Yah I know which two ports he's talking about and they are set for 1am to 4:am EST which would put the window the last three hours you can do agro (it gives you an hour grace time before server down time to finish the PB). I also tell folks that keep saying why do we attack those ports, "Well when your willing to stay up to midnight two nights in a roll we will flip it, but until than stop complaining." It's not the matter of if we can take them, it's the matter of getting the bodies to stay up two nights in a row at those times. The thing I think is funny that clan complains about not getting RvR and such and they refuse to put one of those ports in a prime time (to keep from multi flip don't have all your windows at the same time). The reason they don't get RvR is no one wants to stay up that late. The other thing is they like to jump into missions when your half done instead of letting the port flip and do the PB. Which means no RvR if you never let the ports go to a PB. We found out last night you take to much of a hit for PvP kills, we where at 90% on a port and after the battle which didn't turn out good for us cause we where pretty beat up and some other issues, we where push back to 29%. So the missions are always going to be on the side of the defender. That a bit chunk of agro to loose all at once after 2 hours of grinding.- 7 replies

If they took the time they sit around bitching about not getting any PvP and did one mission they would get agro and fights. Instead they want to complain all the time. So in other words you guys just want NA:L prettty much? Push a button or instant fights or is that why so many of you guys camp newbie zones instead of fighting each other? Cause it's to much work? If your spending 3-6 hours AI grinding your doing something wrong, very very very wrong. -
He apparently doesn't have OCD and have to deal with clan warehouse and folks putting things out of order.....grrrr I need to go back and put the cannons back in order again.....at least the port one has a sort feature kinda

How about get a team together, go to one of the other clans complaining about lack of PvP/RvR and put a little agro on there port and see how fast they come out and defend it. It seems to be how we get it cause we can't get the ports flipped when we get jumped by 10 players (agro is way broken with AI kills vs player. Went from 90.6 points to 29 with one fight). Really why is there so many folks complaining about lack of PvP but we never see them get together and fight each other? -
No kidding pre-merg I had captured so many US L'Oceans with my Victory with nothing other than Barricades when they would turn and get caught in irons. I have only board prep on them and just go with it (most of them had no clue how to play the rock paper scissors game.) I kinda feel it's a support roll though in battles as it can't go brawlign with the other 1st rates. Honestly think they 36 lbs should be locked to french ships and ships that used them (Bucc, Santi, L'Ocean) and the 42's only to ships that used them too ( Vict and the Pavel) that would give a little more vairation and give the Victory more of it's bite back. No one uses the 36's cause why when it's 1 sec/damage less than the 42's which have way better pen. But this is kinda more another topic. Vic is honestly my fav 1st rate out of all three of them.

1st rates BR's need to be messed with. The Vict sadly lost it's place in Port battles cause it can't match up with DPS and HP against a L'Ocean any more with the meta, it's basically a support 1st rate. We did some testing the last few nights with it. Really wish they had more limits on BR for prots. So like what been mention you can't bring 1st rates except into capital ports. This would mean mid range BR port battles will be limit to light ships so you will see a dozen 4th rates and 3rds over a few 1st rates instead. To many ports are linted to around the 7-10 player mark for port battles that a small squad could own and hold very important ports once they capture them.

Yah but lets be honest if any one remembers the PBTS zone mechanics it worked and it brought all the PVP to spots you knew about. Since port battles took a long time to set you had a lot of fun in the Red zones. They where the only places you could PvP in and all the rest of the map was safe fun area you can do what you want for the most part. It had a good healthy run until it started to loose players for lack of upkeep, support and than turnign it f2p (when I left for WoT). Though I don't want that same model cause this isn't the same game, but I would love to see RED ZONES pop up on the map when there is a lot of PvP and such to draw folks more to that area. Say any time a port has 25% or more agro it turns read and you get a bonus for fighting in that area to your rewards. This way you don't have to flip the port but you can get folks to come fight in that zone any way.

