  1. Actually you did, by not giving us any mods supoort, we didn't have any mods for over a year. I would hear folks ask all the time how we set up tournaments and such and the main answer would be, "I don't know." Cause we had no rep to talk to in game about setting such up. Yah I knew prob the best way would be to contact you or Ink, but than I'm a very active person on the forums too. That and there was post in the GLOBAL/PvP2 forums of folks wanting to set up tournaments and such and we got no feed back from the devs or mods, while we would see post answer almost instantly in the EU side. So while ya'll didn't directly do anything, that is also a problem as there was zero support for either the PvP2 or PvE server from the Dev team for a long time. That is in the past though so lets leave it at that. Though right now many nations have no Moderators or as was posted the concept of Community Reps either. Things like events and tournaments that will effect the whole server prob should have a group of players that are involved and encourage to do these things with support of the Dev team. IT's just something to think of before release. If you want the players to make our own content we prob need some more and better tools than we currently have in game. With that how would times for these things be handled? We have a large EU pop of course, but what about any SEA/AUS teams (they get the short end of the stick for every thing from PvP to RvR) or the still some what US population on the game? Will they be set for time zones or will every one have to do them in the EU prime time? Would be nice if we had some more details. I all ready figure we will be doing the matches on weekends during EU prime time most likely since that is when most of the server is active, but it's not the whole server. Remember folks only a very small part of the player base actually comes on these Forums and even read things. Most don't have accounts or ever check the forums so something big like this might be good to be announced in game when more details are ironed out.
  2. That actually brings up something else, why don't our xp goes towards something else when we max out? I know they speak of 5 more ranks upon release, but would be nice if it went towards something. Like Sailing XP should go towards the ships (so traders can level up there trade ships without combat). Maybe have some part of your xp boost your ship knowledge grinding if your maxed out level. This way it's easier to grind out slots on ships once you reached max rank in game. Same goes for crafting XP, I loved it when you got crafting xp for ships you built. It helped young new crafters level up when they would craft smaller ships. Maybe make it so when you max out level that gives you something like a boost to your crafting. Cause right now ocne you make what crafting level 35 or something it's the same as level 50. You get nothing special after you reach the recipt level (this might be changed with new patch some day).
  3. Maybe some of the more rare drops can have missions you actually have to do to get them. Like kill so many players, do so many boarding etc etc and it will unlock and give you that drop. In most games you had mission/epics/boss's you could only get certain gear from. I wouldn't mind grinding some AI if I had a for sure win of a certain item. Just like the epic loot chest for sinking all ships should go to all players not just one chest you have to share the loot from. It's bad enough you have to split the 9 (if you get all) silver/gold chest from the ships. If we all lived than we should all 6 players get there own Epic loot chest (drop it like old PB's did if you won).
  4. You got some lucky RNG. I done fleets (OW not missions)of nothing but SOL's (mainly 2/3's) and still got Basic Hull (which I like for trash ships) and other basic stuff. I have never gotten a rare drop off an OW AI ship only from Epic Events or Ship Wrecks (bottles and the events). This is why I keep saying the RNG GODS hate me. While I have had clan mates get several rare mods in a row. I don't mind getting basic mods in fleet/solo missions from the port as they are meant for new players and casuals, but I SHOULD NOT BE GETTING THEM AGAINST OW SOL's. It's honeslty got to a point I don't even feel liek going out and grinding any more. Hell I don't even loot in hostility missions cause they are almost lal dropping nothing but sail repair and rum (which I bring enough of) and I don't expect them to drop good loot. Now where I do loot, shallow ships. The best loot i gotten have been on shallow ships over the past (though I mainly do it for the light hammocks drops). I think this week I'm going to pick ships and hit them and document my loot drops. I know I joke about it, but in clan it's almost a on going joke that the game is coded to give me crappy drop (it's not I just have bad luck).
  5. And not to mention a whole server got left out (well PvE still does) in the past when they did these things. At least this time we will be a part of it, only cause we merged lol Though I have to agree that the prize really should be cosmetic things not elite rare things. While I know some of my clan mates might go for this for sure and hell we might even place some where half decent but I'll prob leave that to better players. I mean what the worst that can happen I actually win a match or two...lol
  6. Are maybe if it's not something we have to wait for every for, it could be something they bring with the next "BIG PATCH" which we all hope is the UI patch. Would give some fresh new content for folks that been sticking around other than the patch. I like new content don't know about some of ya'll but we could use some more to keep the current players around. Well that and this patch to hurry up and be done with and put in game.
  7. I really wish to get some of the ASP guys on here to see how they think but many of the stopped playing and it would be nice to have some of there input as a new clan of mainly new players. @Kjartan? Any chance to get some input from your guys?
