We are pretty sure most of the care bear PvP2 US/Brits will be hanging out in the PvE zone, but the rest of us that want to fight are more than willing to work out a good nation balance too. Though I know my clan will stay Pirates. We plan to be a thorn in every one side while they fight each other. Hell we might even help the US/Brits out over there if they are getting beat on to much by another nation......nah prob not. And remember BLACK Is only about 15-20 on average (we have more players) so it's only one clan beating the snot out of the two biggest nations.

And we all know a certain pirate clan that has no love for Brit/US. Or any other bullies of the moment....maybe once we see some real nation vs nation fighting we go back to OW and being a thorn in the side. Now where is that trader PvE zone stop at? Cause this shark will be hungry....

That and the new fleet stuff would be nice cause I got a bunch of crap spread all over the place I would like to move back to one area to be ready for the wipe/merge stuff. That and let us test the new stuff while we wait for the patch and than they can get the new patch into testbed for testing too.

US/BRIT/DUTCH (since ya'll will be back in the alliance) shouldn't be getting rolled when they can bring 30-40 people to port battles. We can't bring more than 25. So it's not our fault they are getting rolled. I'm not upset with the time the PB was and I couldn't make it. Some reason I had it as being 6:20pm when it was actually 5:20pm for me so I was late. A fight is a fight. Though hay if they want to hit odd times than we can go back to doing that too. Nothing big might as well fight and lose our ships before the wipe any way.

They where going to take it out in the current testbed so you have to attack a regions and own it to use it to use it. Though sounds like they are going to bring it back like it use to be. If you have the flag your trader can get into an enemy port but any one can attack you and it treats you like a pirate and it's a FFA battle just like the new Pirate vs Pirate mechanics in Testbed. Not enough info yet, but I would assume the smart thing would be to make the PvP global server. PvP EU is going to be a mirror of PvP1. Than allow every one from PvP1 and PvP2 to merge into PvP Global that want to play on it with there redeemable and pick new nations. All alliances and regions need to be reset specially with the PvE zone changes, but we just don't have any info on this yet. Admin did hint the PvP Global Server might be set in the US. Which would give it a more global location for all players SEA/AU/US/EU etc.... So until there is a post that tells us exactly what they plan to do we are all just guessing.

If you have haven't noticed PvP1 and PvP2 is getting merged into the PvP Global server so yes we are getting merged into one server along with you unless we want to play in the EU only server. SO your not the only one. You don't see us having a hissy fit about it do you? We know the merge is needed and the resources for the servers can be put to better things. I'm going to take a bet we see the EU server loose numbers in a few months like the last mirror did and it will be merged back into the other server. So if it saves them money they can spend on things like 3D models of more ships and better servers and hours to get content done than I'm all for it. We are here to test a game in development aren't we after all? Well that is what I'm here for. I mean that is the whole purpose of an EA game release to get folks in to help devolve a game. Current loged into the servers right now. PvE 37 players PvP2 90 players PvP1 74 players So tell me again which server is the weakness one? So why wouldn't they merge serves with numbers like that? I know you get more numbers during EU play time, but is it truly enough to keep one extra sever when they have came up with a solution for you to keep playing. They don't even have to give you crap. They only promised the PvE server after release. As it's content they aren't working on right now cause the game is based on a PvP model. You don't want PvP than stay in the safe zones. Plan and simple. Hell I'm going to bet we find more folks on both servers will enjoy this option as it allows the PvEers to stay in safe areas and craft and trade and it allows the PvPers to be more closer to each other and than you have folks that like both fighting, crafting and trading that can play in both zones. I plan to have some trade deals with the PvE guys as I see it as a good source to get things crafted on the side while I'm fighting.

I will start the bickering off with.....I DON'T SEE NO PIRATES PORTS.....lol Sorry had to. Though It think I would prefer them to keep it to the 3 they have. Not every nation needs to be in there and part of the PvE thing. I would honestly hope PIRATES would never be thought as a PvE nation either. Pretty much if your playing pirate your signing up fr the hard core PvP job. Just wish we get some actually pirate mechanics some day other than just some bastardized National stuff.

