  1. Option 3 - Logoff feature after battle in the first 15 minutes, when you re-enter to OW you have a 'you cannot attack anyone' during 15 minutes. So no more invisibility cloaking ganking devices.
  2. I dont expect them as in I dont think they should even be a thing and therefore not needed to be expected by anyone. Obviously game mechanics allow them right now. But only because you can do something, that doesn't mean it's a good and proper game mechanic.
  3. No I frankly don't expect them, if it were to be realistic I want pvp ressembling the way the game is advertised. no arcadey revenge fleets by surrounding a battle location,
  4. So where exactly do you pvp? wait in your greenzone for someone to actively deliver PvP so you can become part of a revenge fleet?
  5. Thats not gonna happen in infront of a capital as you've got a 3 minute join timer, which even allows ship still in port to leave port, prepare their ship (which took its time IRL), and join the battle. However, if you're not DIRECTLY at the capital but still somewhere in enemy waters (where you can actually expect to meet someone; I have yet to find a single pvp battle in the middle of the ocean in no nation's waters), if no reinforcements join in 3 minutes BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT AROUND, why would the attacked ship get any help? IRL (in real life), after an engagement, the victorious captain would sail back to port after engagement, but ingame you can simply call out where you got attacked so that the guys outside can prepare themselves with ease.. Let me give you an example: I attacked two swedish surprises while being alone in my cecilia. This was not outside the capital, but still in their waters where one can actually expect to find pvp. Guess what they did? The two chained me to death, so they could leave and then outside join a group of 8 ships to form a 10v1 revenge fleet versus me. As I had to leave to OW at some time, there was just no way I would get away. Quote from the steam store page: Naval Action is a hardcore, realistic, and beautifully detailed naval combat sandbox Having to deal with in-teleporting ships lining up outside your battle is not realistic nor hardcore under my impression. Hardcore = By leaving port you are aware of the risk of loosing the ship. No need to give anyone a second, arcadey chance to take revenge. But hey, what do I know, only played this game for about 3930 hours, guess I'm still a noob.
  6. Surprise masterrace Especially with the mast thickness buff.
  7. Dunno but I feel like there will be a lot of salt if people not in the PB group are not going to be able to join a PB
  8. We have a 'you cannot join PB for 30 min' timer after entering to OW. So why not have a logout feature after battle, but at the same time add a 'you can't attack anyone' for 10-15 minutes? Logging-in to insta gank someone being reported by one of your friends solved? @admin
  9. insert *you may wanna wait for arena mode* answer
  10. I mean I can see what Tenet is saying. If you have two battle-tagging circles literally next to each other, of which only one has the actual battle happening, the other operating as some sort of screening battle. Sucks, I agree, but not sure there is a good workaround in terms of 'merging' battles which are set up in the same timeframe (half a minute to a minute or something), except increasing battle join timer, which I think will certainly not be healthy for the game.
  11. Can you define "in the area" ? three minutes OW speed seems plenty?
  12. 3 min join timer? Do you know how much 3 minutes is in Open World? Even ships in port can leave port, prepare their ship (which would take a shit ton of time IRL, and NA is supposed to be realistic?) and join the battle. I have had a 1v2 yesterday, me being the one and in a cecilia, versus two surprises, As noone was in range after the 3 minutes, the battle closed, as it should be. But guses what they did? They chained me to death so they could leave which then gave them time to set up a revenge fleet consisting of 10 ships. They eventually managed to sink me. Even longer join timer? God please no. I get that hunting in enemy waters should be and in fact IS dangerous. if you don't pay enough attention, you will be trapped by ships coming at you. However, if you meet a revenge fleet after ESCAPING in a battle.. that is just a broken ass game mechanic. If you now say that one shouldnt hunt in enemy waters... Well then... Go sail the endless sea in the middle of nowhere for a few hours and report us your findings. I bet you won't see a single soul.
  13. Read my OP I am not saying everything should be fair. But hardcore and realistic. So if 5 ships attacked 1 swede near english harbor, and no ships were able to join in the 3 mintutes BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT IN RANGE, so be it. Thats my definition of hardcore Me prefering enjoyable battles rather than 10v1 has nothing to do with the fact that revenge fleets are a broken game mechanic. If they had gotten me in the OW without Camping my battle pos., sure I wouldnt complain as that would be okay and hardcore. (i did find pvp, 2 surps vs my cecilia. Would have been very closr and interesting but obviously the surps knew better and chained me so they could escape and 10v1 roflstomp me.)
  14. Construction costs of 5th rates are actually pretty low at the moment. Cannons cost a bit, sure, but if you've got a workshop to craft them yourself it's not too bad. I think most players dont seek for pvp as they're aware of the fact that they'll get revenge swarmed if they dare to attack anything. In enemy waters, yes, but as I said, in the open ocean, meeting anything is next to impossible. That and the, compared to pve, extremely low gold rewards.
  15. That's what I'm hoping Arena will be like. Hopefully this summer as it was announced. NA Sandbox used to be great fun but it kinda turned into a politics simulator with arranged battles, players not willing to fight in decent odds etc. Not really what I'm looking for.
  16. yup right now the game doesnt deserve the attributes 'hardcore' nor 'realistic'. More like carebearized arcade. You clearly don't know anything about me My 'dream' is to have good fights. I have lost plenty of times in even-ish situations. I can just say that on a pvp server, at any time you leave port, you should be clear on the fact that you're risking loosing it, no matter where you go. Then having revenge fleets to carebearize the risk is extremely arcadey.
  17. Sure but the 'you cannot attack' timer would apply anyway? so you cant enter a wormhole to insta gank someone using a cloaking device. Its "hard" but at the same time hardcore and realistic, as it's advertised, no? Current revenge fleets are pretty careberaized at the moment.
  18. There is a 30 min timer in which you cannot enter a port battle. So why not add a 10-15 min timer in which you cannot attack anyone after logging in? Problem solved?
  19. Waiting for arena lmao
  20. So we can have fallout constitutions entering a 5th dimension to surround fighting ships, but we can't have a feature to give players the chance of taking a break after a battle?
  21. Battle took place at Saint John's / English Harbor. Sailing in the middle of the ocean with no islands in sight, the probability of meeting anyone is next to non existant. If this game's supposed to be realistic / hardcore, why don't just grant captains an escape, if they clearly prooved they managed to escape in the first instance? Realistic = Ressembling reality, and as in reality you wouldnt have to deal with in-teleporting ships, it's clearly a bad game mechanic. But I get it. Most people don't want this game to be a pvp game anymore, but rather a port-flipping / pve game where actual fights dont actually happen, just so players can get a boner looking at their stuff aquired through pve / daily conquest marks income. We had like what, two actual port battles since the wipe? One of which I was in, sant iago The rest was all lame agreements with no fights happening. great gameplay, hellokitty online is it you? Edit: Also this: "Natural risk of a hunter"... I fail to understand how revenge fleets are natural? I mean sure, if they had gotten me regularly in the OW, without the need of camping a battle position, good on them, wouldn't be complaining about that. But setting up a trap after help being called in nation chat, is not natural at all. It's arcadey.
  22. It's not about the ship but the crappy game mechanic Id rather use and sink my ship than let it rot in port for weeks just so I can say Ive got a cecilia you could get a cecilia for participating in the lgv challenge. Hope more of those sort of events are coming.
