Patch 10.2 - Changes to mission, crafting, ROE and other fixes
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to admin's topic in Patch notes
This is very true. Whatever incentives have been put up the open end mechanics allow all to find their place if they have no interest in some parts of the... OW politics, rvr, ego shooter combat type of txicity, etc. To some is some less sailed remote cluster of regions and all is fine. But... nothing assures that a company of merry men won't pass through delivering a good dose of PvP. All opinions are valid and we do sure test a lot of different options. Some we like more, others not so much. I saw the same "aversion" with 5 duras. The same aversion in no loss Sea Trials ( damn it, it even had devs had to code a shrinking circle so ppl didn't run away ). I don't think it is exclusive to this patch. -
Tow to port will teleport to nearest deep water port as per patch notes.

Patch 10.2 - Changes to mission, crafting, ROE and other fixes
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to admin's topic in Patch notes
Well, traders have no morale out of boarding, so analogy fall short . They won't simply cower at the sight of "death" or they won't back down from defending the interests of the owner, they shall defend the riches to the last bit ( literally! ). -

Outbid them ? Just an idea. -
There you go

So you came to "bomb" our shores? It is not a revenge gank, it is proper videogame war. And guess what ? I was invisible... in the sun... in your 6... somewhere out there. You never saw me coming.

make calculations according to degrees of latitude/longitude Each degree of latitude is approximately 69 miles (111 kilometers) Longitude works different, each degree can be wider or tighter depending on latitude away from the equator Hence why 2D maps always show warped land on the grid. In game I fear it is the 60x60 miles ?

Patch 10.2 - Changes to mission, crafting, ROE and other fixes

What resource is it ? What server ? What nation ? -
Greed will always be present. Remember the hemp crisis ? It was needed by the nations to really build the fleets but a lot of less scrupulous captains did drive the prices to insane values. Hell, even daily groups do proceed with "indentured servitude" of newcomers for their LH. NPC shop ships should have variable price according to player naval Rank.

Household upcoming game will be Sea of Thieves though. Excellent family cartoon visuals. Proper community standards ( it is rated for 8 yo iirc and devs/mods don't mess around with the language allowed ) and above all if one messes up anything in the game the goofy looks of the actions make it look like everything was on purpose.

Ship Durability suggestion
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Yngvarr's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
One durabilities and the (good) slots number should indeed be balanced with a reduction on the outpost permits. Leave durability, leave slots, as they are, and reduce the Outpost permit prices.- 43 replies

Patch 10.2 - Changes to mission, crafting, ROE and other fixes
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to admin's topic in Patch notes
@Darayavahus Exactly. Hunting/raiding/attacking/raising hostility/sinking/pvp'ing means that a big part of it is on enemy waters, where their traders ( and other ships ) might be sailing. -
Ship Knowledge - A Poll
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Werewolf's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
Thank you. We can sail it then -
Yes, actually we did. There were no teleports, just teleport to capital. There were no coordinates. There was no towing and no delivery. And actually there was no production at all, no buildings, everything was by contracts oh and there was a massive ( like you've never seen ) oak and iron shortages and a lot of folk were crying instead of going out of cozy home waters to get it. But I digress. devs have statistical data, but we DID test that scenario.

flying on rails or flying open... sailing on rails or sailing free... oh boy oh boy, games have come a long way but flashy, wacky quick delivery packs still sell like crazy just to be dead after a month... For Honor much ? I shall stand down. Snappy salute.

Subtracting a enemy Nation of a lot of traders is also part of the war effort. If they are in the nether how can we do it ? -
Ship Durability suggestion
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Yngvarr's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Couldn't spare that one durability and with good reason But one the other hand we had a good bout with some of yer countrymen yesterday. resulted in both sides backing down after a interesting fight. Nothing lost and both sides measured correctly if the risk would pay off. Was great. With 5 duras there would be no contemplation of risk, just ram, explode, whatever and click "next battle" in a mindless way ( pun intended ).- 43 replies

None of it even compares. If anything only two product at the moment, and being under testing, can be interesting enough to pull attention from NA now and then IMO. SailAway and UBoot, but neither is a full package, combat, open world and mmo.
