  1. As for raids we been asking for them but not at a level as your speaks that hurts players, clans and nations. Raids can be used a short ownership of a port that you stop production from for a few days, lets say 3-5 days at most as 7 is way to long. While owning that port from the raid the clan would get goods that would normal produced. As that is typically why some one raids a place. Port battles should reward a chest but why would a raid? Your chest maybe would be the goods you gather for that 3-5 day raid nothing more. The cost to the owner is they can't use that port production while it's traded. Making it cost more would just turn folks off to the mechanics even more and the whole goal is to get folks away from the protected zone right?
  2. Yah I think it's funny he hides all his own ports in very bad timers (1 am in the morning for US players) and than talks about flipping folks off hours. I have yet to see him do a proper port battle in some ones timer and win. Was kinda hoping he got the one they tried to flip tonight cause of being pissed off from being screen out of being screeners early tonight. Sadly I wouldn't of made it cause that is my work night. How much any one want to bet he will be out side in large ships for the shallow PB's we have with the Brits tomorrow or in nothing but Hercs trying to screen us out of a good fun fight with the Brits? H'es very much a very sour player when he doesn't get his way. I wonder if he even though this through cause of all the ports his own clan now owns with no timers.....trash ports are there for a reason without timers. It can go both ways if something like this was put in game. We would see him drop a bunch of those ports real fast. One of these days we are going to just get sick of his crap and all stay up late and hit his ports any way, he just doesn't know when that will be. Though I think it's funny as we notice he looses more and more folks at that time he comes on here trying to change the rules more and more.
  3. We will see 20-30 days is plenty of time to get out there, loose a few ships, make some more and burn up those stock piles if need be cause we can always replace then. I think folks should hold there comments until the said list comes out about how bad it might be. I'm sure it's going to be a lot less painless than they think. Pretty much what Salty said above this is an EA of a game still in Alpha phase of development but very close to moving on to Beta and than maybe release in the near future. We are expected to have wipes. Hell I had expected a bout a couple dozen of them over the past 2 years but we only really had 1 big one. This is coming from some one that has to deal with 2-3 clan warehouses of mats along with a few other players in my clan that have very larger stock piles of stuff. Don't see us complaining now do you?
  4. The only problem it was lobby PB's so it was a pool of who had the most points collected and you can collect points over time not just the day the port was flipped. You also could raise the points by doing trade goods too. Hostility took a whole day or two to gain not short time. While I like the concept but it was a different game too and while it had goods it had bads too, but it's something we can look at why our system might not work as well as folks think. Or why they need to understand Reinforcement Zones aren't as bad as they sound and capitals should not be PvP camp zones.
  5. Hell some can say POTBS was a good example of PvP/PvE mechanics. You can only PvP in the red zones. Little circles every one can tag each other (well not your own nation) and big circle only pirates and privateers can tag. The only way to get a red zone is to put agro on a port, when it hit a certain level it got the big circle. The circle stayed until the port battle happens or the agro is removed. The rest of the map was all PvE safe zones. The PvPers would go flip certain ports to make there PvP and folks knew where to go, every one else just did there own thing.
