  1. Some of the brits used a fireship on us last night. While it messed some us up, but it did more damage to them than us. Aggy boarding a Frigate and we both lost 220 crew. That instantly destroyed the Frigate that had preperation on me when I didn't.... So yah it's not all ways an effective thing and I was able to get back to 90% sails and some what good chunk of those crew back after it to still be combat effective in that fight. That certain group lost all 4 ships and we none. All it did was cost me some rum and repairs.
  2. I think I said it before just make it where you can't put certain skills on the basic cutter. It's meant to be a learning ship not the one you expert kite/kill 1st rates in. So it should be used as just that a learning ship or last ship in fleet. Really should be sent to closest out post you own when you killed not closes friendly so that way the only reason you shoudl use a basic cutter is if you are out of all your ships. Think of how POTBS had the fallbacks for when you ran out of ships, but you can only get a new one if you had no other ships at all. Something like that would keep the BC as a newbie learning ship and not a ship RA's use to have low risk high reward.
  3. Cause the majority of the players aren't hard core PvPers or RvRers. So they are happy with what they get and that is it. What we need is something to make them have to want to keep those lands. I honestly liked the old refits system being depended more upon the region ownership so there was a reason to own that region. The other thing is to many regions are captured and than folks don't do anything with it. They should have some degradation too, if you don't pay a tax for upkeep or something than it can get auto agro and be easy to flip by another nation. Though the owner of that region can set a tax on all sales to help with the upkeep and such. THey can set it high and be greedy over lords or low and eat most the cost themselves or their clan as it would prob more be clan owned. To many folks reap on the rewards of others that win those ports. I really loved the land grant concept ya'll came up with around when the patch was announced that got shelved within a day. I'm sorry the guys that do all the hard work should get the majority of the rewards. You want the better rewards get off your arse and fight for them. Part of the problem with the land giving pensions is right now it's the strongest and quickest that get the reward. SO it hurts the little guys in the long run. Specially when you have a very bad population balance towards one or two nations.
  4. That is good to know as I loved the Niagara and the Rattler and even the Heavy Rattler. I know I'm prob one of the few that enjoyed the old Ingermanland too. This will prob make a lot of folks happy when they return in the future.
  5. Yah I was one of the only active players to have the BP on PvP2 so I miss the little fun bastard. I prob sunk more in that ship alone than all the other ships combine, but it was fun to just play with and take a break from other things. Make it soon please.
  6. Funny thing is pre-wipe I tested a blue fireship on one....it didn't work out to well. I went into instant fireshock as all 40 crew went into survival and I had to keep them there or blow up. I got the fire out and didn't blow, but didn't seem to effective.
  7. It's always been like that for certain nations (I'm sure you can guess the ones) back on PvP2 and many of the carry over the same notion. They just can't get it in there head why they loose so much and part of that is they don't bring good ships built to fight, they bring crap from the store with no mods unlocked and base guns. While others build ships to fight and come expecting to loose it and if they do they will take out a few on the way. The two port battles I been on in GLOBAL I actually liked cause they did have such a mixed fleet, but we all know sooner or later it will get back to the meta of certain builds only in the port battles. This is why we prob should just stop the nation thing and make the RvR more about Clan vs Clan fights. Yah they are still effected by your nation, but it's in all honesty going to be the RvR guys that do them. If they brought that land grant system Devs brought up before the Merg I bet we would see a lot more of the carebears getting into the fights if they want to keep there land grants/buildings. That is why I like the CM system right now, but still needs some work to it. Maybe a clan owns the regions and they have to pay an upkeep or the region becomes easier to flip. The upkeep can be paid partially by a tax of all goods sold in that region. Things like that would make it more interesting.
  8. As the title says where is the gunboat in game. They even had an API skin titled fireship in game. When will we get these back into game? @admin So what is up with the gunboats?
  9. I see ya'll have folks blaming deals on the other server like we do. We gave up Santa Fe with no fight to the brits and they think cause we took Cap Frans we made a deal with the french. No we told them we where taking it and if they show up plan to be sunk. They didn't show up. That is not an agreement that is just declaring our intentions. My shallow water/light frigate Pirate has 4/5th rate Fireship fitting....along with grenades and well add in open Mags. I'm pretty sure it will be put to good use in a battle some time soon. TO REAL GOOD BOOM USE. Good use of any crappy captured ship we might come across. As long as they are ok with the damage and don't report it. Than it's not against the rules. Last night Brits on GLOBAL failed a frigate fire-ship in an open world battle. It did more damage to his own ships than to ours. Yah I lost most my sails and 200 crew, but the frigate that I was in board lost 200 crew also. A bigger hit to him than me as I was in an Aggy with 500 crew. Sneaky move on there part, but it's still a tactic and we will be watching for such in the future. Even more sneaky they where in our capital waters so it was like they did a suicidal mission. Shortly after that we caught another Brit clan that been bugging our traders. 5 Trincs and a speed fit Aggy. They tried to sink the Aggy since it wasn't going to escape...they couldn't and we ended up capturing it while the Trincs escape. Perfect acceptable tactics to try to keep a ship out of the enemy hands.
  10. Well congrats to the winners and interesting video....though this really should of been per server not top 3 of all players. It's really hard for the smaller pop servers to compete with the larger pop one. OH and 15 Ping? Where the hell do you live @TommyShelbyin the basement where the server is? lol
  11. love the spread sheet it helps me out a lot figuring out what to charge, though I'll admit right now with the way how things is no one is going to sale things for only a 5-10 mark up. And you don't take into account the current market price of any of the marks for the ship permits. The sad thing is I'm seeing folks post ships for way below cost and they are loosing money. Than you have other folks charging 4 times the cost to craft cannons and than wonder why no one wants to buy them.
