didn’t want to defend there shallows, but the French are just being cowards going for the throat while we are knocked on the ground and trying to get back up. -

Sir Texas Sir replied to King of Crowns's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Did we even go into the first one? I know we can flip them in two missions with big ships. Sounds more like they did the first agro and Than waited to the last minute to top it off only to have folks join to slow them down. We also bring mix fleets not just 1st rates. I mean t all ee been hit by three nations this week still in last place but every one thinks ok to take our ports instead of fighting each other and you wonder why we pull out new tricks to try to stop a flip? this is wh no one likes KOC and his group. They still flip the port and cry. maybe we should do an octoflip on the French since they are so bored? -
Cannon Crafting Bonuses
Sir Texas Sir replied to Slim McSauce's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
I want to know why cannon crafting doesn't give you any crafting xp? Same with I think most of the mods that you craft give you zero xp. I set up one of my chars after the wipe to do this and than found out it gave zero xp so had to change his crafting to ships to level him up. Pretty much the only way to level up crafting is by ship building and very slowly by building mats. Crafting system really went down hill when they changed it and needs some love. That is why I mentioned in the past crafting perks and crafting ranks should be sperated from Combat perks and earned on there own through crafting leveling. -
back when you had to own a region to get the region bonus on crafting I think we had more fights cause folks wanted to own those regions. I could see something like that returning. They have 25 ports that are special, they could put the RNG of crafting those ports to include the bonus you can find on AI captured ships into crafting in thsoe ports or make it the bonus you get. Than folks will want to own those ports to get that bonus.
-
Yah but that can be added later, the main thing is the Money withraw/deposit and resources is very much needed.
-
Great news and it's just the little thing that helps. Later more can get added even after the game is released, but these where things that where really really needed for clans to work. The money needs to be withdraw and deposit. I liked the example some one gave, "6 players said they put 1 million into the bank, but there is only 5 million in the bank, which one is the liar?" While we should have trust issue with our clan members, but folks are human and folks like to keep their shiney penny's and not share them, but if just a few guys are supporting the clan but every one is taking from it, that clan will fail pretty fast. I think the last 25 transaction for both is a good limit. The other day it was mention like 1 days worth which can be bad if some one stole it one day and it wasn't noticed until the next day or two. Though unless you have a lot of transaction 25 should be plenty to show a log of the latest transactions for both money and Mats.
