  2. we never changed anyones name except for those 2 mentioned in the tribunal. you probably did not notice it the first time.
  3. If you name things as they are - open world map is a travel map. Some developers choose to visualize is in isometric 2d (city of abandoned ships game), some make it small scale cartoony 3d (potbs). Our travel map is a 3d world. 1. no - you can only see the symbol on the map that there is a battle here - thus you don't need to bypass anything - just sail further. 2. we don't see a problem. 3. you can if that particular battle type allows it.
  4. first they will stay just like now some time after they will start using open world weather and time of the day maybe in the future (if we make it look good) we can them resemble surrounding area instance positioning will replicate positioning on the open world. so if you catch someone against the wind - it will be a position used for instance... relative distance will also be replicated. If officer perks are implemented eventually (based on testing) certain navigational skills will allow to improve position on the battle map.

    use navalactioncrashsender.exe located in your game folder. to send this crash report when it happens again.
  6. Paid escorts or friendlies can enter the battle during certain time, after that time passes the battle will be closed and impossible to enter. The time needs to be determined by testing. After you exit the battle you will be invisible and not able to engage in combat for 1 minute. This time will let you disengage on the open map as well. After you exit the battle you will appear on the open world map where you entered it. If you are in hostile waters it will be harder to disengage because of no friendly ports near by.
  7. in the open world we are using the following mechanic after the start of the battle 1) time x - during this time you cannot exit and can try to disengage at your best angle 2) after time x passed a new timer starts: time y - if you are not damaged or did not damage the opponent during this time you can exit the battle.
  8. e-sports games grow - they are not created artificially. If Naval action e-sport movement will start growing and will become big we will support it and will help it. Current priorities are actually to make the game first and release early access (at least) lets come back to this discussion at a later stage. We will keep the discussion open to hear ideas and suggestions that could make group combat interesting to be exciting to watch and interesting to play.

  10. Steam (we hope) will come within 1-2 months. We have replaced the infrastructure somewhat to support open world and need to test it with current alpha owners (gradually increasing the numbers in the open world build by invitations until we bring everyone in). If there are no problems with the new infrastructure - steam will come the next week. If it is not working well there might be delays.. but sea trials will stay supported for a while for safe sailing without problems.

  12. Hello Captains As we said before - a well timed curse or swearing can lighten up a conversation. (*****ing weather). But using profanity against other players or his relatives is forbidden. We know that frustration can be very powerful and you can still address the captain causing this frustration. Age of sail gentlemen were polite but they could be angry. One of you posted the spectacular guide on how to address another captain if you are very frustrated. I am not an english speaker - so don't know if some of the words here are offensive. But if i was address in this way i would be less willing to go to tribunal because of this.
  13. скорость обоих кораблей основной параметр - должна быть ниже 4х узлов по моему. + камера должна быть направлена на цель абордажа.

  15. при атаке если противник защищается баррикадируясь (defend) ваши потери будут больше А так working as intended - первые два раунда дают существенное преимущества и ошибки в них решают. формула будет доработана чтобы не затягивать проигранные бои. Но в будущем будут абордажные апгрейды и офицеры которые будут существенно повышать параметры атаки или защиты. Также появится больше команд.
  16. в uncharted waters там инсты сами локации. мир поделен на квадраты каждый отдельный инст. Боевые инсты решают больше проблем, чем создают. Мир будет более локализирован. Перевести флот в другую часть карты будет занимать время, соответственно ощущение дома и своих вод будет больше.

    we promised several wipes. so the answer is - yes ship resets will happen.
  18. We fixed the typo..Now the sales will skyrocket to the moon. I can't believe we missed it and no-one told us. Btw - based on Evolve or Star citizen pricing we should have been charging like 60-99 dollars or something. We will definitely raise the price eventually but not now, as we promised not to do it before EA launches on steam (some people hate paypal that they will better wait)
  19. We cannot and will not prohibit the use of voice coms. Its a game - doing something like that would be very invasive We are not planning to build voice comms in. There is enough trolling in chat (that we will be fixing within 1-2 months). Adding live voice will make you wonder and doubt the purpose of humanity. People who know each other can use dozens of secure and reliable voice com software without us spending time on making something that already works much better. We would prefer to integrate better chat and start working on crafting.

  21. if you are online. you already can fight against bots.. alone.
  22. подзорная труба будет.. видимость сейчас реальная.. (под скейл карты) корабли видно с 20-30км в хороших погодных условиях. в туман видимость меньше, к портам врага в туман можно пробраться незамеченным, но очень сложно ориентироваться куда идешь.
  23. карта реализована по принципу КО.. ну и корсаров собственно. изза сложности боя по другому не как. Глобалка это один большой мир.. под ней инсты где идут бои. скорость на глобальной карте зависит от корабля и его апгрейдов. изменений в скорости нет, иначе ганкер сможет держать корабль и в открытом мире. Нападая на корабль вы попадаете в инст где бой идет по текущим принципам. бой заканчивается вы снова попадаете на открытый мир с минутной невидимостью и неуязвимостью (и невозможностью начинать бой - чтобы не прыгать в другие бои) пару игровых суток. если вы быстрее преследователи отстанут и пропадут с горизонта. если медленнее то они вас нагонят. Враги на горизонте будут если вы ходите во вражеских зонах, или они сами пришли к вам к вашим портам. Карта пока реальная.. дальше будем смотреть и видоизменять по необходимости, благо землетрясения там были часто. Пустые водные пространства есть. земли не видно. приходится ориентироваться по солнцу, звездам и неписям которые знают куда идут. просто. видите корабль если дистанция атаки позволит атаковать атакуете. как говорили физики скорость понятие относительное. на очень большой карте такая скорость не кажется большой, разве что относительно волн.