Clan leader meetings? Just use TS since we aren't going to type every thing in game, I mean it's what most nations all ready do any way. You do know you don't have to be in the same clan to do a 12 man group or the 25 man battle group right, hell you don't even have to be in a clan. Though you won't get in a port battle unless your on the list group or not.

Save the wipes for release, if your going to do that than you might as well just reset the whole map. I'm sure many a clans will not be able to take back ports they took from off flips and empty port battles they have now. Again this means only the winners will have them and no one will be able to beat those teams cause no one else would have them. Not exactly a fair deal for the rest of the game. I would prefer they up the cost of the permits than to limit the means to get the marks.

Except we still have laser guided stern chasers which really need to be removed. I seen 2-4 stern chasers out shoot several ships that keep missing most of there bow shots when they couldn't hit with chain only ball the chased ship was still able to hit with chain and slow them down and escape. Another issue the repairs we really need to limit something on them and I still think forcing folks to go battle sails to do repairs would be that way. We where in a fight early tonight and it was a Santi vs a Wasa and L'ocean. Well myself in a Cerberus (no repairs I bought off the store) and a Connie jumped in to help the fellow clan mate in the Santi. As soon as we join the L'ocean split. We had a fun game of tag the Sails on the Wasa until all three of us ran out of chain, got him down to 60 and than 70, but he was able to repair back up to 100% and finaly just pull on us. All while going full sails. If it was real life he tried to repair a sail he would have to bring it down to do so, while that would be a death sentence in game to completely stop I don't see how it's not unreal to require a ship to slow down to say Battle Sales to be able to do repairs. IT's pretty silly one ship can just wait repair and than run when your all out of chain.

When we went to sea trials and when I first started if you got into the game after the first few days, I think if you logged in by the 21st when it went live on the 19th they gave us a Brig, Niagara and Renomee to test. A few months later they gave us the Bucc. Many months later we where give the Indefatigable and Endymion. These where all to test the ships as they where new in game, they where not perm ships. Just like we got the two Aggy's to test the sail changes in ships and such. They where testing tools not perm gifts. As ink stated the only thing perm was the yacht. Of course when the game release we will also have the Pandora which I assume would be much like the Yacht. Still piss about the Yacht was going to buy the game on paypal when I got back from work. Was sent to Brazil for an easy one weak job. Rig goes down and I end up down there with no intent for almost a month and a half through the holidays. I get back right when it goes on steam.....so no Yacht for me...dang you old job and lack of internet lol I did make made money that month though...lol

Fleet ships getting a free teleport.

Was going to say the same thing, you sink you switch to your fleet ship and you have to escape with it too as if it's your main ship. Yah I don't see a problem with sinking your ship to keep it from being capture, but the teleport fleet thing needs to be fixed. As others have mention can there be some way to make it if you loose your main ship you are pushed to OW and put into your fleet ship. This would also mean folks will have to keep proper repairs on there fleet ships too in cause they loose there main one. -

