Officer skills require rebalance
Sir Texas Sir replied to Guardian54's topic in Early access discussions
Yep I use the money boost in US play, but I never had an issue with money really in UK so I pump up my officers training and survival more than anything, than the industry stuff to get better guns. US play you just don't get good choices for the industry so you have to work on what saves you money crew, rewards and reputation to keep ships and sale them. Which I still think US play needs Reputation boost since UK gets so much resources. That and why do we not have boarding tools in US play when your Privateers for freaking sake? -
I know they talk about doing DLC with the UA version, but they really miss out on chances for more sale not doing DLC's for UG:CW as there are so many more battles they could include in the game. I keep hoping some modder would add more battles to the game.

Actually currently isn't it like GB, Russia, Prussia, US all in one block and than you have Swede, France, Dutch on the other. Danes and Spain pretty much doing there own thing? There are a few loose cannons in those nations but that pretty much how I see the state of the game currently and only RvR wise. Oh and pirates, but every one is suppose to hate them any way so that is pretty much where they stand.
-
You don't read to good do you, now one is suggesting the old system. We are suggesting the Coalition system that @admin actually posted that would be controlled by Devs not the players. Any way alts couldn't out vote active players. They couldn't in the old alliance system as we even tried that on PvP2 and believe me between Pirates and those allied with us we had plenty of alts that where of level to out vote active players, but US and GB still had more players than we had alts. The reason I ask what nation is cause well I assume your using an alt name (cause there is no Vizzini in game) and I have never seen you active in any of the fights prob cause your not using an active name. Even now with Dutch being what like 3rd largest nation maybe 4th as we did loose two big clans, we are struggling to fill port battles and screening fleets. Specially if anything falls out of the EU time zone. Is it cause of lack of players or lack of interest? You can be the largest nation in game and still have hardly any PvP/RvR palyers, I mean look at GB as it's always been traditionally one of the largest nations in game. Player numbers are study in the fact that folks are back doing trade and such to make money. Those folks normally don't do RvR. You got to remember there are multi types of players and some do just killing AI and doing trade runs for the most part and getting into some PvP fights once in a while on there own terms. Speaking of nation size any updated list of the size of the nations currently in game?

Final exam, post Treacherous Waters Patch Nov 2019
Sir Texas Sir replied to Kubrat's topic in Guides - development forum
I remember some where they mention AI gets a pen boost. Which I just did my exam on a char on PvE to get reps and I had no problem boarding the first one leaving crew and than running to repair. The problem is I couldn't run from him. He stayed on me pennning 500M shots instead of fighting the other AI. Three repairs later and I was sunk. Repairs seem to not use your skills either so they do very little. I noticed that it feels some times like your ship is made out of fir and other times it's oak. While AI ships are always tanky but don't get any speed pen from having a lot more HP's (something else the devs said they have a % more than we have). The final exam should have ships made of the same woods every time and not some random. It kinda pissed me off cause it's a good bit of time wasted doing it. Not to mention I'm so sick of doing the tutorial over and over for each char.....can we please have a skip button for those parts? I don't need the exam on PvE cause my chars are max, I'm only doing it for the reps and the clock. Oh and I also noticed that AI start with prep now in the exam which you don't have and instantly get a shot off on you at the very start of the battle. I was down 40 crew t he first time before I even got loaded and close enough to fire my first shot and rage board the first one. So I just restarted it and did the second attempt. Now after wasting a good 45 mins I'm going to restart it again..... -
The old alliance system we had before that was player voted was bad as it restricted folks from fighting each other, but we didn't have forge papers back than either. The coalition one that admin suggested was Dev controlled and if one group gets more powerful than others they can break them up and make new coalitions. If you don't like that you can't fight french any more and your DUTCH, than just use your forge papers if you got them. Pirates should be free for all in all battles. Honestly Green on Green should only count for same nation only in battles. That will solve some of the issues of folks joined teams of other nations. I honestly thought the impossible nations was going to be test for new pirate mechanics when it came out, but well we have seen found pirates will never get anything and what they had was removed cause of folks abusing the system. Abusing them to get around thins (capital zones) we don't have any more. So don't see why they can't come back. You do know this game, the war server is a PvE with PvP server right? So folks can play both, some folks don't want to be safe 100% of the time. Some folks enjoy to do things at risk on there own terms. Some of us don't have the time to be on 24/7 like a few folks that seem to have no jobs or real life. Most of us get a few hours a day if even that to play. It's a pain to expect others to protect your interest all the time while your at work or doing things with family or having a holiday. Every other game with something like this has either safe zones that no PvP/RvR can be done in or they have server resets once a certain time or goal is reached. That attrition effects player numbers over time and gets us right back to dead servers. Only 10% of the game is hard core PvP/RvR guys, what you think it would be like if the rest of that 90% just left and went to Peace server as you suggest since the server isn't the right one for them according to /YOU/? May I ask what nation your currently playing in?
-
Another game Developer said a while back why they are making there game something like 20/80 or 30/70 (heard both) player vs AI and you can't tell if it's a player or AI just by name. He said that folks like to win and when your not winning all the time you aren't having fun, when your not having fun you stop playing. So we want to re move that from having really good players always picking on less skilled players as they won't know who is a player or an AI. I'll take this into this game. Folks don't like to loose all the time, when you have the same folks winning or zerging cause every one joined there nation the game stops becoming fun. So folks either join the winning team or they stop playing. It's part of your jobs as Devs to balance the factions. You have not done that and that tends to have a very one sided map. It's just repeating it's self. Like Pirates controlled most of the Map on PvP2 cause all the best players played in one faction even though the US/GB/Dutch way out number them. It just wasn't fun for both sides. We have asked you to bring coalitions to help balance the games, the post you even made about such was great. Other games balance by restricting certain factions or offering rewards to join lower factions. Back when I was very active in MWO on we ran a Merc clan that only joined the weakest houses. As you can see that was the one with a 7% population with gave us 30% profit on loot and XP for joining. If we joined the biggest houses we which held 12% of the players, we actually took a -20% hit to XP and loot. If your not going to do map resets than there is no win in game, and the game gets stale if the Devs don't change anything. Sooner or later other nations will fall and stop playing and numbers might dip down low again. The majority of the players honestly don't care about PvP, they like just doing there own thing and fighting in the OW (PvP or PvE or both). So once they loose the good crafting port they leave and join the bigger nations. This isn't healthy for the game. There needs to be some incentive to not do this. Also incentive to join the weaker nations or have a coalition so the weaker nations can help each other. Impossible nations should never be part of any coalition nor pirates.

