  1. No. Ship attitude remains unchanged. Just course position "slides" downwind.
  2. No discussion there Jodgi. The coded experience in something like a TaW battlefield for IL-2 of SoW for Cliffs is exactly that. Experience the "life" of a pilot during combat operations in ww2, one day at a time, events of 2 or 3 hours. Arena server not really my thing, I like to experience a specific day, a specific operation. In NA I like to design a character that will experience several adventures. At the moment some of those are gone. Corsair character is impossible to play, there's no trade wars. Hence going back to a redesign as a navy officer, learning from others and acting under their command is what is left. To put it in perspective - oh such long times to sail - ingress to achieve some of the "targets for today" may take well over half an hour from the moment all squadrons are assembled at altitude. With NA we have it different. It is no Career experience and is true sandbox from the moment the character is born. Other "similar" experience games do resort in - this is your assignment, this is your task - oh and 1 life events.
  3. Depends on the expectations. I have my vision of the most awesome NA of all times, alas it is what it is. And many other players like it too.
  4. I play a game to have an experience. That is my reward Sir. DayZ for the perma death survival. NA for the naval age of sail. DayZ has a lot, a lot of unique players across a month. Same as with NA.
  5. DayZ reference regarding "must have gear to survive". I prove that nope... not really.
  6. DayZ, the same way as NA, is a sandbox that relies heavily on a patch from experience to experience. Encounters are always different. In that regard, and also travel time, they are similar. Likewise, killing bot ships or killing zombies is... rinse and repeat. Fairly similar. It is the pvp interaction that provides the tension, that moment story. Same as with a air combat sim on a battlefield scenario rather than arena scenario.
  7. Rock beats fireaxe. Skillzzzzz...
  8. Everyone takes breaks ( apart from sveno !!!! )
  9. I got that part. I meant flag squadrons on the OW just to earn "wings" for the new guys. Non related to conquest
  10. That organization looks great for every player that likes well structured environments Not the first to be done like that, so it is always good to remind. If you permit me a question, how do you pull "naval academy graduates" into OW pvp in far away lands without making it a overkill battle in favor ?
  11. ETW is second only to original STW for me. And still play it, had a great 1v1 corvette versus frigate combat two days ago. For me, yes. That's exactly the why I play NA. Naval age of sail
  12. Yep, the flock doesn't want to be content and players are content in a sandbox. Granted that if you spot a enemy ship nearby your zone you might not attack it because you are in safety, so why give up safety for a "unknown" outcome ? So, what kind of mechanics would change this mindset ?
  13. No trade wars with the zones. Alas the situation pushes more to the navy vs navy combat. Does it escalate the number of pvp encounters ? No idea, we don't have the data but I do not notice a single difference.
  14. Fair enough. What naval combat game from 10 years ago ? That said a lot of decade old games ( and two decades ) are still religiously played
  15. might be due to some colour blind conditions ? C'mon man, take it as it is. The announcement is out there. Plus we are all, in our own, venues of announcing it as well to our own gaming communities that share time in NA from time to time.
  16. Actually I'd risk saying the pure trade/crafter crowd is quite numerous. And it is common to all wargames that include trade & crafting. All good if their trade ships are content as well ( also the players that escort them ).
  17. Each ship has its own sail plan, so yep. They act "unique" in some ways.
  18. Gotcha. Thought the discussion was about attacking or defending Ports - one Clan with other clans that are Friends. OW never had timezones. So i'm not getting what is the reasoning underlying that statement.
  19. Port are "owned" by clans. Major major major difference.
  20. How can a port be attacked outside the Defense Timer is beyond what I read in the opening announcement. Hostility can be raised at all times, just like now. True the immediate battle is a return to some sort of a flag. We truly need the Clerk to send message to Nation chat with hostility info.
  21. Maybe that's where you get so blind that you simply disregard the rest of the game. C'mon brother, throw another punch. Only I know the truth, you just keep guessing and swinging blindly. Get over it and overcome. Same for Intrepido. Will tell you again - the Nation is not your private club. The Clan is. That's exactly what I am saying. If the in-game nation in blue and yellow has clans from all over the globe, so be it, deal with it and don't shut the doors.
  22. Thank you I take that as a great compliment. I know I am not wrong after all this time of playing games with people from all over the world. Redii, all good man. We do not share the same game culture.