Yah the biggest problem on PvP2 is the two Care bear super powers. I'm going to bet we will see a lot of the PvP2 US/Brits hiding in the PvE zone when the changes happen. We recently ran LVG's loaded up with goodies and parked them in front of the capitals in the green zones and they didn't even try to come out and take them. They even tried to do the ignore the pirates and they will go away when the get bored thing on us. So what we do? We start taking all the silver ports and the major econ ports so they either fight us or they can't craft crap. It's getting them out to fight, but not in the numbers we want. It just blows my mind that 15-20 players in one nation is beating the crap out of the two largest nations on our server. Glad to see France slowly growing too. I think the merger is going to get a lot of folks more to do as it allows us to fill other nations and have a more balanced server on all times zone. That is if some folks don't run off players from there nations and make it turn back into the separation issues we have on both servers between alliances and such.

I would have to assume you will have to get a PvPer to bring you certain goods like the Bermuda Cedar and Live Oak. This should encourage trade between the zones. Though I don't think you will be easily getting certain refits. How did ya'll get pirate refit before hand if you weren't a pirate since ya'll can't capture regions on PvE? You had to get some one else to make the ship for you right? Well now you can get some one to get the refit for you. I plan to prob be doing just that. Running top end goods that folks want for top dollar/gold. You want pirate refit and us pirates are the only ones with it your going to pay. Good way for us to get goods back too. Let ya'll do the grunt work of the crafting for us in trade. Though I do all my crafting any way.

spread sheet? I could use something like that. I suck at this math thing been waiting for some one to make an app to work it out or something lol. But really we got called hacks again by a few last night after the PB cause of bouncing balls and being able to melt ships. I'm about ready to screen shot my PB ships and show them my freaking build. Which isn't some crappy store bought ship or one made to run. So that spread sheet let me know how close you are to the wind. When I timed it it's not exactly 48 mins. It's something like 48.57 or something like that so you might want to time the rotation yourself. Just pick a point and time it to see how long it takes to get a full rotation. -
They said the patch won't be before two weeks from notice but within the next 30 days. Well uh it's been almost a week all ready so we should get test server soon...hopefully? Maybe even what we been testing out in a mini patch until than? I think the number of free town are fine, just need to limit ships to frigates and traders in them and that would help. I'll be honest 6 of my 8 ports are in free towns for PvP. Other wise we pirates wouldn't be all over the place. The two are econ ports that I need resources from at the moment or what the flavor of the week ship I'm building. Takeing out more free ports is going to limit us even more on our PvP. Though I still think they should just give us the Capital and rookie capital free and let us have 8 more ports (total of 10). That way no matter what every one has the capital. PvE guys would get the PvE capital instead of the Rookie Capital. So they can always return to main capital no matter what and have a port there.

That is what happens when you have no sink for your resources....as in if no one ever gets sunk you have no reason to be using any of your resources so you just stock pile them. I'll be honest mine at one time looked very much like that and I know a few clan mates that does. Other than small ships I haven't been sunk in any ship that wasn't a captured SOL or some Note trash ship. I never crafted at the capital, it was way to busy for me. Though I do know what freetown I'll be returning back to doing my ship building once more. Lets just say it's no where near Kidds my current ship building port for most ships lol

You know it's sad when the Pirates have actually taking LVG's and parked them in front of the Capitals of both US and Brits in side the green zone and still no one would come out and attack them. Hell we had them full of loot too and announced it in global. I got a sneaky feeling a lot of these guys from PvP2 are going to be in the "SAFE ZONE" You know since they only like to PvP when they out number every one...lol

Great now ya'll are going to know how we get the wind lol Actually you can find out the wind until after server reset and than you use the formula to find out how the wind will be when the port battle starts later that day. We been pretty lucky with most of ours to get wind we can work with (1st attack of Vera Cruz wasn't one of the lucky ones). Next thing folks are going to find out what our secret killer broad side is (DOUBLE SHOT at point blank hurts and Double charge at distances helps pens) or that we have super tanked out special pirate ships (LO, Stiffness, Hull strength build and freaking angle your ship when being shot at). But lets not tell the Nationals on PvP2 these things....lol -
Ya to be honest the only reason we are in the GoM right now is cause we be greedy Pirates and want all the silver on PvP2 (to make up for months of not having it our selves). I did have a port in there for trade hunting that I rarely used, but once in a while I would catch some sucker trader making a run. That was like my Sunday morning run.... Than the resources are something many of us are wondering about too. I be honest to say that I'm surprised the PvP event wasn't a big circle around Mort lol As much as folks want to restrict pirates I all ways thought the free ports should be reserved for pirates and traders. So yah nothing bigger than a 4th rate. And if they ever give pirates some sort of real mechanics instead of the bastard national thing they would be the only ones that could put Outpost in them....but that would be if Pirates wasn't part of the conquest system and just had something like a raids system where they raid a port but don't keep it after a set amount of days. With all these changes they really need to reset the map and alliances and let us all start fresh again. It will give every one the best chance to pick the nations and make them more populated.