  6. Within reinforcement zones you get a 3/5 blue ship with chance of extra perk only. Out side you get any thing up to the 5/5 gold ships in clan owned ports. Certain ports should have option to also get these extra perks that we only see on AI ships only. Give folks incentive to craft out of the "SAFE ZONES" and a reason for clans to own ports out side of them. Hell back when we had to actually own a region to get special trims there was more fights over those regions. Now no one fights cause you can get every thing in the same home ports. Shipyards can only be put in Nation owned ports. This should go for workshops too. Workshops should be needed to craft mods and refits. This means you have to take the goods out of a port and back to your own nation port if you want to convert it to a mod/refit. No workshop or shipyards in free towns, sorry folks you picked those hard core nations after all, buy or steal your ships if your nation doesn't own a port. I like that you pay 20-25% in the perm ports of a nation over clan owned ports that should be allowed to set there tax's to 0-20% if they want too. Base tax in all none perm ports is 10% other wise. I state 20% max for player ports so that they are always going to be better options over perm nation owned ports to do trade in. If you want to make that extra 20% you loose on tax's than do your trade in other clan owned ports. Other wise you can stay in the safe zones. My honest view is cause they are to lazy to go get there own content. Every one of these so called PvPers that complain that RvR is dead have yet to attack each other. When was the last time you seen WO have a port not set to 1am port battle timer when most folks are in bed? If they want a port battle they would put ports in a window when folks will fight them. Other wise they need to stop complaing about lack of RvR. This goes for any other nation/clan. As for PvP this is linked to it too. You want PvP why haven't we seen WO go flip a Prussian port? That will be a sure way for them to get PvP, believe me we tried it a few times. IT's the same way we get them to come out is hit a French port and they come crawlling out of the wood works. So if you want that so called lacking PvP than go hit another elite PvP clans port and I'll promise you will not have a lack of PvP, but these guys won't, they are to lazy and just want to farm the easy fights. If they are so good than they should be fighting each other. Ok now to something interesting. Take a look at this picture below folks. This is a screen of the map on POTBS I found on the web to show you something. That game was the same as ours with a PvP/PvE server, but we have it backwards. The whole map is a PvE zone until you put agro on a port and it gets a red circle. That circle gets bigger the more closer you get to getting it flippedand set into a port battle. The little circle means any one can PvP with another nation in those zones. The big outer circle means only pirates and Privateers can start the fight. This worked great for a long time and the game had a lot of players, they started out with many servers but eventually had to down size it like most games, but it was a formally that worked. Cause the majority of your players want to just play the game and have fun and explore and do things (that game also had content in missions to do which helps). Though the concept of PvP is the same for us in the fact if you want PVP go flip a FREAKING PORT AND YOU WILL GET IT. Even if it's not screening or in the port battle you will get it. Don't flip an empty port with no timers on some odd time cause that won't get you PvP/RvR. DOn't set your timer to when hardly any players are on cause that won't get you PvP/RvR either. Put your timer right in prime time and show folks you got balls and want to fight or attack a port in that time and bring it.......that is how you get PvP/RvR folks. I do think that we could get the red circles around ports with agro would be nice so that on top of Combat News we can see on the map the hot spots. Make it give incentives when the red zone gets bigger. First circle you get a small boost to xp/gold, bigger circle you get a bigger boost over normal OW fights. The big circle shows up when the port battle is set. It stays on the port until the port battle is over. Than it goes back to the little red circle which remains until the port is off cool down. Meaning those areas that have port battles become hot spots. With this map I basicly wanted to show that what little "safe zone" we have is nothing compared to other games. Just about every MMO I have played on that had PvP had a very small zones for PvP only, most of the rest of the game/map was PvE. So we have a very diffrent flip of a model here that seems to not be working prob cause to many areas folks can PvP at. Maybe we need to change it to restricted PvP zones and see how that turns out, you can only PvP in the red zones? I bet you find that certain areas will be red. With that why not make all free towns PvP event zones. Owning ports next to them is a risk, but they are suppose to be your PvP hot zones 24/7.
  7. Would say wait for the UI to drop than that would be a great time for any of the talented guys can make some great videos for the game. Many a things need updated videos of. Hopefully when it drops we will see more vidoes from folks like @Revi and many of the other guys that stream. Also enjoy watching other folks videos they post.
  8. Basic cutters should not be able to join any missions other than ones they start any way. They are for new players and guys that don't have ships not RA trolling folks. That would stop the use of them trolling. They can be in groups that do missions and get pulled in or start missions them self but they can't join late. I was actually going to suggest the decay effect in the other thread about how to deal with briefing players. If they have done zero damage in the fight have it actually start early they begin to decay, forcing folks to actually fight and not kite in those battles. As long as your doing damage every 5 mins of some type you won't take the damage hit. I wouldn't make it drastic at first but the longer you go without doing damage the more damage it does to your ship. While having ship classes is fine, but limiting them from fights other than the Basic cutters which should not be apart of any PvP and I feel should not be able to even join missions after they start is not fair. I done a good bit of killing folks in LGV's in the past before the wipe thinking they got an easy target until they find out I was gold modded board fit with Gold Marines or I wasn't AFK sailing and I was sitting there sails down with 100% board prep lol Now we have the LGV Refit which is a combat trader. So limiting them from not entering battles isn't fair, and what about the guy that brings repairs along in a trade ship that joins the battles and leaves the repairs on a captured ship that isn't claimed so folks can stock back up? It's a legit tactic in battles if your staying out fro a long time. If the decay damage for not fighting isn't put into the patrol missions than this would prob be the second best option allowed to help fix issues with players doing these type of things. Though I honestly like the decay damage thing better. Punish folks that just come in to troll. Hell put in both since the kitter is getting decay damage he can't leave and will be stuck in there until his ship is sunk or every one leaves
  9. He would be a good voice for the SAE/AUS players even though they are very small part of our player base we still got a good number of them, but sadly he’s not active as far as I know currently.
