We have 2 large fleets sailing per nation and there are some epic events scattered around the world for that. When we had huge supply of large fleets in the world a lot of players were upset with them as they interfered with privateering and pvp in general (at least a lot of players on this forum).

describe interesting fleets? ps rattle and inger will be added by other means NPC ship capture will be enabled on the PVE server. On the PVP server we want to promote PVP and want to remove the ability to capture line ships promoting crafting of them instead.
-
how many line ships port battle ports are there compared to shallow water and frigate PBs?
-
the main unsolved question of conquest is this: is it slow and deliberate (arranged) like the tournaments - with limited number of PB per day (full PBs) or is it sandbox style - conquer everything if you wish to sail there with no limits on conquest first one is a show of force where only the strongest win. second one allows smaller nations to operate and reconquer by operation outside of main routes of strongest nations. all the other mechanics are somewhat tested and do not have unsolved answers maybe with the lack of teleports the limits on the number of PBs should be removed. Nations should attack ports as they see fit in the regions they are willing to sail to.

can you explain?

New System Of Marines
admin replied to William Death's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
historically (we have found the reference) the number of marines was almost always somewhat equal to the number of guns on the ship +/- 20 soldiers. We found this later after the changes to marines were done. So marines are not final as well as boarding bonuses.- 23 replies

dont understand this - is this a suggestion? In this case if you are a swede operating in the gulf from a free town - if you sink you will be sent where? to swedish region across the whole map??
-
yes - we plan to reformat the skill book information panel and will provide this info. (don't know when yet)
-
yes. this is needed. Ships that are part of the player fleet should be capture able.
-
you can get conquest marks in shallow waters too. and in frigate battles. i am not sure why you call this - absurd grind. Win a full port battle (25 players) in navy brigs and pickles and your nation has 25 conquest marks. (also remember that pve server will have different prices)
-
It could provide some advantage but you will be teleported to the pier. and will still have to sail out the circle to enter. If you are a defender you can tp to outpost anyway. TP to friendly port was basically giving the same advantage before using any NPC on the open world.
-
National effort. Your nation wins 2 full port battles (defense or attack) and you have 50 marks. Instead of grinding 40 more port battles you share the marks and have one first rate blueprint forever for your dedicated crafter and several permits to build 1-2 of them. Now you can bring 2 first rates into the port battle. Winning 1 more port battle you can build 5 more first rates using permits. Defending is easier so if you are constantly under attack and can defend well, you actually build up a good fleet faster. I think its a good system (not perfect, but good) that will naturally limit the number of first rates in PB and will bring variety of other ships into the fray. ps. Destroying enemy first rates can be a victory even if you lose the port battle.

to overcome the quota please use imgur.com create your account there and just add BB Forum links (instead of uploading them to the forum directly)

Its an unstuck feature - it is not completely safe but usually it is impossible to get stuck in very active areas. It is not very useful for transport or travel.

try this

nice signature. pretty old statement

Two routes.. scouts from privateer to the constitution standards from pickle to 1st rates Both routes do not have interconnected ships as before both start from basic cutter the trees are not final - we will post them once we are sure
-
We mentioned before that we plan to add 1 min invisibility to the weaker side (like it was some time before). Side which BR was lower on battle closure will have 1 min invisibility on exit. This will give some breathing room to disengage.
-
Thats not correct - constitution does not require cerb, snow, cutter, brig line. thats a line leading to ships of the line. We will repeat again. Assume 3 knowledge slots as a new normal. Even casual wow requires months of investment into full sets of high end gear.Previous free cookies system was a mistake. You can't be fully effective in everything

yes please report locations of bots sailing through land. just name look at the bot and hit F11

NA is an open world MMO. The new game (so called arena) is going to be a separate game. We have not picked the name for the title (and pricing) yet. But its going to get into closed beta testing this year. PS .. by the way did you see our comment above that it was not an attack but to attempt to bring another perspective on retention numbers ?
-
hmm what did give that impression? Never had that goal We are just trying to explain that the number 80% is actually average and is not bad. its like saying.. he died at 80 very bad. Of course its bad but ..if everyone dies at 80 it becomes a norm. If he died at 30 but everyone dies at 80 then its very very bad. Probably its bad analogy but it explains it best.

Thats a not a bad and not a good number. Its somewhat meaningless during EA. And its ok for a game with out UI. 80% of players never buy a second tank in world of tanks. 40% of players never reach 3rd boss in dark souls (with only 20% reaching the final boss) That number sounds scary but its normal of the industry. Its very hard to improve it because players move on very fast these days and we doubt tutorials will help. UI will improve retention to dark souls levels. (with 60% reaching the brig) but they will sill fall off. Based on sales it is already an indie hit. Not many games reach 100,000 sales during EA. And it will sell another 100-150k after release. Our goal is to increase retention for those players. Many players who play now just don't have that perspective and don't understand the experiments that are being conducted. You captured that well in your article. it is similar to that darkest dungeon story.

We don't see any developer comments in it. You have never approached us to comment. 1) you exaggerate the negativity. Forums are always full of negative people. Overall rating is good and you conveniently forget to mention that. Forums are always full of people who don't like something. The rest are just playing in silence. 2) 80% players leaving is normal for every game. check out fallout 4 numbers. Also that number is not really correct AND depend on the time period. Also a of those players are waiting for ui and full release. 3) you can be the first official source to announce naval action arena that actually will bring awesome sea trials back. That game will have zero problems from NA. ps. steam link would be good

first rates maintenance is a clan/national effort. Those are carriers of those times. The titans of the sea. Also repairs are almost free in ports.
