  1. Are there even towers in that port battle? The map of it doesn't show any. Even if they brought fast ships if they can control two circles by capping them they could easly won in fast ships. Though I think the wind was a problem by another post by one of them.
  2. but still no patch (from stuff tested in test bed) and the tested hasn't been updated. Kinda would like to see more stuff now than stuff that might come months from now.
  3. This is going to be interesting. Is there an expiration on the grants turned in? Cause say 25 guys take a port/region (notice you said port over and over so is the regional stuff going to still be around?) while 20 are active and they all turn in there grants to build. Well 4 of the 5 that don't go inactive and the 1 guy sales his to some one else. Well we now have 4 slots not being used. Is there any way folks can get those slots/grants later if no one uses them or can old grants be saved or do they expire? So that if you recapture a port and you have grants from last time you owned it will it work the next time your nation owns that port? Though the part about ports makes me wonder are we going back to the flag system of one port captured at a time instead of the region? I do see a problem with this system cause this means any one that doesn't do Port Battles won't be able to craft anything? So in theory one clan can control all the economy in a nation if they are the ones that all ways do the port battles (IE for example BLACK on PVP2 fills 20+ of the port battles with it's clan members).

While I wouldn't want them to stack, but would be nice when we craft a ship it became a note not the actual ship and we could stack though and keep them in ports like the notes you get from the ship chest and such. Cause I think we are going to have dock space problems with the new system. If you prefer to be in a crappy fir ship all the time than no wonder your going to sink a lot. I'll stay in my nicely built ship of my pref while I"m hunting you or any one else. Right now the Devs have said several times econ is not being tested. They want the market flooded with gold and mats so we can craft and test things. I'm sure once they are comfortable with those things we will get a proper wipe and actually get to test the economy, but we are not at that stage of the game. I would say produce them like crazy as when the wipe comes they will be needed for folks to pump out a lot of ships fast for every one. Exactly until they are ready to test the econ they need us to be flooded with money and mats to test other things. Same reason they been flooding us with ships. The more you have the more you can fight and test things for them. I'm sure they will do a good wipe before release. I bet you when they go into a beta stage or something.

  6. I gotten most of my good ones oddly from solo 152 fleet missions when testing out things like builds and new ships. I know it's just RNG but feels that way. Hell ever time I get one from a Lineship port battle or Curse fleet missions it's freaking grey lol
  7. We have so many to burn.....I want to plan a battle of crash up derby explosions for all sides to have fire ship fittings lol
  8. I do this too, but since I'm having a ship break up party the eve of the patch I'll make sure I have those resources moved to a free port or such. I think I'll be moving alot of stuff to one or two freeprots for storage until the patch and we know how the new shipyard works.
  9. Let me ask you how many times do you sink when your playing? Why would they be more expensive for a ship that only has one dura compared to the current ship that has 1-5 duras? You think the ships you are normally in lets say Frigates with 5 duras will get cheaper as they will cost 1/5th to make. Which means in place of that old one ship you can pay for 5 ships.
  10. I'm pretty sure all redeemables that have been redeemed will be wiped with all other ships. As for those that you haven't redeemebed I would assume unless it's something like the Yacht than it prob going to be gone. I'm going to leave my wappens and the Eny/Ind on my extra char that I never redeemebed them from just to see. YOu never know and hell I have all those on PvE server any way never redeemed with tons of other things from day one. Smuggler flag right now allows you to enter enemy ports in a trader. It will be removed from game so you can't use it any more. In the past it allowed you to attack that player as if they are a pirate (would like this part back for sure). This will make it that you have to capture a region to get region resources out of it (or buy from some one or use alts/spy/traitors). The main thing is lets just wait and see. I do hope they give us a few redeemables to help start things after the patch. Other wise getting stuff moved if you haven't is going to be a pain as most of us will be building combat ships first to replace our old ones. With the test server we will have a heads up of what to expect from the patch. So I would say when they put it on test server if you want to know whats going to be the new thing than jump onto it and check it out.
  11. Cause some of us been waiting three months for a patch to come out. We where suppose to get one soon with what was in test server. Who said what is in there not going to be implemented. I mean the 3 dura part won't be, but I bet you the structure part will be. How about Pirate vs Pirate? Some of us want something to do while you carebears are over on PvP1 or what ever your doing instead of fighting us on PvP2. Now with this patch notice if they don't release the things we where testing or part of it that means we have to wait another 2-6 (more like 8 cause they said end of April) weeks before we get any thing new.
  12. Unless things changed I was once in a shallow water port battle and held off the other team from the final tower (old system so could of been changed). Well I had only 1 killed and 2 assist when I died. But when the battle was over I had 2 kills and 6 assist. Though I did spread a lot of damage over a lot of ships at point blank range. Just cause you hit something doesn't mean you did a lot of damage and you have to do like 10-20% damage. You might not just didn't get enough damage spread out.
  13. there is 10K of players....just a few guys vocal on the forums is not a strong consensus for a post that only has been out a day. I only counted like half a dozen that said we should od one and there is how many post int his thread? 252 post and over 8K views. Even with multi post lets say it's a dozen players that is more the minority of the players.... We need resources to test building and such. Econ testing will come later. Prob when we get more to a beta stage and the game mechanics are worked out better. Go over to Test server and try to build a ship to test? Yah no resources means you can't build crap....that isn't what they want us to test on there so that is why we don't have resources.
  14. At this time it's only ship/upgrade (think paints too) for this one. We need to keep our meterials to build things and test. Though in the future what they are saying that they might wipe other things too. We all know that the only thing for certain is when release there will be a wipe most likely and we keep Rank/Crafting Level only. This is one of the few games I have done alpha testing for that didn't do wipes a lot. To be honest I think we should have had several over the last year. To many folks think of this game as the finished product and it's not even close to that stage yet. Though I think a full wipe would be good when they go for Beta and let us than test every thing before release with a clean slate.