  10. Would be nice if they start with the French and Indian war though than they can go on from there and so many battles and war around that time too. I would love to see some more battles added to UG:CW too like the Battle of Pea Ridge (had family fight in that one).
  11. I some times wonder how they pic Mods, we have had them in the past just pop up no one ever seen the player before and they act like they know every thing when they know very little of the game, or they are to busy doing there own RP actions to actually mod when folks get out of line. I would like to suggest while we are on the topic look at national Mods that are active. Each nation should have one or two mods to help keep chat clean and folks in line or even answer the simple questions that get asked all the time. Hell up till the wipe global pretty much never had an active mod and than after the wipe the two we did have (I heard there was a third) either was busy playing and doing there own thing than they just stop showing up. The only time I seen a MOD now is during EU time for the most part it seems the only active ones left in game. So should look at some US time zone players and even hay the poor SEA/AU guys. This goes the same for any CR's. They need to be a few guys from the two main player times with maybe one or two off times representative for the SEA/AU players. Hell even that dead server PvE that prob should just be merged into one server until they get to being free to come up with PvE content and stuff for that server. As much as I have clashed with @rediii I would say he would be a good pick for CR cause he has actively posted a lot of good suggestion, changes and feed back. As have the other, but the issue is some of them are not active right now and if they are to be CR's they should be active in game and on the forums too. I think a lot of folks honestly forget all about this is a game in development and we are just that player testers until it's released. A lot of stuff they avoid doing is cause the majority of the player base forget this. I'm still surprised we don't have wipes more often to be honest or map resets, but to many folks complain.
  12. Hell I have my own clan within our clan, as we have a separate clan for crafting cause you know how fast you can fill up that maxed out warehouse? Very fast...lol Just remember you can still put up a contract back in the capital for said goods and have folks fill them or any port around those clan own ports if your not on the friendly clan list. Though I would say this list would be sperated from the 15 limited RvR clan list so you can set it and leave it alone. Also the clan that owns the port can put up there own contracts that you can buy from and not restricted from. The restriction is only to limit alts, none friendly clans and other nations from putting up contracts. I hear folks complain about alts all the time and this is just a suggestion that would limit the use of them to get around nations. Remember I have 5 myself but they are all in US nation right now. Back when I played pirates on GLOBAL I had 4 in Pirteas and one in Dane to trade with our Dane alliance and fight beside them when they did port battles since pirates couldn't have allainces a few of us had Dane alts to help them out. So I never been one to use alts to get around nations other than when we where hurting and almost one ported I did have that char in US for a time to craft. The number one use of alts is to get rare goods you can't get normally so limiting these contracts will limit that. By the way no one promised you 100% of the game, you have to fight to get that content and if your not going to be involved that your not going to own those ports any way. Look at just about ever nation there is one or two big clans that own the majority of the ports. Why should they not get some benafict from owning those ports? Paying for timers and such gets very very expensive too. Paying for the ships they loose patrolling and defending those ports cost too, but if they are set up right they shouldn't have a problem. They should get more control over there ports and who uses them. This game is more a clan based game now than a nation one. If you want to have every thing you got to play all the games content. If you don't want to do RvR than you don't get the Benafict of RvR clans owning ports, you can use the safe zone ports. Most clans prob would not limit the whole nation from rare resources any way, cause well that is how you get money is allowing folks to buy those said resources, but why should I allow some known alt to buy up all the goods?