I know folks have said a Xebec trader would be nice in game. I was thinking a DLC trade ship that can be redeem pretty much any where would be great. Maybe just have it with 2lbs on front and side decks and no other guns and half the crews (125 still high) so that it won't be easy to just rage board, like other shallow trade ships. Being able to just redeem one a day will keep folks from having fleets of them too.
-
Could you maybe give every one a permit for one time for any new ships put in that is craftable? I have been opening chest for a good while and seem to never get the ships permits I want. I'm sure we cover this before, "RNG GODS HATE ME." That way we can all craft and test out one or maybe do a special mission for folks that they can do one time to get a permit? Just random RNG loot kills my fun as I seem to get the same crappy loot and not what I want......I swear if I get one more swedish D**** Pump from random OW AI I'm going to scream. They should of just did that with the LGV refit and I guess the armed Idniaman they have plans. I think a normal trade ship would be good too. Hell I'll take the armed Indiaman if it has decent cargo and use it as my lead ship when doing trade runs. The only problem with DLC's is we can only redeem one at a time and some times we want more than one trade ship so it's best for the Refits. Though still be nice to just redeem a normal trade ship any where I want to move stuff. A shallow water trade ship like LRQ Trader that has little to no guns on it (just put the little 2lbs on the sides and front).

There is also the problem we don't know what ports can be attacked or not unless we use alts to check ports. Maybe @admin devs can add a line in port info that tells you which ports they can be attacked from. Than the clan will know if they need to put a timer on or not. Most of the ports we have had attacked in Dutch lately have been cause no timer was on them when a port close got flipped and the clan didn't know if they needed a timer or not. The other thing a lot of smaller clans couldn't do port battles in the past cause of the Capital Frontline system. Now that they can attack smaller BR ports they are doing that. I still think a coalition system ran by the devs would be a good thing for the game as we have way to many nations. This way they can actually add more nations/flags by just adding those nations to a coalition group.

Gun change January 14
Sir Texas Sir replied to Yettie's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
You want to know the fastest way to solve the big ship getting stern camp by little ship issue with say a Snow and SOL? \ MUSKET AREA OF EFFECT They said they have it in game but never put it in and it's used in UA:Age of Sails, so why not put it in game? That would stop from little ships getting way to close to a big ship. Boost the crew damage up if some one has musket mods and such. You see those little ships instantly melt of crew. I would love to see 32's on two decks but we don't have any ships with those on the second decks. Would love if I can drop 42's down to 32's which allows me to raise the second deck of 24's to 32's so I have on some 2nd rates two decks of 32's. Have it have limit's of cannons per deck not ship as a whole. -