And if your not going to play all parts of the game like CLANS, RVR and such than don't complain about not getting that content. If you want all content in game than you have to play all parts of the game too. It shouldn't just be handed to some one cause they only want to play solo. Piss off enough of your nation and they stop showing up to screen fights or protect your ports and you find out it's not good to piss off half or more of a nation unless your a very big and strong clan. If you want to use that clans port you should get in good favor with them or maybe not have 50 one man clans. I know just in the US my clan would open the ports to just about any clan in the nation except a few ones we know are alts or guys that don't want to work with the system. It's there lost, but than again most of those guys wouldn't use the ports any way. Wasn't that suppose to be in the next patch, which makes me wonder when is this next "BIG PATCH" going to drop? That only helps pirates....who really shouldn't be part of the RvR system any way, they should be having there little outlaw battles, raids and just being a pain in every ones arse for the most part. While we know that some clans are traders only and they would be the guys you want to come visit your ports so you need to get into good with them and also the ones that helped you defend and take those ports. It will help build more unity in clans of a nation, or break them if they are just royal arse to the rest of the nation (we know one clan like that in ours). Smuggling going to get changed next patch so you auto get to enter a port in a trade ship, but I like this where if your not on the friends list you can still come into the port and buy stuff, but it cost maybe a bit more in tax's and your only limited to not being able to put a contract up if your not on the friendly trade clans list. Remember you can still buy from contracts if your not on the list, it just means you can't put a contract up. I actually mention this recently in clan we need more traders in clan that want to make a profit and do runs so I asked the guys to keep an eye out for guys that might not be PvP/RvR oriented in game and see if they want to join. We have some very good trade runs folks should or could be making in the US and a lot of folks aren't using them. I can see a reputation system that would turn the port neutral or the clan for a short time to allow them to be attacked or displaced from the nation. Though sadly it could be abused to much too. The best way to deal with alt clans is to get friends in other nations to help you deal with them. We tried this with the brits to help the, but they where to busy trying to flip another port than to support our flip of the port it didn't work out for them. In the long run the alt clan gave the port to there main in another nation. Sorry if your not willing to support folks helping you get a port back than maybe you should loose it. -
Says who? Really right here in this tread your getting most of the players that are very active on the forums statying it's a bad thing. Now back to the new guys and casual complaining, "Well I shot his mast 100 times." Well did you pen? They have no clue. The other day we made the most we ever made at Marsh Harbor 2 million mainly cause our guys been buying up all the trade goods and such and doing a lot of trade runs right now to support our port cost in clan. You want to know what the port maintenance was? 1 Million, half of what we earned. Why does port maintenance curve so high as your income goes up? What the point of making the money if you loose half of it? I think the curve should be off the 100K only not the 500K fee you add for timers, that should be a flat fee and the curve should be off the 100K only. We loose money every day cause of most our ports don't make money, but we need to keep them up to protect our nation coast line. Their prob isn't another clan in the US right now that can hold that many ports and we don't even have that many. It's not breaking us cause we have enough active players doing econ on the side and some of our guys are sitting on 200 million (not my broke arse). I just don't understand how tax's go from 10% for every one else, but I have to pay 50% port maintenance on my earnings for a port? @admin Can you maybe shed some light on how the maintenance curve works on what your charged daily? Cause it makes it realy hard for a small clan/nation to keep multi ports up over big clans/nations. This right here would fix the problem. We only see the splinters when it's a penetration and nothing else. That will give both the attacker and defender notice of penetration. Than give the powder puff ball when it's close to snapping or what ever you want to call it. Other wise have non pens give no visual indication of a hit.

What packages did you get promise to buy the game? The only thing that has been given was the Yacht and that is a redeemable you can't loose. Every thing else we have been given was for testing and such and wasn't any incentives to get folks to play. Unless he's talking about the NYE gift of paint, mod and poods, but well that means you have to be actually in game and active to know to have redeem them and that means you weren't playing the game if you lost those things.

