  1. False flags are extremely complex, I once tried to write up a feature description for them, and realized just how many mechanics either have to change, don't work, etc when you try to do them. To do them well would be extraordinarily difficult. As to capitals moving, there are many complexities here as well, though there have been some good suggestions about having multiple capitals for some nations and/or allowing players to set a "home port" instead.
  2. Let's get back on topic please. This is potentially planned as "national charters". Admin alluded to it above when he mentioned the Polish and other countries taking over part of the Bahamas. Allowing the pirate faction's members to create a historical nation and split off would indeed create a lot of interesting gameplay and meta, as well as allowing the pirates to grow/contract based on internal politics and other factors.
  3. Removed unnecessary poll. Answers can be had in the thread responses. I'm not a big fan of Rennommee, but then, I haven't sailed her in months either.
  4. I wish, that last port battle would have been a lot more entertaining....
  5. Two mods playing in a port battle is not bias in any way, shape or form. We are policed by the other mods and Developers, and that's all that needs to be said for now. Mods are obvious from their coloring in the game, it's not like they can sneak around.
  6. Please see this thread: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/2533-a-short-guide-for-novices/
  7. This usually means you said something objectionable in chat, or your character name is considered to be offensive. Hopefully Ink will be along to check into things to make sure it's just just a bug. Please post your server and character name.
  8. No thank you. Players are too fast to scream bias on the mods that have published their nations. Those that have not are better able to moderate from a neutral standpoint. Admin has this information, as too do the other moderators and staff. This is not information that needs to be published.
  9. No. Maturin has the absolute right of it. Small ships should be ignored by far larger ships - they're no threat and we should not make game mechanics to make them a bigger threat.
  10. A port reset is still some ways off. There are related features that must be handled first.
  11. I think this thread has run its course. We're supposed to be keeping it light and fun.
  12. No worries, welcome to the forums.
  13. Next time, please right click the person's name on the bad speech and click "Report". The person will find their ability to chat removed in short order. Thank you.
  14. There is no official year that I'm aware of. Most of us choose a year somewhere between 1775 and 1810 or so. Some ships date from nearly 1820.
  15. We generally allow people to do this in the Tavern board.
  16. There were no rollbacks, unless you committed too much green on green damage. I suspect you're choosing the wrong server. Try the other servers and see if the character you expect is on one of them.
  17. There are already four or five pirate threads that we've left open. Please use one of those. Closing as a duplicate.
  18. There are already a number of posts on Lighthouses. Thank you for posting, please search for Lighthouse and you will be able to add to the ideas already presented. Closing as a duplicate.
  19. Thank you for posting. Please perform a search on key terms prior to posting. Locking as a duplicate.
  20. Welcome back sir!
  21. The Developers don't like the idea that, due to some bad random numbers, you could be becalmed or unable to reach port for an extended period of time. At the moment, the inexorable rotation of the wind is to ensure that, for a majority of the time, you have wind in a direction that will work for where you want to go, while still forcing you to sail and beat up from time to time. Having trades, or other systems that prevent you from reaching your destination for a long period of time would, naturally, cause a lot of rage amongst players. Hence, for now, the auto-rotating wind is a compromise to playability.