  8. Yah safe zones battles should only stay open for the defenders not the attackers so they can keep joining. I just watched a few hours ago a fight in front of CT that French keep joining (so did US) until they had more US players cause well they killed the US players that keep jumping in to save some one that was long dead. Right in front of the captial on the very edge of the harbor which is when the safe zone ends before it opens to not safe zone either way for 5K in game. This where a lot of players get farmed out at the capital and should be safe for players to be in not prime hunting grounds of seal clubbers.
  9. No offence to @Hethwill as he's one the few mods I actually seen active over the years, but as for the others? WHAT MODS? Global went almost a year before we ever had any active mods and most of the either stop playing or went back to EU server. Even now there is pretty much only one active mod I seen and he's the one mentioned above. Each nation should have a couple of active moderators be honest to handle in nation chat and well of course any issues on global, but this shouldn't be there job to train new players. They are there to moderate the game. Now with that said some games have content RP staff that is all they do is create events and make content for the game. This would be nice, but prob something best for after release. Instead we need a way to retain the players and let them learn on there own not try to force them. I mean when your starting to learn to swim you don't go jump into the shark tank when your still trying to learn with floaties in the kiddy pool. I wasn't a big fan of the tutorial rushing a player to MC rank until I found out how hard the exam was. We shouldn't rush them or force them into play they aren't ready for and that is why folks think the game needs some zones (what we have now is not safe zones). No one is asking for them to be bigger, just better mechanics and for me I would say around the capital and maybe one or port distance (not the whole reinforcement zone) only. We need a way to keep them around long enough to bring them into our clans and train them up.
  10. That is a step, but would be nice if we got a chance at the AI perks too on top of bigger chance for exceptional. Don't lock it to ports cause than folks will just own one zone and than every one use alts. Though ports owned by clans do need a little something. Like control of the resources they get instead of just the money earned which is a joke. The most we earned one day was 2 million and than we had to pay 1 million in tax's (500K was for the timer) that just stupid crazy as some one that only has 100K maintenance would get a lot more profits. The up fee as you earn more should be separate from the maintenance fee. For a fairly small/new clan holding most of the nations ports we pay a lot out of our pockes cause most of the ports make little money (cause no one wants to trade past enemy ports in ports that use to make moeny). NO reason for them to go down to those ports and risk it right now. Need more reason for folks to risk things in ports not in the safe zones.
  11. Who is going to run this training clan and train them? I hardly got time to run my own clan and they don't have time to do things other than RvR, PvP and yes PvE/trade to make money, why would we take our time out to train a player that doesn't know zip from any thing? That should be the games design to lead them into the game and teach them the basics and give them the safe place to learn the game and grow. Just about every MMO I been on you couldn't even go into the PvP zones (GO INTO) until you hit a certain level. The rest of the map was PvE only. This game has it backwards where instead of having most the map PvE for folks to learn and level up it has most of it PvP (in fact all of it is pretty much). This game should not be a job of me training new players in my nation and protecting them from vets. I do agree a lot of players leave or take a break cause of boredom but that isn't the only reason. I know many of our guys are honestly tired of the toxic and being farmed by half the nations out there that refuse to fight each other. Many of us are logging into TS and chatting while playing other games and waiting for the "BIG PATCH." Well the next one or the UI one.
  12. Honestly and i know this is going to piss off the PVP guys, btu safe zones honestly should just be that safe zones. If you want PvP than go to some one's port and flip it or farm it, not the capitals of nations. There is another game that the whole map was a PvE zone and it did great for many years. The only way to get PvP was to flip a port and create a red zone. We would keep certain areas of the map, (the middle) red all the time by not putting it completely into port battles. While I like the fact we can fight over almost all the map, I do honestly think the reinforcement zones should really be PvE only zones instead. Cause right now the zones do more harm than good, they give false feel of safety to new players when vets just come in and farm them. Than again I kinda liked the concept the devs came up with the PvE zone being the GULF OF MEXICO and shutting down the PvE server. Cause lets all be honest the map is way to big as it is (POTB map was kinda small in game as it was easy to get to one end or the other fast).
  13. While pen mods don't matter really causes Mortar is going to pen any way when it hits. What you want to look for is the ones that give you better accuracy. Means of Directing the Fire is a really good one for mortars as it makes the receptacle smaller from the start when you aim into a target. @Ink Speaking of the Mortar are we ever going to fix the aim receptacle for them on shore? It's fine firing at sea targets, but cause it stays on the water level you don't see it on land and have to guess. I get why the red dot was removed, cause it made it way easy to target, but for land we might want to bring back the red dot or fix how the aim receptacle shows (or doesn't currently) on land.