  13. But back on Topic, I do F11's when I see stuff in game that might not be correctly worded. Though I"m the worse person to be checking wording, grammar and spelling, but I do keep my eyes open for little things like that. I know with the UI coming out and new desc for items we need to give a good look over of things so they can be quickly corrected.
  14. Even better you need to learn how to speak Texan, it's a much better language than that silly American.
  15. You know this would disqualified most of the folks on here.. Hell even I got a 2 week ban once but got it reversed and only a warning for what I honestly admitted I deserved as I was a little hot headed in the convo. Though I would more put it as no long term or multi offences on their records. I would look at doing mulit reps for certain nations that have more than one time zone of players. The big nations that have both US and EU time zone players along with SEA can maybe have more than one. As honestly nations shouldn't matter in game as it's more about being a go between for the community and the dev team. Pretty good sum up right here of what you should look for. I would say have a certain number elected by the community but also have a few picked by Devs to. That way they can have a mix of popular vote and the guys that have been active behind the doors with the dev team but might not be in major clans or openly known to many players. The main key is they need to be active in the game. We have to many folks on the forum that want to tell us how the game should be and they don't even play or have it installed any more. If you want to be part of the active development of a game you should be actively part of that game.
  16. I don't think the issue is with PvP kills, player ships you don't fear about rage boarding and don't turn into the wind and do stupid stuff so they are a lot more easy to loot. I actually don't mind the sink rate of the ships and all, but I see how new players or those that don't play as much as others can get frustrated. Just like I think the RNG GODS hate me. We have a joke going in clan that ya'll put some code in game to make RNG give me the worse loot possible as other guys get good loot and I just keep getting basic mods..lol I know one group in our clan recently didn't get the epic chest and one silver chest in an epic cause they couldn't get to it fast enough in the battle before it sunk. I still think those chest should be a redeemable. Maybe keep the silver and gold chest loot from ship, but make the Epic chest a chest that all players (6 total) that didn't sink get as a redeemable price after the mission is over. Kinda like how the old port battle chest was given after port battles where over. Which I still think we need to bring back those too with paint chest.
  17. The problem is most folks won't stay close to an AI sinking cause they will instantly rage board you or continue to shoot at you when half under water. When I'm sinking that much my crew is all tied up in Survival trying to not sink so why isn't the AI? The solution I use for that is to load grape and make sure the crew is lower than mine and it also means they sink faster if they can't pump the water out. Now as for boarding if they are still good number of crew or more and they pull you not every one knows the rock paper scissors game of boarding and can be easily killed by AI cause they have ALL THE BOARD MODS and no penalty. Maybe make it so that AI gets the same panilty from barricades (they have all the bonus not the penalties) and other things like having marines they should be reloading slower and if they have marines that is less crew in survival too. Again AI cheats.....like for every having double shot and charge. I would love to not run out of double ball like AI never seems to when they are still pounding my side half full of water. And lets not get into them constantly turning into the wend and not getting stuck even though they are sinking.... Even though I don't give crap about AI loot any more cause all I get from OW ships is stupid basic mods and not anything else. Basic Mods should only be showing up in low level missions not when your grinding SOL's in the ow for xp and opening slots. It's still stupid your best loot is still trapped behind AI grinding loot.
  18. Are allow a gather loot feature at the end of the battle when it's over. Some times we just don't bother looting cause the stupid AI turns up wind as it's sinking and we aren't going to get stuck in irons trying to get the loot when we are still fighting other ships. Just about every other game out there has a loot at the end of the battle screen and if your in a group it either has a roll for it or is properly split between the party.
  19. Honestly like the LGV Refit and the La Hormonia the PVP marks should be for the BLUE PRINTS not the ship. Than once you get the BP you can craft it how ever you want. Though I Still think the La Horm would make a great CM ship for general players to get there hands on without needing a crafter. PvP Marks should be reserved for things like Blue prints, paints and mods. It's the reason your seeing less and less of the Wasa's out there cause why spend that much on it when you can use something you can craft? Other wise i think the ship it self is very well balanced now.
  20. That what I"m suggesting. Just rest it ever server down time so we don't have to wipe it clean the next day if we didn't use a mission.
