  1. Crafters should be able to customize their ships more, yes. e.g. trim it for a little more turnability, but also in return get less top speed or something. Everything should have a downside, even if it doesn't always make sense - just for gameplay purpose. I think they should just remove purple and gold quality. I don't like RNG, and when people are given the option to craft gold ships, they won't craft blue ones - because of human nature and people always want to have the best stuff possible. (Just like when we had qualities about a year ago - Seeing a ship that wasn't gold ("exceptional") was pretty unusual.)

  3. @admin What are the plans for the santa cecilia in the future? Such a beautiful ship, perhaps the best looking ship ingame. And it has been off screen for what, half a year? (there might be half a dozen still ingame, rotting in ports of players that just bought her for a Fortune to be able to say they own a cecilia - like a Jaguar or Lambo, lol.) Will it be.. Craftable? Premium? Available for marks? Events rewards only? ...

  7. So basically endless durability with a little extra cost? Shouldn't ship crafting then technically "die" as ships never sink 100%?
  8. Then Econ-alts to get ships crafted faster should also be not allowed, right? I know in other MMOs second accounts are not allowed at all. @admin what's the ruleset here?

  10. 1 ship afk fishing over night, 8 hours -> 1 Bottle 8 ships afk fishing over night, 8 * 8 hours -> 8 bottles On the long run at least. Of course you might end up with 6 or 10 bottles, but over time it balances at the droprate.
  11. fir fir generally is never a wise choice for PvP. Unless you see uber ganking alias chasing down a lown small frigate in a group of 5 fir fir wasas as PvP.

  14. Oh dont get me wrong Before the 8 kts boarding i would have taken a herc over requin any time because you could actually turn, and possibly even tack. But with the boarding madness where you couldnt even turn beam reach without getting boarded, not so much. Also the height difference of the hull / guns of herc v requin would most likely result in requins winning hugging engagements. Im glad its sorted out now. It did limit gameplay severely.

  16. Okay so after testing the changes today, I must say I dont like it at all Faced a requin in my herc. 300 ish crew vs 200 on my herc. The changes gave me three options Do as you proposed and go 180°, run away and deny a fight (boooring) Decide to "fight" the Requin at beam reach, don't turn at all - basically broadside vs broadside, guess who's gonna win the DPS battle? 32s carros on a Requin sitting low in the water or 12pd mediums? Aka. getting hugged, Try fighting properly with turns included, which is extremely dangerous. Any turn to about beam reach or a little further result in getting below 8 knots --> get boarded, game over. (The requin won't turn off your side while you performing the turns.) So overall first day of testing has me not liking the changes.
  17. If devs wanna see less ship sunk and more captured / surrendered, buffing boarding at speeds of 8 kts is IMHO not the way to go. There needs to be a bonus in surrendering over getting sunk. Not too sure how that bonus might look like. Back when we had officer lifes it was used a lot. But now with dirtcheap crew there is no real reason to surrender. Benefit of this would be that more "pvp fitted" ships remain on the market, making them cheaper and more affordable on the long run.

Hmm I think i will still take it To deny troll boardings by smaller boats while being in a bigger one (and thus allow Enemy bigger boats get closer and damage my sides while me being unable to do anything) which will now happen a lot more with that boarding at 8 kts possibility. Basically boarding is also some kind of "stun damage" now; precious time in which you cant do anything - cant move, cant shoot - but will get shot Dont think i like that but will test
  19. you should be untouchable after leaving a battle when noone joined it during the 3 minute jointimer you don't like teleport to port, but like "teleport" in OW to the exact battle pos.. ? don't provide revenge squads content. they're lazy.

For the reinforcment zone I understand your worryings, its supposed to be a more safer area now (thus battle is open 90 min with the ability to join anywhere) But for anywhere else on the map, if after 3 minutes noone joined, well noone was in range to help out, right? So why would you be welcomed by a dozen ships after an 1 hour battle outside in the open world? Should also be able to get away then. Players (outside the reinforcmentzone) themselves should be worried about having *enough* protection aka escorts with them.
  21. Battles in reinforcment zone are open all the time for defenders. So no revenge fleet possible (or needed) there, especially when you can join anywhere in the battle with that huge join area possibility. However, anything that is outside of that zone should be you see what you get alias 2-3 min join timer. Solution is pretty simple... Increase invisibility time after leaving a battle to a reasonable amount. Currently it's not of any use if the *revenge squad* outside has any brains. Increase the "you cannot attack" timer (Can still get attacked!) after leaving a battle to a reasonable amount, something along the lines of 10-15 minutes. No ninja jumping out of battles to attack a lone trader prey That was also suggested like a year ago, but didnt see any comment on it (dev side) And I cannot really see a downside of it.
  22. another thing id like to see for the next patch gameplay wise is that once one side of a ship is down completely (0% HP left), sternraking should deal way more damage to the internal strucutre.
  23. So no need for pushing into the wind anymore, just go side by side and board at 10 knots if the speed difference isn't all too great? I thought the requin boarding plague couldn't get worse. lol
  24. so two frigates next to each other, one sailing 10 knots, the other 9.8, can board each other because the difference is only .2 knots? Or is there still a max. speed at which boarding is possible (formerly 3.5 knots)?