  16. I been joining about doing something like this in the near future any way. Like every one bring fire ship fittings and brawl it out and than the last man standing on either side wins. Though I was thinking of doing it in small battles or something. I think we need to test these new features first before we wipe anything other than just the ships. Hard to craft a new ship and test them if you have nothing to build them with. That wipe should come later after the basic mechanics are worked out for the game and than we can test the econ part. That would be a good time to do a wipe and go to a beta stage the month or so before release. I'm kinda hoping to see those two show up, but maybe as special rewards from Admiralty shop or something. I would like the Endy and Indefati if I could craft the ones that I want and not some random builds. This was a NY gift ship. They should maybe give a redeemable of a new one but it's a special rewards ship like the SC. Maybe give us another one the next anniversary. Sounds like it, but we have 4-6 weeks until the patch goes into effect and we will have a heads up with the test server, but until than lets get out there and fight each other. I do plan to have a break up party the night before the patch and like most other major patches they pretty much gave us a week heads up.
  17. Vera Cruz Line ship Port Battle - 25 US/Brits vs 25 Pirates Good fight guys and congrats on the win. I will say the wind and some organization hurt the pirates side, but we will fix that next time. It came down to bad wind and who got the circles capped first. And remember guys with the new patch coming in a few weeks we should get all these old ships sunk and have some fun. I plan to do a break down part the night before the patch any way.

  19. Hell if we get the current Test bed patch they can fight each other. Cause we Pirates will be to busy doing BLACK ON BLACK when that patch comes out.....lol You can all ready capture 1st rates that are owned by players. I think it's good we can't capture NPC's SOL"s in real life you would send that prize back any way for the Admiralty to do as they please and recommissioned any way.
  20. Just give us a good heads up cause I think I would prefer to just break up all my ships the night of the patch. Now the question is is there going to be something to help folks get things moving that next day. I would say give us all a few redeemables for those that don't have the crafting means. IF not your going to kill a lot of casual players that don't have stocks of supplies.
  21. Take your time, learn the ships and learn the game. You be surprised how many folks rush up into the bigger ships and than get totally owned in battle cause they can't even do basic stuff like manual sail.
  22. Savana La Mar Lineship Port Battle - 3 Danes vs 25 Brits/US (thought ya'll where short guys) with around 3 out side. All I know is there was something interesting beforhand and don't call some one a "_____" .....but hay I did my job and killed the mortar brig.

  24. In game I really wish we had a reputation system aside from the RvR stuff. This could be a good replacement for say the smuggler flag function. I'll use my main char as an example. Sir Texas Sir: Pirate Curse Former US national at one time. I have been killed many a US/Brit/Dutch players as we are mostly at war with them. Though over the year I have also killed a few French/Swede/Spain chars too, but there numbers are very small. I would have a HIGH reputation as a pirate against the US/BRIT/DUTCH to the effect I couldn't even prob trade in those ports cause I have sunk countless numbers of there players and traders both Real and AI. They would be out to kill me on site and to do such would reward them with boosted XP/Credits. Now when you go look at the French and Swedes I have moderate reputation with them against there Navy, but I really never taken any of there traders. So I could use there trade ports, but I would be fair game for hunt but given normal xp/credits. As for Spain....they prob don't have a clue who I am other than that one poor new player I didn't mean to grape to death (back when the mechanics can kill all crew). So I would have little to no reputation with them. Now your reputation can also go up and down if you kill ships of one nation is at war with. So things like that. Maybe have titles for each level that your rep level gets to good or bad. Since I'm a former US player I would be even more hated by that nation with a bigger bounty for any of it's players that kill me.
  25. You know I think it's funny that one nation that seems to be one of the most populated nations bitches a lot about alts. Which by logic would mean ya'll would prob have just as many if not more alts than any other nation. I think the problem and seems the folks that bitch the most about alts and such, is they can't get it in there head that a few guys with alts are kicking the arse of a very larger group of folks of not one nations, but multi nations in one big alliance I'm going to make a big bet on here. Your nation prob has 10 times more alts than others and I bet ya'll you will find out that most of the exploiters of some of the recent known exploits aren't the folks with known alts, but most of the folks that we don't know have alts and remain silent about theirs. Remember the devs have said there was real life traitors and spy, "Loose lips sink ships." So maybe you need to watch what you say in global and well watch what you do in other places. Ya'll have just as many spies if not more than others do. Again if 25 guys with 1 alt (I'm just using random numbers here) to fill 50 player slots are beating 50 guys playing there one chars at the same time. That is not an alt problem that is a skill problem. You should not have an issue beating some one that is multi tasking at the same time. Unless the 50 guys are lacking the skills, communication and desire to work together. Than they prob will get beaten by the 25 guys with or without the alts every time. That what this section is here for. To make Suggestions so nothing wrong with that.
