  1. In truth the boarding nets were mostly used when foundered Yanks have a great example of that during 1812 war with a full flotilla with them up. Posted the picture as a historical example of how tools were used to enhance probability of resisting boarding attempts by enemy. Remember we do not have positional boarding yet.
  2. All vessels should be vulnerable, more so if they are not ready/prep for boarding. On the part of a true grit DD, search the trader Isabella defense versus the Marquis de Brancas.
  3. Against civilian crews handling trade vessels ? Aye. 30% is immense in a schooner/brig to brig fight. In a frigate to frigate fight is not that much and I feel it is okay ( if it has a payoff like proposed above - Must be in Boarding mode and above a certain level, i'd say 70/100 )

  9. Correct, but sinking puts ship out of circulation. Capture simply...recycles it for future use against former owners
  10. Sinking is full 100% damage. It does give entire XP sure , at least that's how I reason it and it makes sense, blind mechanics wise. Damage up to the point of capturing, gives amount of XP accordingly to damage done ( plus you win the ship ! ) @admin can you confirm if this is the case ?
  11. Any entity gets the kill IF it does the most damage. This applies to players, AI ships or coastal defences - all entities. All others get assist IF they do at least 10% damage of the potential total damage of the target. What fix is needed ?
  12. I'm certain XP is awarded. It is the "material" rewards that befall the decision making by the winner - sink or capture, each with its own type of reward. As Texas well puts it, some ships are worth more than the marks award given their build and equipment.
  13. AGEODs are very complex but reward in the long run. Can't say anything specific for the ACW campaigns. I like their localized packs, like Revolution Under Siege which is the one i'm running. IIRC the OOBs from the ACW pack could be exported and then imported into SoW for scenarios.
  14. Sink the ship, get a module, if the player installed any on the ship, and PvP marks ( and cash ). Capturing is a reward in itself. Full ship with all installed modules.
  15. A strong clan in a nation can grief lockdown the entire starter zone. I am usually innocent regarding griefing and exploiting but I can foresee where this will lead. Let the devs do whatever. Careful what you wish for.
  16. How did it go last time outlaw was up ? Not agains the Proposal, i suggested 1v1 same BR versus same nation. Isn't that enough ?
  17. Man, i'd just raid every single trader on "my" nation. Sit in front of the major hub and get bored to hell as they keep coming until there's no one left. See where this is going ? It is not about 1 playstyle, it is a mechanic that will affect everyone. Think about it in depth.

  20. You are right, sorry. It is Caribbean server, that has opportunties for PvE, PvP, trade, RvR, fishing, sitting in port and everything else the game is. You are right as well, we all have lives. What we do not have is the same schedules or reali life quality of life, and on that regard no mechanics of the game may help. So what is the proposal ? Enhance the missions by distance or making all the missions instant without the need to even sail ?