I kinda of like this but only the first half part. Make it two ships to support any one Master Com and below and any one above that rank gets one ship. Even Rear Admirals can use help specially if out number. See he is a prime example of the problem, the solo hunters aren't the probelm it's the groups that come up and gank folks. Those are who your hearing most the complaints about. Hell we don't mind the 1-2 guys groups hunting in our waters as it keeps us on our toes, it's when folks come up with 5-10 ships is the issue and than wonder why folks won't fight them cause they out class the lower levels and newer players big time. These are good fix's I think in the right direction. They should not be prime hunting grounds for PvP players. That and the issue is why aren't these PvP players/hunters attacking each other. Many of times I seen one or two groups just sitting outside of CT waiting for victims and not attacking each other. Funny they are the same players on here we hear bitch about not enough PvP or RvR but some how they never attack each other....lol The missions should be wipe clean at server reset. I shouldn't have to use my cancellations straight off on a new day cause I have missions left over the day before that i no longer need. I would honestly leave them for up to a certain level. Lets say Master Com as that is the mid level and you can make that with the exams, but not every one can pass it. Cause really it's hard to find the lower rank ships around capital/deep water ports. I would love to see more AI fleets of better mix for different level ships to be honest if the missions are touched at all. Uh manybe they need to go pick a fight with another RvR/PvP nation and they will get fights instead of picking fights with new players, casuals and carebears? You want to know how to get a fight? Go flip a major port of a clan and you will get a reaction. That what we been doing to get our fights. When was the last time half these players actually went and did RvR? I'm not talking about empty ports I'm talking about flipping a port in one of the prime time and fighting it out? Take a look at all the port battles we had over the last few weeks and who actually started them and who hasn't done a single port battle. I also don't mean to go flip a weak nations port. You want a fight, you want RvR/PvP than pick a nation that can fight back and go pick a port of there's that is major econ. When was the last time LIttle Harbour, Nassua, Cart, Estro's, La Navas.....etc any of the major money making ports been attacked? I hear folks constantly saying, "There is no PvP." Well go make it than, that is how it was done in POTBS you went to flip a port and put it into red (didn't even have to put it into Port battle) and you had PvP in front of that port. You can do the same in game. Go to one of those ports and do one set of missions and see how fast defenders come out and jump into your missions. If your such a great PvP folks than you would be doing stuff like this not camping capitals for your PvP. You know why we have a lack of RvR/PvP? Cause most of the PvP/RvR guys that are so call Vets/Elite refuse to fight each other for the most part. -

Which is good, if you want safe production stay at the capital, if you want good ships and production use a captured port and protect it. I also think production of shipyards and workshops should not be in free towns either. Yes this will kill the three nations if they ever get one ported but they are hard mode after all, solution is don't get one ported. They need something since they own the port, right now it's not working where any one can go in with an alt and just out bid and the clan that owns it gets nothing other than the tax, which by the way as you make more money you pay more in upkeep tax's right. Like up to 50% of your profits which is BS. Goods are getting taxed 2-3 times in ports? Prob the best option to give Clans control of a port, you want goods from that clan get on there good side. Most of our clan income is from our own clan trading in our ports not the nation. Cause most of the nation is still hiding in the safe zone trying to nickle n dime what they can find in there. So this is not correct. -
I get the sails thing, the only time I would want maybe sails change is in Port battle any only your team see's it maybe. Like in POTBS we use to have teams. I normally ran the Pirvateers and light ships for the flank side captures and would run Red Team, but only our side could see it. As for the Flags I would make it all clans can join once they reach that level of game play. I'm not a big fan of leader boards, stats boards yes but not leader boards. See to many folks pad stats to get on leader boards. Devs been talking about having a leader board that list the top active clans in each nation. So that way we know they plan to gather info. I would give them more than one option as ways to get the flag. PvP and RvR being a way or maybe separate flags for such. Lets go with 10 port battles. It doesn't mean you have to win them all. If you want the flag than you need to be active in RvR and that means you need to attack other nations. Remember this is a reward for being the clans that are doing the work and being active not for who ever is the most popular in a nation. Not every nation will have a lot of RvR clans. If say Poland wants to get a flag for there main clan than Poland needs to get off there butt and attack more ports. Thus encouraging more RvR in the game. If you don't have enough folks in your clan/nation to do RvR than you shouldn't get RvR rewards. Time to go to another nation that has them or to get more active. With the leader board thing maybe a pennet for the ships for the guys in the top 10 place of a nation for RvR or PvP? So you can look at that ship and say, "Hay that is an PvP/RvR clan or that clan only does PvP."

