  1. We find it logical that national governments provide their nationals with blueprints and permits. While pirates, not having such governments have to use what they have and try to capture or acquire those resources by other means. But this is not of course final. We wanted to make pirate life to resemble pirate life more than before. Current changes bring us closer to that goal.
  2. Pirates can craft ships of the line if they get the hold of a blueprint and permits. Pirates can also sail whatever they can capture from players (or buy from players).

  4. I believe you generalize too much here. The first rule on this forum is to treat everyone with respect. We do follow this rule. Delays happen and that is why we always say - expect the worst and all dates and times are not final. Saying that is not showing disrespect to anyone, patch delay is not and act of disrespect. Game development is not a highly predictable activity like driving a bus and even buses get late. And we do have FULL control on steam community forums. Having a hammer does not mean using it all the time. Steam platform is where players can fully express themselves (within things allowed by a steam eula). On this platform we want to promote constructive discussions that are useful for us and other forum members. Noise in feedback topics like "omg patch delayed devs are incompetent" has no value and will be removed from the feedback topics on this platform. By spreading such noise they are not acting in the best interest of the project, they just show disrespect to all community members who come here to help us to make the game better.

Community works here to make a game better. If as a member of a community you are interested in something you must ask us here and spread the news when you find out. Its your responsibility as a community member. People on steam could be upset because we indeed should be present more there. But community members here cant be upset. sorry. If you have not asked the question its not our fault. Users here talk to me daily and are not mute ladies who require an invitation to ask a question to me or mods. If someone does not like development forum style here there is always steam forums where specially trained moderators will always talk to you nicely and in a neutral manner. This is not a steam forum - this is a garage with dirt and smoke and sweat you know. Its a place for sailors.
  6. I think you misunderstood our statement. We try to establish realistic hard deadlines and sometimes they get broken. And sometimes they work. We truly wanted to deliver the patch in april. But actually said that dates are not final and are never final. Remember that we are not in the Airport business or tram or train business or public bus business. With this in mind what's your point again?
  7. we are realistic with our timing. We expected to deliver it on the 15th first and then date slipped because of reasons. Did not you check my signature on how dates work in the best game development firm in the world (valve)? Maybe you should check it to see how couple of days can easily turn into 3 months? I wonder what would you prefer.. Say 15th april and then slip for a month or month and a half? say 2019 and overdeliver by a year or year and a half? Based on your posts you seem to prefer the second option
  8. we always say two things - times are not final and are estimated expect the worst We are not sure how this can be read as a lie. also remember that work tends to fill all the the time allocated to it. Thus if you don't set up shorter deadlines you will always work longer.

  11. thank you everyone for the sharing. We will definitely try to take all into account when tuning old features or proposing new ones. Some of the changes are already being done. Keep them coming. Its exciting to read this thread.
  12. Is it for combat ships? When sinking/boarding combat ships in missions i constantly get both rig and hull repairs.

  14. something like this can also bring balance to the universe indeed. BTW Costs of permits can be changed on the fly without patching. So whatever numbers are in game now - can be changed if it does not work.

  15. you still have the 4th rate port battles and shallow port battles. You can just completely avoid line ship battles if you wish so and just be kings in the bahamas and in 4th rate regions.
  16. thats the pve server conversion. There will be no conversions on the pvp servers - players will determine the conversion rates through market by placing contracts and exchanging marks between themselves.

  17. каннибализация будет минимальна - скорее наоборот. Новые игроки поиграв в сессионку захотят попробовать открытый мир. А старые игроки кому нравились бои и не нравился открытый мир сейчас и так не играют им надо кнопку в бой с рандомами. Те кому нравится ощущение охоты и поиска цели где ты контролируешь все (включая состав своей группы) останутся в ОМ.

На сайте Тринкомали вообще еще в производстве числится. Крафт есть ранги абордаж есть захват портов есть. 10 Кораблей есть. Реалистичный ландшафт по картам 18 века. Огромная карта с изменением погоды и времени суток и миллионами квадратных километров воды. Сендбокс - полная свобода действий в воде океане. Словами классиков - хочешь пей хочешь стирай .. Из недоделанных вещей только Локализация и Интерфейс. Может вы себе напридумывали каких то воздушных замков которых мы вам не обещали? по времени проведенному в игре мы на отличных позициях средние часы - выше Дейзи. в топ 10 среди игр находящихся в раннем доступе. Недоделанной игре было бы сложно там оставаться так долго.Ведь в недоделанной игре нечего делать. может просто вы устали наигрались и стали хейтерами? из-за завышенных ожиданий к неопытным разработчикам?

  20. Ну судя этой логике новые игры никогда бы не появлялись. Все бы до сих пор играли в первую цивилизацию так как выпуск второй цивы однозначно забрал игроков из первой и сид меер не стал бы делать вторую. В сессионке не будет открытого мира - для кого то это положительный фактор для кого то недостаток.

  22. If raids provide some rewards no-one will come to defend. It will be more beneficial to just sail around raiding everything separately (preferably not seeing enemies)
  23. Raids are undercooked and don't provide challenge unfortunately in their current iteration - bots are too stupid around land and its not going to be fixed fast. If bots are stupid then raids will just look like - sail to point a and click a button (robbing a port or something). the RVR is under review and we already change some things in hostility generation and will soon announce ideas for discussion for port conquest itself. Changes leading to final state of RVR will be done after wipe patch. There are several things under consideration Bring distance control back - (assault flag could live for 1 hour) allowing port capture only up to a certain distance from your national ports Remove or increase limits of number of port battles per day Remove 46 hours cooldown or reduce it. Remove port battles as they are completely and make regional ownership depend on multiple raids and economy influence. (allowing to keep one pvp server)
  24. so do you think the island/port hopping strategy is better than unlimited region capture? (where you can sail anywhere and capture anything?) also do you think ability to capture all ports was better than capturing regions?
