  1. Whats with all the recent thread renaming censorship? But yah I agree the china boat is a pain to deal with. Harder to hit (both hull and odd ish angled masts), a lot of crew, good sailing profile... Ingredients for a perfect troll boat Imho the side thickness should be a lot lower.
  2. 1.5 years ago that would have triggered me - because guilty :p But thank god I found out. there is more in life. Still playing but nowhere as excessively as I used to Now back to topic, I agree that the "elite" upgrades you can only get through pve drops (small chance) are too much. But the regular craftable ones seem fine to me (northern carpenter, french rig, bow figures, ...), but I feel like each upgrade could use another 1-2 ports spawning the resource needed to craft them. I think we will be seeing a general upgrade overhaul soon though, where you have to pick a buff from an upgrade pool for each section. E.g. gunnery, either reload or accuracy or pen. Value. Can only have one of it. Admin made a post on that a while ago but I cant find thread at the moment.
  3. Elevator in gamelabs office
  4. kinda easy tbh, was my first time trying one
  5. if you know your smaller guns won't penetrate, and only your largest ones will, it makes sense to disable all guns except the largest ones and only shoot that deck. (f1, f2, f3 etc). I tend to use smaller calibre guns on frigates (12 pdr instead of 18 pdr on the trinc) because of better dps
  6. correct, but big balls penetrate better (thats what she said?), from more off-ish angles and from further away. example: 42 pdr longs will pen a lineship from quite a range, whereas 24 pounders won't pen. at all, and thus won't deal any damage.
  7. Hercules est aussi spécial, une frégate (5ème rang) avec plein d' HP, amarment etc.) qui peut entrer shallow en OW... (au moins pas les shallow PB.. )
  8. Congrats on your millions of gold. Though I dont really see the point in hoarding such a large amount of money. What do you need it for? Will you, in the end, give it all away again as christmas gifts? High timer costs encourage more empty PBs, force players to grind money (which, after some thousands of hours into the game is just boring) and thus lead to more bored players leaving. The biggest impact though with clans having to drop down timers on some ports is a drastic decrease of general action / RvR. When your nation has a hostile "neighbour" port, the nation will most likely play together and work out plans to re conquer that port. Do you know what that means? CONTENT! Average players logging in see that there is a threat and inform themselves how they csn help. Else they would just log in, realize that its just still the same pve-like Environment as usual (which it seems you prefer) and log out after their daily mission. The game doesnt need to be "redesigned". Just a small tweak which could have a decent impact on overall action in the game.
  9. I could live with that
  10. been trying to, but they don't seem to sell lately simply because everyone has plenty of them, and there is no real use for them - except navy hull refit? being able to use marks for port maintenance cost would solve two things at once
  11. 500k (+100k for the port) per timer, per port, per day.. is way too much After 5300 hours of playing the game I don't really want to PvE just to deny being work-flipped / night-flipped / you-name-it-flipped. So two possible approaches Lower timer cost Enable the option to pay for port timers with pvp marks, maybe 5-10 pvp marks per port per day. The second option would also "cut" the amount of PvP marks on the server and thus cut its inflation, making them more valuable again, making pvp more rewarding.
  12. so youd rather have a handfull of people buy 100s of 1 dura hercs to roflstomp everyone else? and / or sell it for ingame gold (as you want them to be tradable) ?
  13. whats next, tax for sailing in a certain area? sea (road) tolls?
  14. unlocked makes your guns converge to a spot, whereas locked fires them all at a 90° angle to the ship locked is good when the ship isn't turning and you got a clear shot unlocked cna be handy when the ship is turning, to get more shots in
  15. yeah, no dlc ships should be allowed in pb's, agree. but that won't fix herc and requins being the only two kings of Shallow-OW-PvP. I am not sure what the plans there are, as the hercules for one historically was one of its class. But IMHO, for the sake of gameplay, it should get either nerfed or just "banned" from shallow water (as any other 5th rate?!) because clearly there is no other shallow vessel match for it.
  16. basically you want the shots to go through as far through the ship's interior as possible, while hitting the gundecks. I'm not sure whether on bigger ships (eg. Santisima) the lower part of the ship has more crew "hitboxes" as the heavy 42 pdr. require more reloadcrew to operate. Would make sense though.
  17. salina point pb. got flipped by rats, though none joined - even though there were still lots of them seen derping around MT, didnt seem to bother about the PB which was right on their doorstep. shame So we did the only thing we could have done, mock silf for not owning a xebec.

    Cannot connect

  19. Sounds good to me if there were dlcs for every ship (1 per day) i'd probably get a few
  20. At some point into the game (5170 hours here) you kind of found what you are interested in the game. For many others and me it is getting pvp on a regular basis, with as little grind / afk sailing / building management as possible. Basically the desire is to skip hours of doing stuff you find totally boring, while also supporting the devs. I believe @jodgi would agree here.
  21. Paid sandboxie version lets you run more than 2 Accounts at a time but it wont be healthy for your cpu / gpu / ram. Lol
  22. You can redeem premium ships as long as you got none in the docks - can have them in the fleet though But I agree that it should count for fleetships too.
