  1. Top speed yes. Acceleration...not so sure.
  2. You might want to try with a friend IF the time to pickup to speed ( acceleration ) and no so much the top speed, between a empty and a fully laden one is different. Try a duel with traders Next you might want to do the same and test the roll. Try to use exact same setups.
  3. That's not morale at work and being dynamic due to the flow of combat, that's morale threshold tied to crew numbers. Less crew less total morale.
  4. The difference is: - having to be outside a area in which you can be attacked As simple as that. Protected areas are in game for one simple reason, no trolling possible of conquest fleets.
  5. Sure, but shouldn't your water cut planks be shattered as well and water start pouring in ? ( and they are hell to fix, so you'd sink as well )
  6. I personally support a system which doesn't enable any captain to be able to do everything on its own without reliance, at the very least, to the market or other players.
  7. Quite odd, think I never saw it happen although I knew it could. Wonder if the devs might have a crew morale trigger already in place for all the combat action ( not only boarding ) and with cumulative effects that would be awesome.
  8. You can't hope to defend a schooner trader from a schooner on a frigate. You can't interdict a brig model on a frigate. You cannot intercept trade on a frigate. This has been proven many times to the dismay of the "bigger the better" captains.
  9. This is correct. Still there is no transfer from the relationship between Navy and Merchant in the game. Every captain is "the world" and can do whatever making the " war on trade and trade to finance war" an empty premise. Warships were commissioned whereas in game they are sold like cheap jeans. How to move towards a better age of sail economy and war simulation regarding ships commissioned ? ( especially now that everyone has everything everywhere anytime )

  11. IIRC fishing in the green zone is a bug. I'd simply put fishing possible at slow or lower speeds. Anything above nay.

  13. New mechanic, new problems to solve. Same as always. ( plus to hell with losing crew and officer to gankers until you gentlemen start behaving with bravery and gallantry ) Please check Admin proposal to solve it, in the crew discussion thread and choose one of the proposed solutions.

  16. Well said in many aspects. It really comes down to the most experienced to share the experience and NOT force anyone to go through the ranks without learning basics. After facing rear admirals not using manual to full potential, or not at all, I wonder what kind of clans they are into. Don't they duel to learn ? Don't they skirmish together or against each other in Small/Large battles ? Guess ganking is more to the point and makes everyone feel efficient

  18. Benefits ? What benefits ? Spewing out some generalistic "benefits" word without clear description of whatt they are is meaningful and totally childish. But.. I agree on making Pirate a pirate option as pirates should be. And.... The same way I would really enjoy the Navy to be changed as well, so ranking is not so linear and so tied to grinding. Ranking by achievements - special PvP and special PvE respectively for each of the servers. In the same line a clear division between Navy and Merchant captain would be beneficial for all with their specifics. So we would end with Navy captains, Merchant captains and Pirate captains and to the locker with your complaints. Once pirates start to be a nuisance, as historically as possible, to all traders and the nation chats go up in flames with traders crying all over I wonder what you come up with. Limitation on ship size is meaningless. Schooners already hound down any ship and I never saw any National trying hard, at all, to come up with anything that can bring "historical" pirate ships down. Hit and run serve us trade raiders well. Only yourself to blame.

  20. It is a game. Nothing lost if one has to rethink how the clan going to reorganize the crafting. With the absurd amount of ships on the market it might even more wise to revamp entirely.
  21. Actually this brings good memories of bloops and mishaps of flight situations I like the correct terms in the UI but don't mind about voice chat being left/right etc
  22. It has been a while since I was in Jamaica so one of these days went there to see how the trade routes are these days. Immediately located a victim and proceeded with the piracy act. A player in a cruiser was actually escorting the trader. Good to see this kind of interaction between us players rather than the NPC fleets. Took a day off the normal and absolutely acceptable pirate activities of robbing the rich to give to the poor pirate that I am - read: capture traders cargo - to go and have a bit of good ol'brawling around home waters. A Swedish squadron was engaged and I must compliment them as they always fight great. Good good fun and positive spirits.​ A ton of bad advice from the "community" result in bad spots. An afk target... but that's not the only error... Do not undercrew your ship. Go AFK in a port. Do not use fleets... especially undercrewed Do not believe anyone telling you to rush through ranks, power grind or anything similar. It is all bad advice.
  23. A Pirate's a Crew. Nothing else. So in a nutshell the pirate clan would be summarized by the creator name + crew, such as Captain Nukenin's Crew. And yes, for notoriety reasons there would be a thousand Crews, slightly 900 more than IRL but yeah Obviously for romantic reasons and literary value Brotherhood, Brethren, etc would fit but I rather keep it to the point.
