We will just have to wait and see how this turns out....something is better than nothing. Kinda happy about the return of green on green so folks will not worry as much about us as there will prob be some clan vs clan fights in pirates lol Though we still should be more like privatters with the choice to be full blown pirates (outlaws). I'm now all for it as a way to do Paid funded expansions to the game. We will just have to wait and see. I think this is what throwing most folks off is the way it was worded. If we are funding for the game while it's being alpha than they should come up with founder packs for those that help. Cause isn't that exactly what we are doing by paying for EA without using a kick starter? That is what the money from EA is suppose to go to is to fund getting the game complete for release without using some big backer. Maybe with the new crafting mechanics it will allow us to add some more guns to traders at the cost of cargo space or add more crew. I'm hoping so cause I kinda want a cross between the Snow and Trader snow for shallow hunting. Kinda like how we have the LVG that works great for that in deep water. Though would still want something between like a surprise size ship. If they add agro NPC they need to tone down more of the NPC AI out in the open world than they all ready have. Getting tagged by one and pulling in a bunch of fleets is going to piss a bunch of folks off. Yah for the Connie that is how I see it. Now for future ships I can see doing packs that help the game grow to add more content, but they need to be a set goal of how much it cost to hire that 3D designer to make the ships in a timely manor and have them added to the game. Those that put into the Kick start could get the BP's and maybe some special paints/skins for there ships, but the BP's are either go into crafting tree or other ways you can get in game if you didn't donate to the kickstart. When they reach a limit they need to close it out and if any extra money from one goes straight into the next project. This can be very easly abused too if we see a very slow time table and response from these. Right now this game was suppose to release around now with last years plan. Now it's looking more and more like a summer release or even end of year. Are we waiting another year for slow content release? By than the engine for this game prob needs to be updated and than we might as well start working on the NA2 and all that mony spent will be mute. I would prefer before they talk about NA2 they work on an update for the current game to a new engine/system than come out with a total new game. Yah once it was explained better I cooled down on not liking the concept. Think it just needed to be explained better, came out more we just want more of your money before we even finished the game and what we promised you. I really think they need a community manager for dealing with post and reaction as it doesn't all ways come out on both sides very well between the players and the dev team. As long as all those things you paid for I can get in game through grinding or PvP. This is how SC puts buying ships in a good perspective cause any of the ships you can get in game after it releases. And they have plans for some ships you can only get in game. Once they get to one point you won't be able to buy the ships (certain ones) with real money either. Honestly I'm happy there is going to be something, but I really wish it was more a privateer style class with Outlaws instead of what I'm reading so far. Seems they are still keeping us like just a bastard child nation more than anything. -
You demanding intent will never work as you got to get all nations on board. You notice you never see post from certain ones? Than you have the other dead/low pop ones. I'm pretty sure we can guess Spanish to just stay alive, the whole two players. Would love to see US give them the Spanish Hunter region back to them that is next to there capital so they have one more region and can craft something with a regional bonus. Brits could give them something on the south side of Cuba too (none of those have regional bonus). Would be nice if US gave back France the LA and maybe Texas to help them out. But those cards are in US hands and they have never given any ports back in the history of the game as far as I can remember. And saying a couple of pirtes. Other than Black clan there are only a few active pirates lol Ya'll still think we are a legion or something just waiting for something to zerg every one. Yah the whole 10-15 (more like 5-10) of us (use to be 15-20 average). If swedes ever get there numbers up I'm sure he will get pushed out yet another nation. I mean how many are left that he hasn't gone to? One of our biggest fear is he will come to pirates, but hay it looks like we might get green on green back in pirates soon so maybe that would be a good thing if he did. I'm pretty sure we will make sure to sink him and his buddies on site if he did that. lol

Per Google translator. Yah I didn't want to say up there that we know ya'll are SEA cause half the time we have to chat through google translator. I think this did come out pretty close. You are so confused, random band rhythm, the United States, Britain, France and Switzerland and bedbeny together when attacking Denmark, how do not you come out, said: the Netherlands to help bedbenny fight Denmark fast stop Bluntly is selfish and forgetful, he did not know what is still blaming others I hate bedbeny, Danish CCCP and CN will not have any cooperation with bedbenny, now the cooperation for the cooperation with Swedish new guild As for badbenny we do n not like him either, but we will work with the rest of the swedes to help them out and France. We don't think we should judge one nation by a few players that ruin it for others. Prime example the three Dutch that want to keep attacking pirates and Castries. We just ignore that they are dutch and grind it back down and hunt for them. When it comes all dutch attack us we will go to war with them. We currently aren't even at war with any one. We just want that buffer zone and that is it. Than we want to keep things to the OW and PVP. We might still flip a port here or there but that would be only to get a Port Battle and it will not be major home ports or econ hubs. And we see none major econ hubs as any regions you own more than one of, cause yoiu can all ways use another regions to replace that resources you might loose. IE why we attack Little Habour and the fact it was pirates and only pirates should have the Pirate refit. I bet you there are more US/Brit ships made out of Pirate refit than pirate ships. They do like to run even when they out number us after all lol