  21. I think the nation leaches/rogues or worse than the bad alts (being an alt player there are good uses for them). What has always drove me crazy are the guys that complain about RvR and PvP rewards but they don't want to do the hard work or pay for them. Sorry every game I been on you only get the elite PvP gear by doing it yourself or paying some one else to do it. That includes perks of owning a port. Folks can still come buy stuff in those ports, they just can't put up contracts in those ports. No one is saying you can't buy off the contracts I put up if I want to sale woods and such for a bumped up price for those that don't help. Honestly we have let a lot of them get VM's in empty port battles and than you never hear anything from them. Worse you get the guys, "How much can I sale this for?" The guy getting his one VM a week from leaching off an empty port battle. It's some times good to maybe get other nations to flip your ports into a port battle to clean the house of the dead weight of the nation. The solo casual players normally aren't going out on there own towards clan owned ports. The ones that do are in clans that work with other clans. One guy getting restricted from putting contracts down is not going to kill a player base. IF anything they put contracts up at the capital and pay more for folks to bring back those goods to fill them at a higher price. That way I can sale to the guys I want not just have alts buy all my goods. It is my clans port after all why shouldn't we do what we want with it?
  22. Have it that the owner of the clan owned port can set who can put contracts in the that port. NATION: Any one in the nation can put a contract up) Friendly clans only: Only clans on the friendly clan trading list like the friendly clan list for PB's) OPEN TO ALL: This is auto set if you make a port open to all. Any one can put up a contract. This way you know an alt of putting contracts up you lock it to trading clans of you nation only. Yes this means the solo clanless players will be limited but than most of them prob never leave the safe zones any way. The game is gear towards making folks join clans any way, so lets give the clans the power they need.
  23. Maybe in your clan....and that is why I also stated 5-10 players cause they aren't all on at the same time. Though if you want your clan to work you pool things together and work as a team. We don't even ask for every thing from our guys in my clan. We only ask you donate so much and that is enough to keep every one in ships and be able to pump out tons of 1st rates and other ships in a moments notice. Just the morning that they messed up with the gold RNG I made over a dozen and half ships. My limitations was dock space. The point is it doesn't give me an edge that other players can do the exact same thing if they work together.
  24. And I can make a trade deal with another player and get the same results as having an alt in that nation. All I do is cut out the middle man. So no it's not pay to win. I paid the exact same as you did to play the game, I just paid it 5 times. It gives me no extra edge than what 5 players can do if they are just organized. I actually get my stuff from other nations now that way. I only use the extra chars for labor hours (same as any 5 man clan gets) and to be in more than one area more easily (just like any 5 man clan can be). I'm just 5 players in one is all. Ok when I had one in another nation it was on GLOBAL. I had 4 pirates and I had one Dane. The Dane wasn't there to sneak goods out of that nation. It was to fight with our Dane friends when I was free early mornings (they where a Chinese clan so SEA timers). It wasn't there to get any secret contracts are trade goods. It just gave me more optoin to play the game just like many other games that allow you to have mulit chars on them. In fact by having 5 chars I made the game 5 times harder for myself as I have to take time and gather the money and resources for all 5 and grind out the ships. They are almost all max levels so they aren't just some 2nd Lt I log on do a contract and log off. They are actuall chars in the game I play. I think folks use the words P2W to much thinkiing it means something else. First off it's a term used in Free to play games, this is not a free to play game. So I have the exact advantage as any one else that buys the game or multi copy of the game. In some multiplayer free-to-play games, players who are willing to pay for special items or downloadable content may be able to gain a significant advantage over those playing for free. Some critics of such games call them "pay-to-win" or "p2w" games.
  25. Having alts is not P2W, I have 5 chars (not alts as I play them all equally at times). So why can't a clan of 5-10 players do what I do by myself cause all I'm doing is what a small clan should be do if they are organized. All 5 are in US Nation at this time, but I normally keep one in another nation for resource gathering or just having fun taking a break. Remember that one player still has to go out and play those 5 alts to get things done, while a small clan of 5-10 guys don't have to spend all that time one guy has to get the same thing done. The problem is most players are all out for themselves and don't know how to work as a team in a clan.
