  1. As I said on your video I do enjoy a lot your entries, kind of a Captain's Log thing. Great model and I hope you carry through with them. Obviously it wouldn't be possible without the participation of all other players that, with their favored playstyle, crossed your path.
  2. Might be more related to player data and the use being given, on a global scale, to the mechanics in place ? Remember a game is made not for a 100 players but for a thousand fold.
  3. A breadcrumbs type of event can be an idea. That being said the 2017 roadmap clearly states the Admiralty as being a venue towards rewards.
  4. True enough with the Epic events, it is meant to be a group instance although it can be done alone at some levels, such as taking a Belloan to face a Cerberus entry level.
  5. You can attack NPC fleets on the open world ? Also enter the Epic Events ? Is there any different from using the OW AI versus the mission generator ?! In the end it is the same as AI spawn by presence of players in a determined area.
  6. Officers cease to be is also a good topic. For one it simply removes the "oh darn need to grind perks" feeling many players pass through every time they have to train a new officer. Another thing is that it gets under the wing of the player and definitely warrants no more resets making way for a career prototype maybe.
  7. Where we go from here... We go to 2017. Have a look at three discussions
  8. True that. I like their removal if it means they can be reworked and be diluted as a "dark matter" mechanic in-between the other mechanics and completely unlike it is now. Like a grey zone and uncomfortable activity to conduct, that can be high risk but if planned well yield good profit.
  9. There has been a lot of projects with different approaches and on different media, from the usual YT vids down to great old style (e)paper manuals. Time to get a team going and do it. Rally a crew and get to work. What do you need ?
  10. From all the good News in the map we are getting drawn into a probable extra crowdfunding pack... *shrugs* What about the Pirates change ? Surely many folk are happy with it and hoping for a extra layer of challenge on outlaw choice if it ever comes to be.
  11. @wafflez1g It is not a DLC. It is not an expansion. It is only an idea at this point. If anything palpable it is a ship pack modelling project ( see Shipyard for examples ) that you don't have to fund instead of repeating over and over a thing which isn't remotely true. It is not a request. It is a proposition to any players that might be interested. Obviously you aren't as yet. Please do move forward.
  12. That is indeed one of my most higher hopes. Have the buccaneer side with their organized Brotherhood nation and the outlaws, which I would expect to be a very hard option with challenging high stakes to play. To a point ti gives both sea rover extreme their faction. The beginning of timeline with organized "nation" and the end of the timeline with the "a ship crew versus the world" type of pyrate.
  13. It says to bring the looks up to high standard visual levels EDIT: Thanks Z4ys Seems all is clear
  14. @D.Devil Sir, That is not a correct informed interpretation of what is written. There are ships that need attention from modelers and other artists, to be in game. I can see that the Kickstarter is more of a "crowdfunding" of extra content seeing that we are always eager to have more ship models in game. Kickstarter option asks you.... Do you want more ship models !? As far as it goes the game is solid with the models we have. Truth be told the USS Constitution needs attention, a lot of it.
  15. Overall solid roadmap considering what the developers want, for sure, with a bit of our suggestions. It has it all and shows a move away from the established comfort. Very pleased on the Admiralty news ( it is probably one of the oldest ideas tied to OW ) and on the AI specials roaming about aggressively and acting upon players. Conquest will ease down to a manageable system after we went to zenith which, for certain, would require way more participation and less exploitation so a step back to friendly zone is a good move. . If we look also to the crafting changes listed on the November 2nd thread we are onto a good first half of 2017
  16. That is correct, perks like those despite being pirate or not are, personally speaking, blunders. Sea rovers going versus any type of man'owar was a no go although... although... it happened and with success. So it is all about extremes and what lays in between. I hope to see major changes down the road regarding perks, modules and what not.
  17. Hello and welcome. While the User Interface will be reviewed in the last stage of development the elements are there albeit it can be confusing at first. When in Port, select the ship you want to use. You will see the ship Cargo hold space on the right side and the Warehouse space also on the right side. Anything you buy, from cannon to resources will be placed in the warehouse space. You simply drag and drop those into your ship Cargo hold. Once you have the necessary items for the delivery mission on your Hold you may Sail out and go to the intended port. Automated deliveries are only possible between Free Ports, marked in grey in the Map. Thus any cargo that needs to travel from and to any nation controlled port must be transported by yourself. ------ Also I strongly request that you and any players out there that need help, guidance or have any special requests to check the Guides board http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/forum/44-guides/
  18. Interesting thread but... There are excellent discussions on how to experience Naval Action and achieve long term objectives, short term action, and even about different playstyles, maybe use those. Thank you.
  19. This is a thread full of great videos of Naval Action. Let us remain gallant, post good battles videos, like and subscribe to good channels, spread the word of NA and avoid any negative waves and other considerations and discussions which have their own threads running in other boards such as General Discussion and National News. Thank you.
  20. Yes. Maybe we need shortages and surplus "seasons" instead of infinite linear resource availability ?
  21. It was not "more diffculty" I wanted to point out but the economic needs to be more close to a credible real world. Just to illustrate a historical situation and have it compared to our game scale. Replacing a carriage for a 2 pdr cannon would cost 6 pounds, year 1777. The same year and exactly the same excerpt, 1065 yards of canvas to repair would amount to 209 pounds to make a schooner serviceable again. ( r. Samuel P. Turner St.Augustine's British Period Documentary Records ) 6 pounds was, in 1777, equivalent to 970 hours labour standard in the same year. ( historical currency conversion, gold standards, silver standards and manpower hours at average labour wage, google it ).
  22. Also, and this is a might feat of necromancy but, imo, needs also to be here
  23. from a very old thread of mine, just to fuel imagination
  24. Stiffness best effect on heeling is noticeable on a prolonged hard turn, say from a 270º to 90º. It will not heel as much and in effect retain more speed at the end of the turn if compared with a non stiff ship. Very noticeable on any of the schooners Lynx and Privateer, but give their size and running line it might be the reason why is noticeable. On a Surprise I don't remember noticing it that much of a difference. Hope it helps.