I can see backers get a special paint/Skin for there ships. Maybe a perm redemabel like the yacht is for paypal buyers of the game but do it for paint/skins for the ships in the package. That way it doesn't effect any actual in game stats. I would say they get first dibs at the BP's which might be also gained in game. -

Now that I think of it it's not to bad, but makes me wonder how much would they need to get these ships modelded I guess by some third party? That and will any of the kick starters that tribute get anything special? I think that is what a lot of folks are wondering. At least something. I'm so tired of folks saying they aren't a nation. Well we are until the dvs say other wise so they need to deal with it, but if we get some love they can't say antyhing cause than we know exactly what the devs plan for pirates. -
This cracks me up I really would love to know where ya'll come up with this stuff? I went through this port battle by the way of the Danes vers the Dutch you made this comment and not one pirate alt that I KNOW OF was in that port battle. CCCP is the former clan CN cause there leader went MIA/AFK so they made a new clan. I believe the majority of them are SEA players as to why they tend to fight early US mornings. For that exact port battle we where only asked to screen the port. I think one or two pirates made it to do so. I really think you make things up to a point that you start to believe them.

Speaking of which would be nice to know the update on this patch as it was what Dec/Jan and now we are nearing end of Jan. -
If you read what Koltes posted you would know our intentions....... This is were pirates stand. The land that we are taking is what we believe should be the buffer for our capital as well as to provide basic needs for the nation. This is pretty much Baracoa, Nuevitas, Puerto Escondito, Cap-Fracais, Crooked, Turks. We will also keep the Castries for silver and Kidd's. From there on there will be no conquest that concerns pirates. The ports that we will attack outside those mentioned will be purely to get some PB fights without intention to keep. On this same basis we will be working as privateers for hire to help other nations get their territories and of course get paid while doing that. We have said we will freely give France Silver back if we are given back our silver. I mean US does have two other silver ports after all, but hay that will never happen. Though cause we know it's a major trade hub we do shallow water PvP there and if it flips it flips. So far we haven't had a big enough force to do any harm at Little Harbor, but we have captured and sunk a lot of ships after the port battle. Hay who needs to go to port battles to get the chest/paints. Just wait out side to get them from the winners.

I still think it would work better if they made them Privateers instead of Pirates for the nation tag. Than give them voting like the nations do but that voting is for which nation they work for as Privateers. Clans member votes will be tally up and for that cycle the clan is Privateers for that nation. This way they can change out and help different nations depending on the current war and politics. While you are a privateer you can us that nations resources, but none of there alliances. This will give you one nation that can be the swing in the fight as it's members can join and help any other nation so they fill in the void that is left open by the smaller nations. I agree Kidd's should be the capital. Make Mort like how Pitt's was and a neutral town/region for all nations since it's so central. This way no matter what all nations have a few ports they can do some basic econ out of. "OUTLAWS" Will be any one that doesn't want to join a nation as a privateer and these will be a traditional Pirate per say since most pirates where just privateers without a job/contract cause there was no wars going on. -

and you can't do 3x3 or 6x6. We would kinda like more of a training room too or make a dual room where you can change some of the things or pick maps/ports to fight in. -
Yah I mention we prob needed two fast fourth rates or something to help control the cap circles a bit better. It's hard when you don't have the max 25 to do stuff like that. We pretty much are leaving mortar brigs out of the fight until we can bring a full force or close to it. That and it's hard to get folks that won't get in TS to do things. There was a few guys that where getting in the way more than helping or wouldn't attack a target that needed to go down first. I went out pretty fast with Minnows GOLD BOARD fit. I had a 1 dura old pink bellona with some green/blue mods on it I just couldn't feel like breaking down. She was a bit faster than eh first rates and 2nds but still very limited. That map and around that time we been getting about the same wind so we getting a feel of it. I like Little Harbor map better, but we just can't get the numbers. I'ts close to how windward's is. Islands and such make for a more interesting fight.

