  1. Report Insults using the report function ingame. You are not newcomers, Captains. You uphold the finest standards of your nation Navy, however low or high those standards might be.
  2. And with strong winds we can reenact the Prince of Neufchattel last moments of liberty.
  3. Is not about PBs specifically, although it is a good point, but affects to all aspects of the game, from missions, to OW pvp, OW pve, etc.
  4. misinformation. tell one thing, do another. like... declare war and then stick to grinding missions in a lake
  5. Got it. First obstacle, PB fleet setup.
  6. Sadly reality has such things. By the time you identify all details on enemy vessel you will be too close for comfort IRL, not 50 miles away as per game ofc, sail plans were pretty similar. Was just an example. Back to Dynamic BR.
  7. It is a tradeoff mechanic, not the end of all things. Plus it is a abstract assessment of a ship relative strength. The same way IRL captains did make the mistake of wrongly attacking a 74 gun thinking it was an indiaman, they did the mistake of attacking seemingly weaker ships just to find out they were vastly outmatched in skill.
  8. Thank you for bringing this up. Player stats is a odd one to include though, but the rest is on spot.
  9. You all need to pass a Turing test. I start to believe you are all borg.
  10. Don't know. Honestly ?!... They are traders. They ain't warships. They melt if a proper equivalent 5th rate starts pounding them. It is not even a competition. But yeah... sure... why not. A raider makes a choice to use a way weaker ship, puts high risk for high stakes, but still ain't enough. The blanket of protection must be complete so no one, no one will interfere with the "local pve server". I will tell you what will happen. Those raiders will make the sail from the nearest friendly port anyway, raid and then escape with grace. The uproar of those that can't defend themselves even having triple the amount of guns and wood will not stop there.
  11. I did get it. I would then forfeit that fight and actually go to their home waters and start wreaking havok there. - "bypass enemy and attack their base of support" - But I may be wishing too much ? I mean... despite the odd mechanic... there's more than a way to wage war and the enemy will never do what we expect.
  12. Gotcha. You want a spawn right next to the enemy. So I ask, when the enemy splits, and you split to chase them, what is the problem with several different battles, say - 2v1, 1v1, 3v2, 4v5 - given that is exactly what will end up happening when two forces split to chase each other ? Am I missing something here ?
  13. Redii, I fail to see where that makes any difference to the situation presented by sveno. And outlaw battles do not seem to be an option.
  14. well... they are and they ain't. I can see where this comes from and the problems some folk having with fighting these traders off. They can use the smuggler flag to find sanctuary behind enemy lines, but they are big as a 5th rate with way less guns. Am I missing something ?
  15. In my opinion, as long as Alliances do not come back as they were every suggestion is fine.
  16. For the speed meta to disappear we need a Wind Strength system. No other way around it.
  17. I did sail for GB in the very first instance of OW testing. Regarding trading I do like Euro Truck Simulator 2 a lot. Very relaxing game.
  18. Honestly ?! Some "fleets" that declared war are hopelessly subpar and are adamant against even trying to learn how to handle ships, any ship, all ships and blame all types of mechanics. They might have the "floating batteries" but if countered during their hostility drive they will be smashed like bugs. Others are more realistic and are doing what they do best. In essence you are closer to the truth than not.
  19. Sea rovers captains did attract a LOT of crew, way more than navies in the area, but only if the share at the end of the cruise was worth. If not the crew numbers would just vanish. That would be a hell of a unique thing for pirates. All PvP loot shared amongst the crew amount. If amounts to a certain number ( 500 ? per hand as per start of cruise; 60 men privateer would be 30k ) upon reaching port, crew either disperses or more crew will want to join for the next cruise. Second, we tend to overlook the amount of ships that simply were dismissed by many "rovers" due to - being too big to handle with the crew numbers, subpar for the chase, no ammunition for the guns, amongst a lot of other reasons not excluding actually being damaged and "rotting bottoms". It is not on the surface stories but they are known and recorded. Most famous being actually from three infamous pyrate captains.
  20. This is excellent, Captain. Thank you for your time putting this up for everyone.
  21. Sea rover types strength was adaptability. Easy to understand that one. A pyrate captain wouldn't risk a BIG crew. He couldn't possible hope to "afford" it if they wouldn't get enough prizes. Meaning the ship would be good for naught. ( there's a few notable examples of bad cruises with nothing to show and crews simply walking away and quite sizeable good ships being abandoned after the event. )
  22. Overarming ships ( one class diff ) plus free crew pool ( according to values plundered in PvP, the more plunder the more crew readily available, less meaning less crew available ) ? Edit: while having the basic infrastructure only ( at any port ) and paying double the value for LH.
  23. Meta is correct, the rest is simply not true. Plus 10 minutes alert ready response is a bit too much. Dowding would hang you all if he could ( and if he was from the age being played ).