I was thinking on this is maybe make it a reputation thing so that a clan can't get a flag until they have done so many port battles or been involved in. They get a points system that allows them once they reach a certain level they can upgrade the clan to allow for a flag. This will cut out the billion little one man clans and make it a status you want to earn in game with you and your clan and team work with others.

Than you either become friends with that clan or you get it by buying it through some one that can buy it. Remember I said clans can bring it back and sale it at the capital for a profit. Why should an alt of some one that didn't fight for the port be able to come in and out bid every one and take the goods of a port that the clan worked very hard to capture (in most cases) and pays for the upkeep of. If your going to quit the game over that cause we just made it more of a players economy than sorry the game didn't need that player. That player is some one that wants every thing the easy route. Oh and let you on a little secret. I get Cart Tar all the time, but I don't get it from the port. So it's not a deal breaker and I bet I pay way less than every one trying to buy it in that port. There are other ways to get resources if you just get out of port. Why should we support the freeloaders and alts? I think that is a point a lot of us want to get a across. Alts aren't ruining RvR they are messing the Player Economy up so folks are not supporting it as much as nations should be. This is coming from some one with 5 chars in the game, but currently all mine are in the same nation (though two do have papers to switch if I wished too). Though if I own a major resource port like Copper, Cart, WOODS than my clan should have first dibs at those resources without paying an arm and a leg to out bid some ones alt or some care bear that never leaves the safe zone but is rich as dirt. -
I always thought one way to limit RATES in battles would be to limit 1st rates to only regional capitals. Maybe have some of them limit to only 2-3rds if they are smaller regions. Than even have some regions limited to only 4th rates only. The other thing is to have 1st rates only able to dock up in capital ports of a region if owned by the nation. NO SOL can stay docked up in Freetowns. Why would these freetowns want a nations big of war ships docked up in there ports together like a giant melting pot ready to explode? This will limit folks to using more frigates and not so much using the SOL's cause they do the most damage in game all the time.

This is how you make the perks not locked to a port or region. If a clan owns a port they get a wider RNG chance of the Purple/Gold ships and the bonus perks that you can't get in the safe zones. Safe zones all you can get are 3/5 ships with maybe the extra crafting perk. Out side the safe zones you get a chance of the added perks that we for right now only see on captured AI ships (minus shady of course). Maybe owning the whole region will give you an added RNG chance over owning one port in that region. -

You know how you fix this? Make it a clan only perk, only the clan that owns that port gets the perk so alts can't just pop in and use that port. With that another suggestion we have brought up. Add the optoin that clans can lock contracts to ports by either: All Nation (I'm US so any US player can put a contract) or Friendly Clans only (Like PB list but clans will have friendly clan only list for trade) or open to all (auto setting if you set the port open to all). This will limit the use of alts to go buy up goods from important ports owned by another nation. You want those goods you fight for them or you get in buddy buddy with the clan in your nation that owns that port. Your a solo player that wants those goods, tuff luck join a clan than. Other wise the clan can bring back the goods and sail them in the safe zones for a marked up price to the folks that want to stay in them and not venture out into the big world. -
I would assume like other games (POTBS, WoT, etc) you would have an approval of such flags/sails and or report system so we don't have a bunch of Hello Kitty or flying what ever in game. Really they need to get paints back into game and some way to recognize clans fleets from each other in battle. It's very confusing when you try to tell a group of guys to do something over another group. When they can't really tell each other apart in battle. As for immersions, this is a game after all folks not a simulator.

It would be to hard to filter out folks that talk to the ignored unless it's to them directly. What I don't like about the ignore list is that the person you have on ignore can still see what your type. I watched the other night two guys get into it, a clan mate was one of them and he put the other guy on ignore per request of me and just ignored the guy, but the other guy keep responding to every thing he typed to other players trying to egg him on and was getting more and more pissed cause he wasn't answering back (cause he had him on ignore couldn't see his comments). Maybe ignore should work both ways neither party should be able to see what each other types.