  12. That can be exploited to much cause than you will have RA running around loaded with Permits and LC running around safe. What they should do is the basic cutters have no slots at all. It should be a start training ship. Or just make some modes like the fire ship not usable on the basic cutter.
  13. I would love to see buy orders in other ports. That way If I have goods in the port I'm crafting that others need in another port I can take it there and make some money if I have an over stock. Right now you have to go from port to port to see what folks ant. For the DUR thing I think it's fine, but they need to lower the cost of 6/7th rates cost to produce to help new players our. Right not the cost for those ships is to high. The PvP rewards need to be balanced better compared to the PvE rewards and rewards in groups. Right now it's more effective to run solo missions that to go group PvP or PvE. As for production buildings, one thing that will help new players is like the first out post have the first building slot free to craft. They could later do a tutorial that shows them how to set up a mine and such. Same with setting up your first Outpost beyound your capital. Capital port should all ways be free and shouldn't count towards your max ports. Ship dock space is still to high to expand. Most of us are running out of docks pretty early. Make if worse if you are a crafter trying to craft several ships at once.
  14. Yah I was looking around last night and it's starting to get that a lot of the ships are looking very much exactly the same. Would be nice if we could start getting these once again in drops or something. Even word of what they plan to do with them.

  16. @admin Are we every going to get ship paints back? Starting to get a bunch of ships that all look the same. Would be nice if these could be dropped into the loot tables maybe or something?
  17. PvP rewards need to honestly be reworked. It rewards the solo player more and than it encourages kill steal and every man for them selves in fights. I think the problem would be fix if they didn't make the reward split between all in the fight. Every one should get a base reward xp (both win and looser) for damage. Than reward the Assit and kills with the marks/credits. Every Assist is 1 PvP mark and a kill is 2 PvP marks. Maybe weight it for BR difference in the fight that if you take a bigger ship you get more marks than the base if you have a lower BR. Admin mention they are looking into doing some changes to rewards. We did get them to drop the -xp in fights if you didn't get any rewards cause we where getting -xp a lot when we captured ships. So expect some changes. I think we are getting 10.3 this week so it will have a few changes in it.
  18. POTBS had a system you can offer at start of battle when pretty much being tagged to offer part of your cargo. So something like that where if they put up the surrender and it gives a terms and you accept the battle will be over and they can escape once you pick up the cargo or gold offered in exchange for keeping you ship, but than again loosing your ship is still a risk. I don't have to keep my agreement once I inspect your cargo. It's a risk one can take, but I would prob let low levels go if I inspect there cargo's and they pay me a bribe to let them live. You know like pirates actually did.
  19. Without the sheep there would be no wolves....so yah you need a balance of PvE and PvP on a server. The capping of all ships on PvE made me think that the end game is going to get real boring for you guys cause you don't have to craft big ships, just go cap them. They should of keep ti to 4th rates and below captured so y'all would still have to craft any SOL's. Seem to me with every one being able to capture them your market is going to get gold flooded way faster than either of the PvP servers. Speaking of which I need to log onto PvE and set up my chars some times soon. That way they can store up Labor Hours if some one wants to buy them off me. Need to do the same with PvP EU too.
  20. While it's down I would say some of ya'll should pop over to Global and play. It's all ways good to have a back up plan if you need one and well we could always use a few more players. Seems to be the thing this week as we had server issues a few days again. Guess PvE will be next or they down too cause of being in the same location as the EU?
  21. Yah they should of put the Heavy Rattler in the Pirate Den since the Nats get the Aggy's and SOL's and we only get a Pirate Frigate (well now we get 3rd Rate and Bellona). To many would complain even though Pirates should be master of the shallows and Nationals the big ships. Though really I don't get why they removed the Rattler's (both types), Niagara and the Ingermanland. They mention they will be used for stuff later, but that is freaking what a year from now? After release? When? I mean a lot of folks want the Wappen in game, though I expect it's going to be a reward ship like the SC. Speaking of another ship they should put in the Pirates Den. Nats can keep the stinking SOL's if we got these two ships with the P Frigate I'll be a happy camper. It's not like folks couldn't capture them or just make some trade to get them.
  22. Yah admin has stated it's on the to do list so maybe when the UI will get updated close to release and we might get a logger for who puts stuff in and take out of the warehouse. If he has not redeem anything he can just delete his char and it goes to the next officer. Though I would demote every one except who he wants to give it to and than delete char, than give officer status afterwards to every one that was officer.
  23. For the OP 40% is a bit high, I would say more like 20% and I like this. Small chance that you can save the refits and perm upgrades when you break up the ship. Cannons I can see as this is something Pirates/Privateers would do cause cannons where worth a lot and some times a ship might have some better cannons than you had. Maybe just give a small chance to salvage some of the cannons like when you come up to the AI ships. This way you can get a source of other cannons than just mediums in game and not bring the whole ship back. I think the break down of mats should only be reserved for when your back in port. Maybe even limit it to only those with shipyards can salvage from a ship a percentage of the mats from it's building. I would love to see some more refits too instead of just the Pirate Frigate that are made from capture/built ships that you bring in and refit. Would be a great thing for pirates if we ever got our own mechanics, but than that will prob never happen so lets just be able to break them down for a portion of the mats.
  24. I would just be happy with clan flags. Even if they are the only ones that see it. Every one else see's your nation flag, but fellow clan memebers will see your clan flag instead. That way in battle you can tell who is your clan members just by the flag on the ship.
  25. Yah it's been in game but just depends on how bad the fire is and where it's located. Sounds like you light up pretty good than. Just be glad it didn't make it to your mag.
