In most of the countries that play this game you are not allowed to say anything you want while on other's property. You're in Admin's house, under Admin's rules. He would like to keep the game relatively troll and flame free. If you are unable to control yourself and treat others with respect, you're playing the wrong game.

Hot fix was released to address an issue with Instances crashing. Leaks are being looked at but are "as intended" for this patch. Please provide feedback in the existing thread: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/13144-leak-sunk-issue Thanks!

You can imagine how useless that forum would be with 4,000 players posting buy, sale, and trade messages every day. Hopefully we'll be able to get a Bazaar area set up for this purpose, and if not, maybe some enterprising Captain will set up a separate forum to use for that. If they do, I'll be happy to sticky a thread with the link.

How to fix port battle timers

Seems to be up for me over here. They have been having some connectivity issues with that server cluster lately, you might have fallen afoul of a blip. They're working on getting it stabilized as soon as possible.

Consensual green on green damage, especially to deny a resource to the enemy, or, for example, asking a friendly to ram between you and an enemy locked in boarding action to prevent you from losing, is ok. Nonconsensual green on green is not ok. Bear in mind that consensual or not, doing too much green damage will cause you to run afoul of the automated systems, so use consensual green on green damage frugally.

How awesome that you have those letters! Definitely something to treasure.

5 minutes allow ships that are nowhere near you at battle start to join in. 5 minutes ensures that you have no idea what the battlefield will look like and, in fact, causes highly coordinated packs communicating via voice comms to become even more powerful. This isn't counter intuitive - the longer the timer, the farther away a large group can come from to jump into a battle. The smaller the timer, the better the ability for a lone ship or a very small group to be able to attack knowing that the enemy's instant communications aren't going to land 23 ships on their head in short order.

PvP 2 Disconnected within a minute of logging in.
Henry d'Esterre Darby replied to David Batista's topic in Support
Please click "Play" on Steam, then select "Run Connection Test" (or something similar). Once you've done this, please post the bug number here for further action. My wireless router is currently dropping packets on a reasonably frequent basis, about every 5 minutes or so. I have the same thing happen unless I'm hard wired - the chat disappears, and shortly after I'm staring at a login screen. Packetloss somewhere between you and the server is likely to blame - a connection test might help the Devs identify where the weak link is. Thanks.- 1 reply

Rules sub-forum
Henry d'Esterre Darby replied to Mongoose McMoose's topic in Forum and website problems and improvements
No, green on green damage is never ok. Because the game places green ships in very close proximity at the beginning of the battle, there are rules that no matter what, you are either to assist any green ship in your battle in defeating the red ships, or, if they're your mates or are otherwise unpalatable for you to attack, you sail in the opposite direction and leave the battle at your earliest convenience. Allowing green on green given the current ship placement is a recipe for griefing and unfair play. Perhaps in the future, if the way ships are positioned at the beginning of the battle is changed, or other mechanics are changed to allow more than two sides (unlikely so far, but you never know), this rule may change. For now, though, it is absolute - no green on green damage, and no intentionally hindering a green ship (e.g. positioning yourself so they can't fire while you don't fire on the reds either, etc). -
Rules sub-forum
Henry d'Esterre Darby replied to Mongoose McMoose's topic in Forum and website problems and improvements
The specific word is "kill", not "sink". This is important due to game mechanics. A kill is awarded for a certain amount of damage done, which means if you do enough damage to a friendly, and they sink, you get a kill mark against your name. A few of those and you will be automatically sanctioned by the game. That said, egregiously killing a teammate can result in you needing to apologize and provide them with compensation, assuming a successful tribunal occurs. Yes, the rules are a bit vague. Right now, they're effectively summed up as "don't be a jerk". If you're not being a jerk, you have nothing to worry about. More obvious and better written rules will likely come as release approaches. For now, we're in testing, and the rules are fluid as people prove just how many ways they can be jerks to their fellow Captains. Don't be a jerk. It's pretty easy really. -
Green on Green Abuse (More evidence) (Pirate)
Henry d'Esterre Darby replied to Tugmund's topic in Tribunal - Трибунал
This is not Bartholomew Fair gentlemen. If you're not directly involved in a tribunal, either to add evidence or defend yourself against charges leveled against you, you are not to post. Period. Continued spamming of Tribunal will result in warnings. Thank you. -
Is the Snow model too small?
Henry d'Esterre Darby replied to Deltrex's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
I'm sure the dimensions on it are perfect. I just noticed, whilest in the cutter yesterday, how the cutter looks so much larger. -
Is the Snow model too small?
Henry d'Esterre Darby replied to Deltrex's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
It looks tiny next to the cutter. I've wondered the same. -
We issue quite a few bans. Some of us announce it, and some don't (I usually issue a game warning, and then if they persist the 24 hour ban follows quite shortly after). Quite often, the offender suddenly goes silent and it may not be apparent that we're doing anything about it. If you're being toxic or violating the rules, we'll get you for it, no worries about that.

I think we have enough to go on from this so far. This is under review. -
Ship duels - feedback needed
Henry d'Esterre Darby replied to admin's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
If there's going to be XP/Gold rewards - then durabilities should be lost. If no XP/Gold rewards - then durabilities should NOT be lost. I suppose there's two ways to approach this: 1. As a pure training room where you may train people and practice in a risk free environment. 2. As a head to head dueling system where things matter. I'd prefer #2. Make losses matter in the duel rooms, this will help to encourage people not to just sit there and use it all day in lieu of open world. Absolutely no dueling from the Open World - This should be available from port only. Such a feature means any time you wanted to avoid a fight, you just click your mate and duel. Poof, you're gone, your enemies left sitting on an empty sea. -
Wow, we're totally done here. Clean this topic up?
