  1. Might worth a try to play the game in window mode if you are running it in full-screen. Had similar issues due to it in the past. Never again once I switched to window.
  2. On the Map as "M". Can work perfectly.
  3. It is a ||N8|| movie and very happy Game Labs had him as a chosen oficial trailer . He is one of the most awesome Simulator movie makers, has a very nice style. It focus in the action, that's true. Another one from him. Remember, there's no replay function for us fans to work on movie making. ( DEVS i'll pay extra for that function !!! )
  4. AtomicMoose: I am not against the game changing at all. I think you are placing me under your standards which are not even in the same line as my own. I want the game to change to even a better representation of the age of sail conflicts in the high seas without resorting too much on easing down. But that's me. I like the challenge of having to make a pre-flight check, the engine warm up, the rev up and the take off. Also I like to feel the bird flying as she should and not how I want it to. Want to feel the lift and the pull and the touch down. And if I fail any of these then I deserve to go down in a ball of fire and to restart from scratch. Every sortie must be diferent, every course a novelty. Exactly the same with NA as with flying a propeller bird. If I was a "stupid" fanboy i'd say no bird eye camera and only 1st person on the deck. I do it, it is my option but would never think of forcing it to anyone else. ... So having fun with a game ( or any hobby for all that matters ) is fanboyism. Note taken. Let's sit tight and wait for more changes shall we ? Kumbaya
  5. The elephant can be shot by implementing appropriate Admiralty awards. You only get them if you follow the appropriate Articles of War... always and not only it is convenient. Success means great reward. Failure to follow them will result in dropping a rank... or 2...
  6. Yes, a set of charting tools for the map would be a great addition.

  7. I was just justifying my own expectations regarding the game while presenting what bought me into the game. - exciting realistic beautifully detailed naval combat game - The game also offers a open world - free to navigate - and a sandbox experience - exert my own gameplay style. On top of that MMO system to rule factions relations and how they see each other on the open world and how they can interact through the sandbox, is being developed. Also war mechanics for spectacular conquest drives if players want to step up on the grand admiral shoes and go forth into line of battle and win territory and glory to its own faction. What is you justification for buying the game ?
  8. Back in ST we had 3. It is 1 now for gameplay reasons.
  9. Let's read again www.navalaction.com - Naval Action is an exciting realistic and beautifully detailed naval combat game immersing players into the experience of the most beautiful period of naval history - I see nothing related to MMO specifics. They might be developed but are not the driving force of the game.
  10. And destroy War on Trade. Yes, let's kill "honest" piracy, privateering. While we are at it let's kill Interdiction Flotillas, you know, the ones that harass the lone 1st and 2nd rates that keep being stubborn enough to sail on their own milking the NPCs like they think they are on the PvE server. Yes, let's kill a big part of the OW activities.
  11. 3 quarters of the time spent in the game I operate on my own in hostile waters. It is not a thing that can be taught but has to be experienced and a very own personal style of hit and run and escape ganks. I completely conccur with the OP regarding the situation, too many sweep flotillas with little to gain even for them. It is hard for me to sympathize with gank groups unless it is hitting dumb 1st rates on their own milking AI.
  12. Ample volumes... Will have to remember that one.
  13. I must assure you Monseñor they are not little at all. The creatures actually jumped out the walls of the convent and they made a lot of the lads blush...What can I say !?... Oh and thank you for their names as herselves presented as Candy and as Sugar. Which I found wildly amusing given the cane plantations of the island heh !
  14. We need the French fleet of ships as playable assets and the revamp of port battles and diplomacy.
  15. I would expect correctness on the treatment of capture crews to be in game and not be a rush to "enslave" crews. This is not the age of total war. There was a "diplomatic protocol" of sorts. To jail the enemies for a certain duration, and to honor the officers as guest prisoners. Exceptions might exist. Some has an insight on this ? A solid one ?
  16. A bit more capable, with timbers thickness comparable to the Surprise, tad thinner. In scale it is to the Snake what a Navy Brig is to a Brig. That's how it feels.
  17. Sure. All fine with me as I already do it. Back to the 3 pre-requisits ( I posted above ) What is the incentive on playing pirates that puts the faction in the same incentive level as a navy ? I only see pieces being taken off and no new clay being put on.
  18. Hmmm... what was the normal procedure during this era about captured crews ?
  19. French articles of war at sea do specify disabling rigging whereas royal navy doesn't refer it and focus on the battering of the enemy ship. (Im)possible to model.
  20. Neither do I. But... I am already disciplining myself. I attack the trader and plunder what I can fit in my hold. I wish, sometimes, I could give the ship and leftover cargo back to the player still in battle though.
  21. Open deck carronades. Fore and aft castles.
