  2. I'd simply make it so the kill is always attributed to enemy, if no damage done. All enemy ships present get share amount of marks. But that's me and my solomon laws love.
  3. All that throws more players versus players with a good "lore and canon" foundation, even taking NA alternate history version, is good. Given majority prefers the safest way, an alternative to achieve the same results by means of no pvp would be a no go, I hope. Except when applied to the Pacific server.
  4. Sure, but with teleport out the opportunity to recapture is gone. I cannot agree.
  5. I hear you. I miss proper raidin' and bringing the prized merchandise home, being what is really valuable for the playstyle. But hey, easy way out, immediate cash in spoke higher... and majority does indeed engage in the massacre orgy and cash in dozens of marks without any regards. But it is a vice cycle: 1- pver grinds fleets, grabs drops 2- pver sells drops for pvp marks he won't get 3- pvper goes kill pvers to get marks 4- pvper buys drops with marks got from killing the pver Am I wrong ?
  6. Fair points. Can i just say something, and I hope you don't get distressed. Multi player game design. Translates to interaction with multiple other players, friendly, enemy. Solo is a choice, not the standard design.
  7. Correct, me neither Just trying to figure what is exactly the issue... I mean, one can fight until one sinks or can fight no more... sadly sometimes that ends in a capture. *shrugs* Other option is to Surrender and live with the choice. A indirect options is to dump cargo in the Open World. What we missing ?
  8. Nor water... ( probably the major logistical issue of the RN in the Bay during the Independence / Revolution War )
  9. Nice rendition. Many thanks! I like to sail listening to anything Saraceno Blues.
  10. Shop Snow took me 4 good squadron vs squadron PvP encounters to totally unlock the 5 slots ( thanks to the help of some captains ). Not a week ago was on zero slots. Ships of the Line... obviouuuuusly... need way more knowledge XP but given the amount of damage output i'd say they also make...obviouuuuuuusly much more XP per encounter. NA PvP = chance encounters, age of sail experience, routes patrol.... ( unless a zone pro camper but that's the easy way out)
  11. Regarding what exactly ? Denial of ship capture only ?
  12. Having to sail a captured ship back to own port to exchange for marks ? I mean, say a raider sails from Aves to Fort Royal, classic. Captures a ship. Must sail it back, in fleet ( must have fleet perk ), to a port where there's a Admiralty of his own nation so he can give it to the Admiralty. Or did i understand wrong ?
  13. And the cannons ? You can't loot those when you sink the ship. And the cargo ? part of it is lost when the ship is scuttled.
  14. I want nothing, was just giving my point of view. Actually I like how it is. I enjoy the risk and i did sink a lot, I mean a lot, to forts. I respect your suggestion for more safety, just shared some light hearted ideas on how and why the forts act as they do. Fair winds sir, may the seas be totally safe.
  15. 1.5x the PVP reward for ships returned to port...and.... ... is taken by the Admiralty at store cost ?
  16. Say 15 minutes heh... ok... need more "knowledge slots" on that captain then. Combat is great. Make the world more sim. Maybe read or scuttle yer ship.
  17. Change focus to 250m. Stick to that. Aim at the far rail. Takes practice, but players are starting to adjust.
  18. I would really want a very credible simulation of life in the Caribbean during the whatever grand age of sail Naval Action creates. If not at sim combat level, then at "world" level. But this is another subject. Let's scuttle all the ships we capture and give crafters a purpose.
  19. Correct Archaos, if you had to answer to the Admiralty and Navy Board for the scuttling, even being a privateer. ( history ) Alas we do not, nor we shall have to at any measure, we can simply discard all the wood. ( gameplay )
  20. So... trader models could be changed to 5 slots but, as now ( only 3 slots ) they could be developed by any means AND in addition level the gameplay to the warships as well 3 slots ( by any means ) + 2 slots dedicated to pvp. I like the idea. Needs a wipe to test this thoroughly and how well it works.
  21. Buddy dragged them in, blinded them from the OW events, the rest of the gang teleports and still has time to sail and join the battle. Simple But yeah, it is a "hot zone" kind of mapping tool. I would remove player names though.
  22. hmmm newcomer can't access anything really, just what is on the Admiralty - the mean baseline average. But sure, always good to have a motif to drive the testing, eager to see the videos/screenshots. o7
