Well Their attack cant really be so surprising. Rules state that port battle can only happen in the next 47 hours. Also if french are so evil to sweden. what are you doing in navasse. Hunt french. You might even provide info on the assault fleet route because they cant teleport remember. they have to sail!

Traditional MMO caps are in place. (but not all are added) For example speed cannot reach more than 15 knots and it does not matter how many upgrades you place. No ship could travel more than 15 knots (sustained) until clippers were invented.

But still . how long from la navasse to jamaica? or to mortimer? 20-25 mins to visit both capitals on a fast ship. If you know where enemies are you actually dont spend time at all. And finding where enemies are is half the fun. And because everyone is now sailing you definitely know they are not teleporting.

marks can be exchanged the current conversion is a non-feature (on testbed) also because of lack of targets pvp rewards will be useless anyway. In the future players will be able to convert conquest marks and pvp marks into pve marks if needed.

We had bigger population and more stable without fast travel (with 4 hour cooldown) We had bigger population with longer grind and lowered it because players thought hmm maybe i need victory faster We had added events for so called pvp players (who asked for more motivation) but yet.. many who asked grind them on each other without fighting.. Here is what we found. PVP Players (real ones) they don't need motivation or encouragement. They just need targets. We will provide targets - everyone will be happy.

That was a two chair position. When ass sits on two chairs it grows fat. See the final circle is this You will be able to pvp for several hours in any ship you want. If you are skilled - you will capture ships and repairs and good s and have no problem doing it non stop. But if you face skilled opponents a lot you will sink. And to pvp for several hours you will have to have crafters helping you. And those crafters have to haul goods And hauling goods they will have to be protected And they will get attacked by other pvp oriented players (sometimes for several hours) And there will be a lot of pvp and social content as a result So you will get your several hours. If you are prepared. If you are not prepared what are you doing at sea?

damage does not matter now. damage only determines who gets the kill and who gets assist. damage does not give you anything in terms of XP or money. If you shoot and run you get nothing.

We actually think less buldings will be a great econ perk for the game. Too much resources reduces will to trade and move around the world. 5 buildings will be tested after the wipe. But might cut it even more or greatly increase costs of expansions (that will require something from the OW). Like PVE marks or PVP marks or Conquest marks. Basically everything will be tied to player presence in the OW. If you are not hunting the OW for players or Bots or not Trading the resources you will have NOTHING, no xp, no money no fame.

it will be fine @JobaSet. I think you have not yet fully seen the pve/pvp/conquest mark systems in action. We think it will be awesome, just like your livestreams. You also might be witnessing bugs instead of features in some cases

yes. sink the derelict (hulk), it will be fast cos noone is inside anymore. But before - check the hold by pressing X.

sink the hulk get the rewards. Sinking is what matters for xp rewards and cash. If you capture - admiralty gets NOTHING so why should admiralty reward you for nothing?

Current money, current xp was always temporary and for EA only - we said in the beginning we will spoil you with fast xp and lots of money and no resource problems during testing. No captain in history had 40 docks for him self. We give you 20 docks (this number is not final and might change again because databases are expensive, maybe we can provide bigger expansion option for real money).

I played quite some time ago. But it still does not matter. In dark souls you get only 5 resets. In some games you dont get it at all. Its not an arena game remember. Choices matter now. (but we are making an arena game because we know some dont like hardcore, but thanks god we dont have to sit on 2 chairs in this game anymore)

Well. What if it is a free Ocean who just surrendered? And to get the permit to build it you have to pay 20 conquest marks for example. + spent 2-4 weeks on resources + pay up to 6-9 mln dubloons in shipyard fees + labor hours I doubt its a loss. Its a win win. He spend months on that Ocean and gave them to you for free.

My first reset in casual wow was 30 gold. It took me a week to earn it. But when i levelled i found that it is even more expensive (depended on level) This is an MMO. think about your actions and choices, and chose wisely. When we added a reset button we always said it was temporary.

you get 5 slots from the start and then can expand it to 20, further expansions will be possible in the future.

Well we thought like carebears for like 9 months. Now its full hardcore mode. Ships will become important and people will be very upset losing them - to you!.

The system is simple now. Sink the ship - get rewards Capture the ship - the ship is the reward. Previously the ship was not felt like a reward. It did not feel like content. It did not matter. We are changing ECO and everything that SHIP IS THE REWARD now. Think about it.. Ship is the reward. No more free lunch. Ship is the reward. Cherish it - get it home safely because you dont have to craft it, spend permits or do anything else if you captured it. Some vessels will be more important than couple of levels of XP actually. So think about it again. Ship is the reward.

You get 5 docks for free then you expand it to 20 by 3 docks (every expansion is more expensive) You can keep them in any port with an outpost (warehouse). We are no longer limiting the number of ships per port by 5 basically. You can have all 20 in one outpost