  14. You do know the placement of the list of who is in the fight and color tells you if it's AI or players. SO you don't have to just jump into the battle and check. Being able to return would be abused way more than used for good. Folks will just jump out repair and jump back in with new ships if they where sunk or bigger ship. No keep it locked if you leave. Now here is a question why was that battle still open? Battles should not be open for a long time unless he's in the safe zone and than only to the defenders. That would solve folks jumping into missions. If you had time to jump in and jump out than it should of been locked.
  15. Don't join fights near forts or such? You also cause hostility while in them too, should that be removed? Funny thing the last time Brits flips Harbor Island we are pretty sure most of the hostility was from folks jumping into the missions and getting killed thinking it was Patrol Zone battle. They do not look the same by the way and just to let folks know Hostility Missions don't count towards Patrol Zone points.
  16. Knowing the Devs it's some Ninja pre-patch before we get hit by the next BIG PATCH.....lol
  17. You mean it shows if you hit even if you don't pen? That was part of the May 10th hotfix.
  18. @Ink @admin What was the hotpatch today about?
  19. Lets keep it to the waters only, it is called Naval Actions after all not Naval/Land Action.
  20. Trading flags: PRE-WIPE LV/SORRY: PRE-MERGE Dude really let the past go and move on. Seems like all you complain about is things that happen a year or more ago. Totally different game and players now for the most part. Stop holding on to the past and move on.
  21. While some would say your PvP Marks should be your reward we where talking about this the other night after our screeners did a great job. We made sure to screen shot the TS to get there names, but would be nice if there was a way to reward them. Like so many screens for a port you get honorary Lord Protector status with that clan/port. Maybe a clan that wins a port can have so many MVP votes to hand out to screeners for honorary Lord Protector status of that port after the PB.
  22. I didn't mind the diplomatic system to let folks know the main views of a nation. I just didn't like the fact it locked out clans from fighting other nations. I can see bring back the voting system for a nations view on what they should do, but don't make it where it forces them to only be able to attack one nation or another. Just have it as a system folks can look at and see, "Hay we aren't freindly with the french by popular vote so we can go kill some french." Or "Hmmm it's about even on views with the Spanish, screw it my clan is going to go kill Spain players." Are you can just have the clan that attacks no one or every one. Keep that as a clans choice. That way newer players can look up the nation status with certain nations and kinda get a view of how the game is going.
  23. According to @admin and he can correct me as I'm not going to dig for the post where he made the comment. Pirates might get some love after release, but until than there are more important things to work on. So maybe some day they will take all the great ideals and some stupid ones we have posted and come up with something for the pirates. Oh and Pirates are in RvR, the EU pirates have took some ports down south. It just seems there is zero US prime time pirates in the game other than a few souls @Privateer and a few others.
  24. Since they brought back DD might as well bring back Press Gang. Though I always thought a better version of it that would be better for the game would be you get 20% of your crew back at the end of a battle. Not at the end of the board. Which made it kinda op in chain boarding fights. I actually like the concept of getting the marks when you return the ship back to friendly ports. Give Gold/XP for a battle, maybe keep CM's how they are since it's AI any way and you can get them for PvP too, but have actually PvP marks only rewarded when you return the ship to a friendly port (nation owned not freetown) and turn it into the admiralty.
  25. Sadly most of the content encourages ganking fights in this game. I'm also going to be flat blunt about this, this is not a solo game, so folks need to remember that. If you want nice little solo fights than go find a corneer where all the solo fights can be done. It's not hard to tell others hay lets all meet at this port on this day at this time and do friendly solo 1 vs 1. Jumping some noobs little ship in green zone is not that 1 vs 1 fights. It's just that ganking some one unprepared and getting the easy kill no matter how folks try to say it's "meaningful PvP." Look folks i used that word too. BR caps in those zones would really help. I have avoided the deep water zones cause I would love to go in a 5-4 rate and have fun, but ever time I gone in a certain clan rolls in with 4th-1st rates in a large group steam rolling any small groups or solo players. Put a cap on the highest ship brought in and make them actually about fighting in 5th through maybe 3rd rates max and you will prob see some more even fights. You still get the ganked fights, but you won't see the SOL steam roll. Remember this coming from some one that was in a clan on global that use to show up in nothing but 1st rates, but we where also almost always out number too as to why we used them, but it did not get us "MEANINGFUL FIGHTS." These guys got to get it out of there head this is an a SOLO game for the most part, and there is no such thing as a fair fight in real life. So if they want arranged even fights with like BR they need to do that arranged them and meet up with other teams some where and not go out expecting to find it on the OW.
