  1. Rolling fire, front or back, as she bears, it has a slower interval for that reason. Obviously it delegates timing of command to the captain player. Simultaneous broadside is the random fire. No ship would sustain the strain of a lot of guns shooting at the very same second. It has to be a staggered fire type as we have.
  2. Yes. Thank you for slapping some sense into the "poor unarmed trader" crew.
  3. Very reductive assessment. Do you play Naval Action for the "simulation" of age of sail or for other less related reasons ? Sarcasm On - It is a well known fact that the USS Constitution was under command of a tradesman hauling bales of cotton when it was intercepted by a British squadron. - sarcasm off.
  4. It is a good compromise. Won't affect those that have no issues and will help those with issues.
  5. I travel far and wide searching for Voluptous Mermaids and Laborious Manatees and I cannot, in truth, say that what Dekillos says is false. Apart from trader being escorted by a friend, which is not that common, patrols along the trade routes are more sparse than having two full fleets actually fighting a Port Battle.

  6. Yes, automated all the way. Less clicks
  7. Sure. One of the gimmicks I like in Elite is knowing who passed the spaceport in the last hours. Knowing specifically who is in battle or port is more tricky. I would enjoy it in a historical sense. If a player already has rank that allows personal ensign sure, it is listed. If not, it shows only as generic ship. I'd say this information would be of particular interest in Free Ports more than on national ones.
  8. Any mechaninc will affect us all. The computer is a machine without any concerns for human welfare. And who knows... maybe next week I logout in the BS like 5 times every evening... *shrugs*... Now !... give a logoff button and i'll give you a 5 minute timeout of BS, deal ? Fair for all.
  9. It is great for a pirate as well. More prize hold space.

  10. No. I refuse to be punished to take half hour breaks to stretch my legs and back and go buy an ice cream. I will also refuse to be punished because I took 120 minutes break to go cook dinner and sit down with the kids having a laugh. Hell, I will play when I can, in longer or shorter periods. I exit game in BS like once or twice per week.
  11. One pirate raiding one trader is not a gank. It is proper. Also, if the pirate is smart he seldom raids trade anywhere near a capital but at the source of the goods. Usually the best spots are actually some 10 to 20 minutes away from any free port or major town. I am eager to count how many will come to help any trader I jump. I suspect very little will change as they can't be "arsed" now, so they can't be "arsed" after the patch.

  12. *shrugs* Doesn't affect me and I see it as a good thing. Many offensives were planned based on the assumption of - attack friendly smuggler, teleport warship, return to port, teleport to outpost, sail out and fight. Served no one purpose in a game intended to be a representation, to a hobby degree, of the complexities of age of sail combat. If it stirs a lot of comfort then it is a good thing and truly nothing of importance was lost.
  13. Dumpert, okay. Either way I want to see them work together. Admin, get to work.
  14. If the new RoE works true they will spawn 30 mins sail away from you or something similar to that. Isn't it ?

  15. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Admin already stated the Why some of thet hings got added. Hell they will break a lot of comfort zones, they will create a lot of strange situations but anything is better than the previous situation regarding ALL playstyles. The Social perk combined with the new RoE might actually work pretty well imo given the entrance to combat will be miles away. And dumpert has a point although it already happens all the time now, so... let's see what happens.
  16. ah ok, thanks for clarification.
  17. If counter-tagging would make the perk work there would be no need for the perk to exist and simply make them always open... Also with the test-resets you can effectively buy it everytime you go out on patrol.
  18. Yes, eager to know. Musketry been looked into a fixed and boarding is more dynamic, so seems we might have a small of a respite from the old old click fest...maybe.
  19. I am very pleased to read through the entirety of the update notes, most notably: - the inclusion of the event ships, of course - the added changes to the alliances, especially the smuggler attack Yay ! Muskets been looked into finally thanks guys. Very very eager to see this new phase unfolding.
  20. Nothing against what you said and many pirates do play self imposed sort-of hard mode because it is kind of more fun, albeit we simply disregard the "nation of pirates". Wouldn't be that far fetched having the Nations also to support maintenance costs for their navies and infrastructure, because as it stands Nation captains simply hoard and look to their own ( group ) comfort of wealth and private fleets without any serious monetary and duty compromise to the Nation. Balance within reason and within development resources I guess.
  21. Maybe so. I think the option will always be down to the player BUT only with the crew he brought from Port. The rest of the crew pool should be untouched and unreachable until we make port again. Fleets, if they are to stay must at least be reviewed.
  22. There is a lot of misinformation going on. By the last decade on the height of pyracy, western world, prizes were even put ablaze with horrific consequences. Was the age of the war with the world, sadly. Earlier buccaneer and even after the split of crews between Jamaica and Haiti were way more soft.
  23. 32 equals a worlcup for groups and knockout phase without playoffs.
