  2. For example, teams that drag close to the 45 minutes will probably have the judge informing both teams to vector directly to each other and brawl it out. Judges will judge accordingly to each particular match.
  3. That is true. Pirates have that unique advantage and work their own "personal" alliances and hire themselves given they can attack anyone and side with anyone.
  4. Some shallows are treacherous. Sail slow and navigate them.
  5. You are missed and Your tales are missed, now get your crew together and get wet !
  6. We still have no idea how fast/slow the hostility threshold can evolve. The full 4 weeks with final week being diplomacy round can provide a good testbed especially if hostility plust Port conquest takes its toll on time and preparation. Too short and the nations might achieve nothing but diplomatic bragging rights.
  7. Magnificent battle Ocean Team One and RDNN Team Two, was a really good opening match. Steel and MG made a great commentators team. Thanks to GameLabs for the arena update
  8. Funny - it takes too much to sail here and there - enter social battle, take 1 hour to never catch up with combatants.
  9. Who will pay ? If it is the "system" then there's no difference from what many of us already do. If it is the players themselves paying, then by all means, let's do it.
  10. The true major guidelines are - is it a PvP server or a PvE server ? From that point onward there's a lot of social work to be done by all players. What is also true is that many many many players refuse to buy their own flags and always ready to get advantage of others buying them. And if told to organize one they quickly dismiss the idea. Every nation knows these types. All nations suffer from that, that's why most war rooms occur at closed door and expect best fleet to be in. Reputation is all and more so if one is a lone wolf.
  11. "Social Coward" is the new vogue. Almost a Monty Python thing... very....British. Oh the irony of perks.

  12. Foundries. Cannons can fit another crafter specialization. Ammo and gunpowder ? Not so much. Good as it is.

  13. ...nothing but bots Another start of the evening and came across a gallant maritime trading company captain. Proceeded to attack despite the use of a NPC fleet on his behalf. Chances were long odds but gained something out of it. Royal Navy hunt Shortly after the liberation of the bot fleet from captain Jak, had the displeasure of being intercepted by a zealous RN captain. Didn't go much on our favour and on my defense - We didn't run away, we escaped the noose - good battle. Salute! Swedish pressure By the end of the session the crew decided to go to Swedish waters and check what was going on. Here we came across a famous Pirate, captain Blood Hound and decided to stick together and see if we could get into trouble. Didn't take long to get ourselves intercepted by the Swedes so the drums and the guns started roaring. #nofleets Liberating bots from a cruel human master in two successive engagements. Bots deserve to be liberated from player tyranny ! They deserve a better life roaming on their own. #freethebots Salute !
  14. I know right Was the best I could so far. I did Pray for light though...
  15. Trade ? Use a old flag to confuse the enemy into thinking it IS the flag ? *shrugs*
  16. One of the duties I enjoyed the most back when in nation roll call was fleet screen duty and messing up with potential scouts and intercept squadrons, on the other hand I'd act scout myself many times. It is a playstyle for a Navy officer, as a screener and as a scout. No need to dispose of it.
  17. Good inception. Let's start simple and discuss it as a complementary mechanic, for both PvE and full PvP without the E mixed in.
  18. Yes. Of course. More rum !!!
  19. History aside, it is an example where station is not bought nor amount of votes are limited, and is meaningful out of blood and guts, it becomes something beyond the grinding, beyond rank. Was an example, but more can be given. Other admirals from his generations bought half their posts along the career and because of that they never carried as much Prestige due to lack of courage and proof of combat given. Yeah, can be a measure of voting without resorting to the Lordship tied to Ports. A more proper Admiralty rewards for those that face the odds and come out on top due to sheer skill or luck.

  20. Nelson at Trafalgar "voted" to sail forth a break their line and everyone did follow him. If it was loudmouth Captain Backwater no one would have moved a line. The only difference between the two is both extremes of Prestige. Prestige should be attainable by combat gallantry and valor, against the odds and all other magnificent performances one can read about. Prestige is "worth a thousand" votes.

  21. Have to ask sorry for the interruption but the whole situation reminds me of some fellow, all fancy dress, walking into "The Gouged Eye" tavern at La Orchila and, with a sneer and a uninsterested look about, announcing the highest station of diplomacy in the Dutch West Indies was open for the taking, such as the madame upstairs... An amusing announcement to make at a free port sir. My own crew kept asking if this was for real. Better find it amongst your peers on TS ?
  22. Have to salute a proper privateer-pirate-hunter take the dare to sail a proper hunter.
