We Need More Ships

Just cause they /HAD/ planned for a Jan/Feb 2017 release doens't mean it's going to happen any time soon. We aren't even in a beta stage yet and things need to be finisehd. RvR needs to be tweeked more and they stilll haven't even came out with any Pirate Mechanics. I still don't even see us making a summer release at the rate the Devs are moving so don't have a clue why folks keep thinking we are looming any where near a release. Exactly I think we have plenty right now with them dropping say a ship every month would be just fine if not every patch. I'm sure there are more than just a few ships in the works. Why do we need all the bells and whistles now? We need to save some of that stuff for after release. That road-map needs to be updated. I brought it up all ready they need to do a new year update and let us know the comming plans a bit to help keep interest. I still want to know where the heck my pirate mechanics are. It's been a year of EA and it was voted to come out after RvR right? Well that stuff is out and being tweeked, it's time for the Pirates to get some love. Mainly to shut folks up and maybe give them some identity in game. Exactly, we don't need all the bells and whistles, we need to work on more inportant things with them dropping a new ship prob every patch or two and then let more ships bleed into the game as it release and after. I never really see this game as being one that will be FINAL. Like many other MMO's they will need to release little extra content here and there. That and I would like to see that new US privateer the Something Prince....but than I love me some small ships. I would like toe see the Hermione cause it's more a ship I would sail. Any one know why it didn't make it into the patch? Could of swore the early notes said it was suppose to make it into the game by now. -

I don't know about that, but I was told it was what ever the AI use is what you ship will us. Some AI's use longs and I think even a few cars.... -
I was thinking the same thing. This is like on NA and folks all ready talking about what features NA2 should have. Shouldn't they finish the first one before you even start to talk about a second one? I can see maybe them adding some more content later with more battles an side missions.

I wouldn't be suprised if they don't all ready have an UI for us, cause I been on other games that gave you a dummy UI to use until the game actually was released or had a lot of features removed/hidden -
I went over to PvP1 with a basic cutter and did a midship level mission and I got Rattlersnakes agaisnt my guys. Did some more with a friend and we keep getting way out classed ships for a Rank 1 missions. I think there is something wrong with the balance system cause we should not be fighting ships with 120+ crew in a basic cutter. If poor new players got these missions they would be killed every time.

For your info we gave the Dutch back the land that we took from the Brits down there. We gave back Spanish the ports so they could have 5 min. We gave back a lot more than you know. Than again you where US back than so I would assume you prob don't know what else was going on in the game. Once again your talking about stuff that happen months and months ago and not the current state of the game. How can Dutch give back Tex and LA you don't own them? Ya'll only took there last region. Than again what French are left?

Well maybe if you wanted to test things than stop your little care bear alliance and test it on a nation that can fight back. Sounds like a bunch of cowards to me. If you would of liked a small nation to make it you don't crush them. You don't ask another larger nation to take there ports for them. If you wanted to take those to stop one group of Swedes you should of took it your self and than when the alliance is broken you give it back to France. US WILL NOT GIVE IT BACK. They never give back ports/regions to any one. When we fought the brits they took brit ports back from us but never gave them back to brits. You would think if they are supporting you they would let you flip, win and than do what you want with the port, but no they take it and keep it. France is prob never getting those ports back again until maybe a region reset of the game. It may be tomorrow, it might be 6 months from now. Don't worry about it and just play the game. We loose to many folks every time a new big patch is about to come, but than that patch takes more than a month to show up and the server is even more dead for a month or two cause folks stopped playing thinking the patch was going to be here sooner instead of later. Just look at the last few patches that came out and the drop of players. I would like to know there year plan or well 6 months to get updated. They do need to do a good wipe of resources, regions and ships all at once and let us properly test this game from scratch before it moves to a Beta stage. The next thing they need after the ship is to finally work on PIRATES since national is pretty much in game just needs tweeks. Maybe we will hear something new?

