  1. I'm good with the clan i am with. Don't care about nations. Ceased to be about nations when clanwars were announced. I thought that's what majority wanted. Clan controlled ports and clan vs clan wars ( with other clans jumping into the pot of rvr on one side and the other ). Nah all good. Who says RED and BF want to fight ? Maybe they don't. But who stops Clan A from attacking Clan B ? Oh yes, no WIN. Big bad CLAN will come and take it away from us So...eff it. No content for me ? No content for you ! Game dying bla bla bla
  2. Yeah. I would say is more "I love the idea of the game but not the game". Hence can't let go. Despite many faults NA delivers a lot to many players, 2 hours per day, day in day out. Might be a month or two until they can craft solo their Victory, but will do it. They won't be competitive enough, and they know it. But they can enjoy a great ship model and engage in combat with it. They can sail with some buddies and attack some AI or go find trouble into enemy waters. What do I care, or what do you care if they do ? It is how they having fun with the game.
  3. Yep. They congregated a massive amount of players. That's clanwars sandbox. Clans will do whatever they feel like, no matter "alliances". Your clan will attack some clan port. What stops a clan from whatever other nation to appear there and find fights !? Nothing.
  4. National News my good chap. Plus yes, player first and moderator second, and as a player I want to WIN all the time. And yes, as i don't WIN all the time game is not working proper ...

  10. Yes. 98% loss. As fast as you can escape with the loot from a totally unfriendly environment. Yes, by missions. You fulfill missions to gain access to gear with vendors. no infinite cash and no infinite ammo. Everything is bought with the loot you can escape with. No mission no deal, stick with what you loot. Yes, big time and devs are adamant in their vision. I like them. But you see, there's literally "countless" games that suit all styles. Is all about fun. Not having fun, no play. Liking the challenge, then it's fun. NA is challenging. It is diverse and offers a fairly unique combat gameplay. Any newcomer may well like it, we all been newcomers. Now being effing negative all the time is really senseless. Just let the new guy enjoy, without limits. Anyone can invade your game and kill you outright ( you can do to them as well ) without you even knowing they are there ( sometimes in the most hillarious ways ). When you die and can't get back to your body, because you get slain again, you lose your possessions ( sometimes really valuable stuff ). Yes. It is bloody harsh if you play online, but can be great fun.
  11. Escape from Tarkov. Multiplayer, full loss and loot. You only keep what you can escape with. You might loot and kill lots of other players but killed before you escape. All lost, just xp won. Try again. Learn, get better. Play with friends, increase chances of success. Oh wait... that could almost, almost be NA War server...

  14. Good input. Teak is and was used a lot on deck flooring. Oak was used practically in all ships even if the outermost board was mahogany. Speed is not only related to displacement weight but also how the fluid revolves around the hull shapes, amongst other thing. And waterline is not always the same. As an example you can check the cruises of the Essex and refer to the various differences - when she carried cannon, when she carried carronades, etc. There's meters difference. But the whole idea was game balance. Because in all honesty, in the end of the timeframe of the game, 24pdr frigates were the norm and all nations had them, with more or less success with all types of woods. Some longer, some with more breadth, but all designed to carry that specific set of guns. Would a Cedar Connie work ? We will never know. She wasn't built. Did the Pomone work ? Was Adriatic Oak and still was the fastest and most powerful frigate at one point. Became a real danger fast and British guaranteed they would capture her to end the threat -AND- to check how she was built. Eventually all heavier frigates ( heavier means in relation to the guns carried, not weight of ship ) became norm. It was all a race to the heavy guns. From 9pdr to 12, to 18s and eventually to the 24s. Same with ships of the line, but the capability of carrying 42s was achieved faster. ( albeit when a SOL is deemed "fast" it means "fast enough to keep up with the rest of the fleet" ) Maybe I didn't think the entire suggestion through in relation to all detailed realism ( although there are notable examples of the contrary, of ships losing their qualities once guns got replaced as counter to the excellent qualities of some ship classes that did indeed perform good with whatever wood - note: dimensions were not exactly the same for all sister ships to balance gravity points, but hey let's look only to the general picture to make a case ). Thanks for the good input. Disregard the suggestion. It will influence too much certain playstyles and affect too much the established crafting workflow. Like to see realism ( the ships were designed to carry specific guns ) being brought to bear against a gameplay mechanism (woods choice in game to affect size of guns). Hope you do that for other gameplay mechanics as well ; not only when it fits. o7
  15. I'm not right. I'm just saying we were all newcomer once. Why are we still playing ? Guess we did play and learn. Any person can do that. You are NOT smarter or better than anyone else. YES, the game is challenging. NO, it is not overwhelming.
  16. A newcomer of old ( now a veteran ) and a newcomer now ( future veteran ) are both intelligent persons. Unless you all consider yourselves of superior intellect than everyone else. First time I got unicorned was ganked by 5. Then sunk, single shot by single shot. Even the other day i lost a ship against enemies without guns. Still here. Love the game. Love the War server.

  19. Idea was to give true newcomers a kickstart capital -AND- to give captains that truly lost all their effects a fairly fast recovery of cash to get back on a ship asap and pvp even more.
  20. I want the traders to have good stuff. I want to capture the trader, not sink. That's my POV. That's why i always suggested trade raid to be about taking the cargo, not sinking the ships. Regarding warships, no mercy.
  21. They do already. Snow is rank 6. Prince is rank 6. Mercury is rank 6. And so on. Plenty of players use then and fight warships equal to them. Because not everyone looks to ship size as the end of all. Many do not even want to sail the big stuff at all. So think about everyone
  22. Yes, trade ships excluding LGV and Indiaman Regarding the warships of rank 6...how will the rank 6 captains earn their pvp hunt mission rewards ?
  23. Yes. Non specifically, what i refer to is... Attack your enemies. AI isn't an enemy (yet!). Instead of turning about back to port on the double, engage them enemies. Have fun with pvp.
