  1. I always laugh when I see Pirates in the diplomacy pot But you are right Rab, it is like a game of Risk. There's always the guy that will be ganked by the others. But let's leave the NN out of this. Stick with the suggestion.
  2. If you going big, then make it epic. Do not nitpick. Go full logistics for all that strategy and diplomacy to make sense.
  3. Crusty is proposing a 1 nation, 1 ally. Not blocks. So with 10 nations, there would have to be 5 blocks. But, in truth, like today, and this is my particular opinion, nothing would stop blocks from making "outside of the table" alliances. Only drawback, the clans that play by the game rules. Enemy player in screen is enemy player.
  4. Leave National News out of generic game discussions and suggestions.
  5. Best leads I found was the ISBNs referenced here, and a glimpse of the plans(?). But guess mails here and mails there might 100% help you trace her. http://www.histarmar.com.ar/Armada Argentina/FragataHercules.htm
  6. Stick to the ships architect plans for all ships, please. If they slow they slow, if they thick they thick. If they shallow, they shallow.
  7. That's how we ended here today Crusty. Clan based player made diplomacy.
  8. The only thing I could extract from that - and being on the side of the non-hardcore player on this - is the ability of ships to replenish crew, in the OW, by usage of the total allowed. The absolute only change would be, when in OW replenishment of crew only with Rum and never bringing new crew from the Rank allowance.
  9. #antimetaleague kind of... just kind of... truly marginally... approves this meme.
  10. We tested that Crusty. It ended in 2 blocks, reds vs blues type of game. Was the most dull period, aka. dark ages. IMO But yeah, if too many people want it, why not... have fun.
  11. Agreed. Too many Bellonas. Can stand behind this, no problem. Also what i suggested before - no redeem if already have 1 - same as yacht - can't add dlc ship to fleet - same as yacht It should really be the same.
  12. Herc and Snow are the same. Actually was the first thing i reported odd when Herc was introduced with the tutorial.
  13. 1 privateer and 1 prince, handled by proficient captains, will dispose of a xebec. but still, 2 captains tied up for 1.
  14. I hate to debate what text on a screen really means, as I cannot read minds. All I see is ship needs eco vs ships needs no eco. There's nothing else.
  15. Eco was too hard, right... so crafting had to become easier, more accessible, in safety, and so on?... being so easy now to get money in game ( and even at free cost by capturing ships from the NPC ), please tell me the major difference. We are not in 10.x patch anymore, sadly. DLC ships have come to bring even less reliance on the eco - guns and repairs needed, and now suddenly eco is important ... ? Give me a break... *sigh*
  16. Square sails deploy more sail area, overall, in the same hull size ?
  17. The mail packet that sailed from Lisbon to Brazil to bring the news of the defeat of Napoleon in Portugal was a two mast lateen caïque - pretty much flushed xebec suited to much shallower waters even. Had to evade french corsairs, pirates and fight south Atlantic storms. She arrived safely. This is the replica, built in 2008.
  18. Metas. As Z posted, 80% of previous PBs were rattles. #antimetaleague
  19. I am finally running the Xebec in earnest without any "janky" stuff to pull her away from her historical credibility. She performs as expected, a hit and run raider. Overpower what she can, run away from what she can't ( same could be said about the USN superfrigates in a historical sense ). Her use as a newcomer farmhammer is not really the tool fault but how the tool is used. Before Hercs and Xebec it was Princes, Surprises, speed board Wasas, you name it. Was exactly the same with coast guards not even having time to react ( whatever nation, this i can tell you right now ). But that's a discussion separate from DLC ship Le Requin. Used as intended - and by purposefully "nerfing" yourself to not use the "broken" equipment and knowledge - the Xebec makes justice to her historical counterpart.
  20. Blame whatever ANY ships becomes with the mods/books but NEVER blame the mod/book system. Because i know if I blame the true culprits all my other ships might be affected and I only want, those 2 specific ships to be axed but keep my OP ships pristine.
  21. Me too ( not ). As it was tested. Half the squadron would be literally spamming chain the entirely battle, like they did before. Rendering any chance of repair useless due to infinite ammo. All good... ( not really... )
  22. It is when there's no "middle". When there's no operational level because high seas loss and total safety. The bar has been pushed toward it for a long time. Small "nations" had plenty of chance to face off big empire by deploying corsairs, both IRL and in game, but hey we couldn't have that, so lobby as much as possible to protect everything. RvR is eesential, it is the end of the line but NOT at the cost of everything else. When a RvR ship worth of materials is stolen in the high seas, that is proper. It is the small nation way. Now ? No real point. Warehouses full of stuff for an eternity, all produced within total safety - how dare those pesky gits face us off with their guerrilla raids... "newcomers" need protection !!!! Noe, "we need 1 hour" because we want to protect small nations... ...right...right... RvR must be the big battle "end game" but please, not at the expense of all the other age of sail experience.