Because if they can come on and tweek a port battle BR restriction they can tween the times for Port battles that every one been complaining about for over a month now. I'm sorry that ship is new and should be restricted until it's fully tested to make sure it's fair for port battles. Yes pretty much every one got one free, that great but so far our test it out guns and beast just about ever connie/aggy we put against it so port battles are going to be pretty much nothing but these ships until they are all sunks. Oh wait maybe not cause it's all about the race to the circle. IF they can jump on and hot fix things this fast than there are other things they prob should of been able to do too in the past. I bet you it's some one wanting to bring them in to port battles is why it was fixed so fast. The Aggy wasn't even allowed for months when it first came into game and even than it wasn't until after it got a nerf that it was allowed. Yah I love how they totally ignore the important things that a large number of players have been complaining about for the past month or so, but they jump on little things that really don't need to be tweaked at this moment. I mean at least they can come out and say, "We are looking into a better solution for the problem, but it is known to us at this time." Instead we get little to nothing. They are very bad about doing that. Things that need a response even if it's just to say we are looking into it they are silent about. Than if you question little things like the stupid pray button they jump all over the person. But hay I guess we are going to see like 35+ of them at Kidds tomorrow than? If anything we can get to test them out on a bigger scale than just the duels we been doing with them to test them. Like I said before they have beaten every Connie/Aggy we put them up against in duels with every player so far being some of the best on or server. I'm just glade they are slow as hell.

Hotfix 5 for patch 9.97 - event changes + minor fixes

We did and even the hostility missions had 15 min timers when they first came out. Some how I missed the notes where it was reduced to 5 mins though. I really think this should be bump back up to like 10-15 mins as it's to short to find folks to counter grind them building hostility by joining there missions. Yesterday we found 2 first rates and a exxes grinding up kidds and only the two light/frighates was able to join cause of the 5 min window. We had guys just about to get there that fell short. I'm sorry your that close to an enemy port we should be able to join when there is an act of war going on. I get the instant close battle windows and like that system, but the agro system needs that open window cause we might of been able to sink them or sent them home to stop them instead they out number us and out agro/counter us. If we could of hit each one (we did get a Vict in another battle and sunk him) we could of used our smaller numbers to send them packing by joining the battles and helping the AI's. Specially when sails are at full and you take a good blow. I see way to many folks fighting at full sails. There is a reason it's called battle sails and I hardly see folks use it and they wonder why they get so much sail damage in a fight presenting full sails. Good point, but also the same thing can be said of a mast under strain damage with full sails would prob snap way faster than a mast that isn't under as much strain cause of either sail damage or it's at say battle sails. -
Why should it matter? You should just play the same up till the patch and be done with it. I realy think they should do a resource wipe with it too. Other wise folks are going to hold there resources and not build things up to that patch or even stop playing like they have in other patch that where to come. While I would like to know when the patch will come, but I play the same up to the new patches with major changes no matter what cause I'm here to test this game not just play what I like or not. Though an update of the plan and such would be very much welcome right now. I really think they need to touch pirates finally it's been a year and still nothing. A lot of folks want something big and I just can't see any release any time soon until they put in this mechanics and get us to test it. RvR system is there and still needs tweaks, but we got enough nations to test that so lets bring in the pirates stuff now. Make that the next big patch after the ship building patch is released.

