  1. It would kill you to sail in something other than a yellow ship? With the current hold capacities it takes not much time at all to amass crafting notes, so it should really be a question of how often you lose ships. Sometimes you might have to sail something that isn't yellow (the horror!).
  2. Presumably the 'flag' is actually a small group of invasion transports.
  3. So you want a game where PvP lasts a month, then you win or lose utterly and PvP stops?
  4. I'd recommend changing one timer as an introduction. Sooner or later they will find a dozen or so Mexicans.
  5. Remove the port timers from Mariel and Matanzas and I would be shocked if there weren't ambassadors coming around immediately. You have no need of these ports, and they are nothing but two big middle fingers sticking up at Havana. Don't expect any cooperation until you stop letting timers do your talking for you.
  6. If all the ports start as neutral, we might as well play as Japan, India and Australia, not the current nations.
  7. Very sluggish merchantmen would sometimes be towed by the escort to prevent them from slowing down a convoy.
  8. Which is sort of annoying when you spent two years saying, 'do something before there are thousands of carebears playing as pirates.' Especially when I was literally one of the first ten pirates in this game.

  10. Because all the mods are talking to each other and reporting their actions. The French mods aren't going to allow the Dutch mods to act in a biased manner or vice versa.
  11. The reason you don't shoot chainshot at over 1km is because the gunpowder charge required would cause the chain to snap. Let's not drag irrelevant details into this thread.

  17. You just made my point for me. Left to their own devices, players will engage in unfair fights. That's why many games enforce fair fights. So why haven't you left?
  18. This is such gibberish, it's hilarious. Crafting causes ganks? What? Human nature causes ganks. You could remove crafting and loss from the game entirely and people would still gank. And again, unless you are sailing around with zero regard for self preservation, AFK half the time, "constant and severe losses" is a ludicrous mischaracterization. Whining and hyperbole are an incredibly unattractive combination. Most people lose a durability like once per month. If you are petrified about your numbers going down, you can manage your risk to the point where it is negligible.
  19. Missions should not be hugely superior to other forms of leveling.

  21. I rather think that introducing player-run bureaucracy into an MMO economy will lead to more, not less, chaos.
  22. Since wind is global in-game, the most realistic pattern would be easterly most of the time.
  23. Make sure you aren't bumping the [ or ] key. Holding LMB and space also fires a broadside.