Best way to level new officer
Sir Texas Sir replied to Strategy General's topic in Early access discussions
Has anything changed recently with officers? I tend to not get hardly any level cause they die just about ever freaking battle once they rank up. That and it will say the same guys rank up several battles in a row but you look at there card and they are still the same rank? -
Combat medals are for combat?
Sir Texas Sir replied to Never's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
Either for CM's or something else, cause a lot of us are sitting on a ton of them after ports are upgrade with nothing really to spend them on. I could see a few refits that can only be bought with VM's or maybe some mods. That way it's more things that can be traded for. -
No Forts in Shallow Ports
Sir Texas Sir replied to Teutonic's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
I been meaning to test out the mortar brig since release but just haven't had a chance. I know the forts got HP's pumped up big time. Back when all the guns got bumped up to higher damage, did the Mortars too? Maybe keep it not so accurate, but bump the damage up. So it's still very deadly to ships if it hits one (which should be hard unless not moving) and can take down forts, but not super crazy fast (they use to kill them a bit to fast....16-18 hits for towers and close to 40-50 hits for forts I think was the old count.) Time to kill should be 1 fort for one mortar brig in 20 mins, not three or they need to change the BR's to allow more in. The other thing is we can maybe get a bigger ship that can take one mortars too. Third rate could be a great ship or even one of the SOL have a refit that has less guns but carries mortars too. That would at least help for the deep water battles where the little mortar brig is pretty much dead first thing in the battle. -
Trading Explained - Feedback welcome
Sir Texas Sir replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
I made some runs the last frew days and I'm getting something like 1-2 million for a long sail and the same back so your looking at like 3 hours of game time to make 2-3 million. And that is even if I have decent cargo. Most of the stuff is all ready bought and traded by time I get home from work so I normally have to buy little here and there for a day or two before I can make a run. So I don't know who's making all the millions but I got a feeling it's not the US prime playing guys as I heard the same complaint from others market is strip by time they get online to play. -
He kinda got a point though, I basicly been turned off grinding to make money cause some times you hardly get enough doubloons to pay for repairs unless you only fight same tier or higher battles. Battle doublloons need to be more for those that don't want to trade. I was grinding to level up and get slots on ships and I couldn't afford to run my buildings and econ. Though I spend three hours I make 2.5 million in trade (long hual) compared to 3 hours grinding I barely make 100K.

veteran player merit recognition
Sir Texas Sir replied to Celtiberofrog's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
In game veteran status really doesn't mean anything cause all I have to do is make a new alt and than farm the crap out of newbs as a newb. I have 6 chars and all have diffrent levels of online time from a few thousand hours to my main char I don't even play on any more which has over 9K hours. Why would I want folks to know a char I changed names and nations is some one with a billion hours? The other thing is I been on games folks made new chars just to make it look like they where newbs to farm others. On a few of these I actually keep a char in Newbie area to help new players against these type of players. So you always have toxic folks that will abuse it. Just knowing my own hours on my chars I would say maybe not in the high range. I would more call veterans by time they bene playing the game than hours actualling game, but than again we have the Yatch (for sea trials) and pandora (for EA) players. What would we give vets? Though I could be made happy with a DLC trade ship/refit winkwink..lol -
Ship knowledge needs to stay with your ship and fleet no matter if you switch them. So if you switch you have what ever knowledge you set on that ship in port. I suggested before that Pirates should be treated as Enemy to all and that would solve this and no need to have outlaw battles. Just make it so that green on green only effect same nation players. Other wise all other nations is far game no matter what side they are on. I never understood why we couldn't keep out flags. Than again we still have open cannon ports in OW...never understood why they couldn't just make the OW models with the gun ports shut.

What does this have to do with the issue on hand other than prove that your nothing but an arrogant arse man? I don't need to do a dick measuring contest to prove who's the better game player. It has nothing to do with this tribunal. I'll repeat this as you seem to be slow about the rules of tribunal: You can only reply to tribunal threads if you are: -The reported -The reporter -Someone with additional proof and/or information. As some one with additional information I did post so stop bickering like a kid. It is your job to prove some one did it intentionally. Just posting a screen shot with damage doesn't really prove that you where being shot at intentionally. Specially when your actions where causing you to get shot either by being close or through shots aimed at others. Your screen shot doesn't tell about the first time you failed to pit Lion shaft where you where on his side partly as that was when I notice you being hit by the chain shot. Just look at the battle timer, we had been in battle almost 20 mins already. But we aren't going to tribunal every time your just being a dick player man. Hell now I wished I had recorded that battle cause it would let either side know what they did wrong, but I don't see a need to record time I play.

Cause RVR is not solo play, other games have group/clan actions too. If you want RvR and that stuff get a friends and do it. Aren't you on PvE any ways? If so that brings up something else, it would be nice if ya'll had a way to flip ports instead of waiting for a raid and it to go neutral, but only for AI owned poirts. The issue with your solo one man thing is that can be used big time and abused by alts and folks pissed off at a nation. No one man can or should hold a port they can't defend themselves. So if you can't flip a port, beat the AI and capture the circles yourself than you don't deserve the team/group play it's made for. Not saying it can't be done as I flipped ports and won port battles with two players before (mama duck and some one else cap circles). A solution's for PvE server is to have them be more aggressive on the raids of AI owned ports so they turn neutral. The problems is ya'll have no PvP/RvR to let ports exchange hands so that port will be forever in a players hands no matter what. Honestly PvE needs map resets every quarter or year or something (not resources just port owners) or it's going to get stale and no one will be able to own any ports that players stopped playing owned and such. A solution would make inactive clans loose a port after no clan members log on (prefer Officer or diplomates/creater) a set time it reverts to neutral. Also there should be a way for a Nation to hand off ports to other clans take a port from a dead/inactive or bad clan(alts/spy/traitors switching nation) on both servers.

Where you in sea trials and pod by PayPal before steam EA release? That how you get the yatch DLC. I miss it by a day cause I was down in Brazil working and got back the day after and it went to steam. though I still think pandora should not be a dlc folks can buy. It should be a special ship for EA testers only.

Hotfix for port capture - Capital first rule is no more.