I really think a maintenance tax for ports is good. If you and your clan can't afford the tax of that region to up keep it than it should get agro and go neutral allowing any nation to capture it after that. Right now though to many folks are money stuffed and resource stuffed so there is no reason to fight over regions. That and if you can share you regions than why fight? I also think ship building should only be in regions you own. You can build and set up buildings in other regions of alliance, but ship building should all ways be in your own regions. This would mean you need to own that agil hull, hull strength, Pirate Refit what ever region to build there your self. You can get the oak, teak or what not from there, but you can't actually build from that region if you nation doesn't own it. Yes this kinda hurts the little guy, but gives more incentive to help them get there own regions if you have an alliance with them and helping them out, instead you have the big guy gaining more and more regions and the little guy not gaining any at all. I'll use US as an example on PvP2. Every alliance they have had and helped every one in it out they have been the only ones really gaining any regions. They crushed France and took the two regions cause of the war between Dutch and Swedes. Those regions prob should of been for Dutch to take since they are the ones at war. France wasn't really involved, but got voted in by Swede alts (that I hear) to the alliance in the first place. Since there is no conquest end game in yet or planned as far as I know than there is no reason to take a nation down to one region other than just to crush them. I think every nations should have three regions. There Capital region like we all ready have. One good refit region that is tied to there nation so they all ways have it: Brits: British Refit Danes: Northern Carp Dutch: Northern Carp France: France Refit Spain: Spanish Hunter Swedes: ? US: ? Maybe the Strong Hull since they are know for it. Than one other region that has no purpose build wise (no regional bonus). This will keep nations from being totally crush alliance or not. It can be brought down to two regions perm, but the point is the same give them room to rebuild. As for the alliance system I like what been said about a penalty for taking on a weaker nation when your way stronger. There needs to be some incentive to play those nations. We need map resets too. When a nation gets so many regions the map resets that way a country will want to keep it down to a certain numbers if they don't want to reset every thing and loose all the extra regions they gain. This would pretty much be like the conquest win. That nation gets a big prize for it's players and than the other nations get a little prize for there actions in the wars. We all start over. Other wise the map gets stale and nothing happens. Just about every nation except Brit/Dutch/US is currently down to 1-3 regions. And they are the only ones that those three are fighting right now are the smallest nations that can barely field 10-15 players in a port battle while the alliance has had 20-35 every port battle I seen so far. Port battles need to change some how to not be a race to the cap circles. There is no skill an now one fights any more for the most part. We had a Port battle the other morning with 17 Pirates vs 23 Brtis/US (would of been more but Brit/Dutch alliance is on cool down). We had to scratch really hard to get that 17 to show up and we only did it to help the Danes out that had 10 show up to there port battle (only 4 Dutch/Brit/US showed). Even though we lost we helped them keep there port. No biggy cause it's still a learning experience. http://imgur.com/gtHpueN The problem with the new system is that no one really fights any more. Two kills with that many players is kinda sad. In the old system we prob would of brawled it out and with the Pirates having normally more experienced team we have crushed odds against us in many fights like this. It still might of been a lost of taking the port, but we prob would of killed a good number of there ships. Which gives us a fighting chance,but the new system is more who can get the most number of ships into the circles fastest so your smaller nations will always loose. It would be even worse for the smaller guys that can't even field 5-10 and have no alliances at all. Two largest nations should never be allowed to have alliance with one another. While we can use the voting system to decide who is the most active population, it can be messed with to scew the numbers by just not voting. So I think the rule should be the number of regions they own. If they are the two top owners of the regions they should not be allowed to make an alliance with one another. I'm more extreme and even think they should be forced at war with each other to be honest. This will force them to take in smaller nations as there alliance and force nations to actually fight each other and over the special regions.

I had family in the Battle of Pea Ridge Arkansas myself. Would love to see more of the Louisiana and Texas area area added too. I know they can't do all the battles, but it would be nice if they expanded the list more and more over time.

Like is the BP's limited as in with the gifted perk to getting it only if you have not learned it yet? Just wondering before I learn one and than find out I loose the chance to maybe get another I can pass on to other Clan members. -

And why have the ships not changed? I mean we had the cerb for what a week and now we have had the Rattler for 2-3 weeks. I actually liked the Cerb one. I can't stand the Rattler one cause I like them for speed not brawlers. It needs to be changed up a bit or something. That and some folks have figured out the groove and are pretty much the same folks winning over and over. -
Not really all they have to do is change the game BR limit for the Port battles. We had to download something so that means they changed data in the files. Not like it matters now as it's allowed in them.

Nothing else? Like fix the port battle timers so US players can actually play port battles in there prime times and maybe not have Port battles that can start while down for maintenance/updates?

I done this a few times when I caught newbies in the shallows. I get there sails mast down and some times crew and than leave. Other times I have helped them get out of irons. A few I have even offered ships to at a free port to help them. I do feel bad the one time I found one of them Unicorn Spaniards on PvP2 and he was attacking an AI Pirate in our waters. I popped into the mission with my LVG fully loaded with goods. I sunk his escort (AI ship) and than told him if he leaves I'll let him as long as he leaves the little pirates alone. Well he fired a shot across my nose and I ment to his space bar and only fire one cannon of grape into his ship. I Tapped my mouse instead and gave him a full broadside. I killed all 40 of his crew on his basic cutters (before the last patch). I felt so bad didn't mean to kill all his crew. I rushed back to port and message him and to told him if he meets me at a friendly freeport I have a new ship for him. He didn't message back. Prob ran the poor guy off (or didn't know how to chat back). I felt so bad that day....well until I sunk a few other Nats than I felt better. So yah some times it's worth it to be nice and have a good sport about things. Good post.