I know this isn't the final zones, but man that looks bigger than I was thinking. So yah they should have plenty of room and this will push more of the PvP player together into one side of the map and those folks that while they still play current PvP servers can go do trade and PvE stuff in the safe area.

Yes and the Devs have said they plan to have a PvE server when the game is released. For all we know this system might work out better and majority loves it. We might find out every one hates it and they scrap it and go back to the PvP only server and PvE only server. Lets all give it a chance and try it out.

I brought up a Privateer/Pirate mechanic that would be a great way to handle Nation changing in the future, but part of it needs to have a reputation system in game to work. Say I'm Spanish and I want to switch to US. I would pretty much like the old pirate system attack a Spanish ship and go outlaw/Pirate. To be able to become US though I would need to get a contract as a privateer for that nation. While still basically a Pirate/Outlaw now I'm working for the US. I can only join there fights and none of there alliances while a privateer and I can not build anything in those regions owned by US but I can use there ports for trade. Once i get enough reputation while fighting with the US I get the option to become full blown US nation and my Privateer status goes away and now I'm a US National players. Make it an in game way to switch nations but not something you can just do over night. Though for now I think when we do the merger we need to just let every one merge into one server and make the change. When the PvP Global server goes live we should be starting with a fresh map too and no alliances so every one has to vote for new ones and get there regions/ports claimed fresh. I think pushing a bunch of us all into one server without doing this will just be asking for more trouble than we all ready have. I know on both PvP1 and PvP2 many folks have talked about changing nations and making the servers more equal. Give us the tools and means to do it.

I thought about doing something like this near the end before server mergers with patch. Though it will be open world race with chance to be tagged. Set up every one with a starting point and the first one to get there ship to the finish point wins. No guns on your ships so they will be all stripped down, but every one else not involved in the race is free to tag and try to sink/capture you. Maybe a prize for any that do. We did stuff like this on POTBS a few times and it was fun. -
I have no problem with there being a PvE server if the Devs think they need one for the game testing. They only have a limited amount of resources for running the games and if they don't feel the need to have 3 servers running than it's their call to shut one down. I understand some folks want to not have any PvP in there game play. Devs are providing you with that by making part of the server PvE only. Many games do this. They don't have to do this since they have only promised PvE server after release of the game. So they are going out of there way to help you guys still have a place to play. Remember they are paying for these servers and we are only a small part of what they might have as future sales when the game goes live. If they don't have the resources to run 3 servers cause two of them are very low pop than it makes since for them to shut down one or two of those servers. Servers aren't cheap after all. If they can save money by moving the game from three servers to two than they can spend that money and resources in other places to make the game better. I think that is the big thing a lot of these guys can't get in there head. 60-100 players average is not enough reason to keep servers up while in this stage of the game. I play on PvP2 and I been one of the ones that said we should merge the PvP servers, but my only complaint was that we need to put the server in a more Global location than the current EU/PvP1 server cause if we merged every one into a EU server it will hurt a lot of the SEA/AU/West Coast US players ping wise. I think getting every one onto one server (other than the EU guys that want there own times) is a good thing. No one promised any one they would have all the server with there PvE and there had been hints of doing a Pacific Coast part for the PvE guys all along so this isn't something new. Not to mention that map is honestly to big with the game size at this time and most areas are never fought over. We need to push the PvPers more into the same areas and let the Carebears and PvE guys have there own area. This option just allows us to play together if we want. I can go into the PvE areas and bring goods for some one that PvE to craft for me while supplying stuff that we can only get in the PvP areas of the game. I love to trade along with fight so I see it as one of the Hybrid players that is both a PvPer and PvEr.