EA players all got the Pickle BP an Niagara and a Renno ship to start out with when the game went live from EA. That helped even though I was a starting player and couldn't use them, but something like that with one other being a trader would really be helpfull. Not that I couldn't get into a bigger ship fast. I tested it on PvP1 with just a basic cutter and in 3-4 hours I had a Trader Snow I capped and used for tradering. A LVG I bought, a Trinc I bought (both from store) and about 2-3 million in gold. This all starting with 0 gold and a basic cutter. With a clan that grind would be faster and than set up shops for every one you can have folks back into ships within a week or two.

USA Pirate Alts used to Raise hostility

The funny thing is we know they just war bombed kidds and they use an alt to make them at the port and than they trade them over to turn them in. So if they want to bitch about alts they should prob make sure they clean house a bit also. We don't complain cause that is part of the game and the alts aren't turning in the War Supplies themselves. The problem is every time we use the actual game mechanics against them and out smart them on something. Like dropping a port battle the same time they did they cry fowl play with little to no proof. In fact I made sure just now to explain what happened. Well on our side of it. The even more funny thing is that the three largest nations have been in an alliance and not fighting each other and they cry every time they get beat cause we are the better players. Maybe if you spent less time complaining and more time learning the game you might win more. Specially if you stop care bearing each other and fight each other you would get better at it. -

This should prob be moved to National News if one of the Mods for the forums want to move it for us. That night we noticed US was grinding Danes region and we have had (BLACK CLAN) a long standing alliance with them since I even been a pirate. They are the only nation we haven't been stabbed in the back by. Since we know they been off playing other games we decided we will grind up Cap Francais and flip it when ever the US did the Danes region to make matching Port Battles to help them out. We got a hold of them and let them know about the agro, but didn't get a response back until late that night. When server maintenance went down both regions where at 100%. When server came back up CF was at 88% as you loose 12% during server down time. We noticed that SD was at 91.8% so we figured some one was grinding it still for flipping it so I and a few other that where SEA/AUSS players stayed up to watch it. Servers come back up for me at 3am. SD flipped a little after 4 am putting it at the 3am time slot cause it's under the two hours windows. When we saw this we went out and did two CURSE level missions and flipped CF to put it at the same time slot. You have a very big nation so any one could of came along and flipped that port. If you did not want it to flip after server reset you should of gained 100% agro before 10pm CST (the cut off with current port battle times) to give it a 8pm CST port battle time slot. Something Devs need to fix. Cause that means we can't have any port battles during US prime time which is 8pm to midnight CST. Right now the latest is 6pm PST which most folks aren't even home from work or school yet. The last few port battles flipped from US has been before 5-6pm CST. The ones on Christmas day was noon. So before you bitch about port times you need to think about the times you been flipping ports too. 5-6pm CST is great for PST east coast players which I hear Brits have a lot of and prob so does US. If SD was such an important port for US to flip ya'll should of flipped it and showed up with more than 4 guys. Danes told us like 2 us and 2 dutch showed up for it, but ya'll where able to field 24 US/Brits (mostly brits) players at CF to defend it. Good job we weren't even expecting that many folks to show up and was actually expecting ya'll to split and have the US/Dutch fight the Danes (think they had 10-12 show up but not sure). I was told that the 4 popped in and than left when they saw the numbers that showed. It wasn't any loss for us as it was an attack other than the two Connies we lost. We kind of screwed up on the wind but it's a learning experience still as we don't have your numbers or the number of PB's y'all have done (taking hollow french ports) to get all the kinks worked out. http://imgur.com/gtHpueN 17 Pirates vs 24 Brit/Us at Cap Fran. You don't want 3-4am battles than flip the ports early and not sit on the agro, or get your self more SEA/AUSS players. It's a global server after all. Not even sure why ya'll are complaining cause even with your little care bear alliance of the three largest nations ya'll can field almost a full team at any time of the day which we have yet to field even close to 20. Most we gotten so far was 19 and that took a lot of calling and getting folks up at odd hours. Which looks like ya'll did to as we haven't seen a few of those names in a long time. Good job on the defense and getting the numbers on line. Now for my biggest complaint, these port battles are nothing but race to the circles and cap them. As you can see only two guys where sunk. I think that is the most so far other than the the one french guy getting sunk that has been killed in any of the new port battles on PvP2 there