We did get two more on our side now that I think about it. Harr Barr or something and Ash from our clan showed up middle battle. Prob help on swinging the numbers. Though these closer number port battles are way more fun than the lop sided ones. Actualy think now ya'l got one more too. Really wish some one has the screen shot of the end. There was so many capped and counter capped boats too so it was hard to remember the final numbers of who was sanked/capped on both side.

I think what they mean you won't need the flag to go into those ports. As it use to be the way to do green on green. I'm not really feeling the pirate nation thing. I would love it to be Privateers that work for other nations and than you he the Outlaws that pretty much any one can attack and kill. While a privateer you work for that one natoiin and can use there ports. Though really none of this matters until we get to that point, which I'm hoping is soon and not like 6-9 months down the road. -

Like I said lets wait. I kinda get the concept cause of SC, but this game is no where close to SC, but it's still a ship that is all ready in the game and I can see how they could do this in the future. I would prefer them to work on getting the current content worked out and the game mechanics needed to get further along. More ships can all ways be added later on. Though thanks for explaining it better. And I have no problem for cosmetic stuff like paints and skins being bought, but anything like that should have an in game optoin to get it for those that don't want to pay real money for. -
Cap Franc Line Ship Port Battle - 14 Pirates vs 19 British/US I kinda rushed out and forgot to do the end results screen shot. Can some one that might have it post it up. I know we lost like 4-5 and the US/Brits lost a good number too, if not more than use as we had more than them at the end of the fight. They where able to keep control after a lot of fighting more one cap circle and reach 1000 points, but the clock was close to running out too. If any one got the end screen shot let me know and I can extend on this, but I'm a bit tired to remember every thing. It truly was a good fight and I think if we didn't make a few mistakes during it we might of keep one extra cap circle and maybe got the port, but there is all ways next time.

Sorry sounds more like they are running out of money from the sales of the game and need more income cause it's taking longer to developed than they thought. Kick-start should of been back when they did the papal purchase of the game. I still don't get why we need to pay more for a ship that should of been modeled correctly or updated later in game. If this turns into a very much expected P2W type crap or prem ships than I'm prob going to just let this game die off. Don't want another game like world of tanks and if it leads to that it will be more of an arena style game then an OW sandbox. I get having some content/DLC later to buy that is extension to the game, but right now before game is even released we pretty much getting told we need to spend more money on the game? It's not like this game is promising anything like say SC that had promised teirs of content for each level that was reached. I'll just wait and see later exactly what this kick-start thing is about. -

Thanks for the update, I think one of the biggest problem with the giving out info is that there was either to much given that folks expected or more recently way to little the the means it was given. Kickstarter for making a ship that is all ready in game? I'm sorry not catching this. Why do we need to pay more money to get a ship stats corrected to be more in line with that of what other ships are. Isn't this what the money we pay for the game is suppose to go towards? Glad to hear pirate mechanics will b in the future, but still think we should be more like privateers to work for other nations (this will help little nations out) and than you will have the Outlaws (true pirates). -
So far all I found out is it was 20+ Brits vs 12 pirates. So don't have a screen yet to get the break down.

NA is growing again?

I know a lot of folks that are waiting for the next patch cause of the ship wipes and others just waiting for the final wipe. I think it's going to go up and down until release so saying it won't grow back is a little off. Bet you when the ship patch happens we might have some care bears rage and leave, but I bet you a lot more will pop back in than leave. Just to check it out. And a lot of players aren't playing right now cause they keep pushing in favor of the PvE guys and taking away PvP content or restricting it. -
Did any one get a screen of that port battle so we can make a post. I didn't get on until after the PB cause of real life and no one on right now has a screen.

Tripple alliance isn't over, there is sitill the two largest nations not fighting each other. Until that alliance is broken nothing changed. I'm going to bet next vote cycle it's going to be back cause folks are going to freak cause the Danes are back and of course they still think there is 100 pirates hiding in the dark shadows waiting to zerg the map.

I don't mind the two circle thing, but the freaking AI fleets need to be adjusted big time. Put more traders out there with a few frigate escorts. Right now the SOL and frigates out number any solo trade ships and they had never out number any merchant fleet at any time. And I think some of the fort/towers should only be right in front of a port not all over the place. We been having issues with cowardly US players getting tagged out side Sandy Point out numbering us and they still run to the fort instead of fighting. Than again these are the same folks that just surrender instead of figthing so we get no agro since they haven't been damaged. Right now there is something wrong with the over inflated econe where folks just surrender ships over and over. That and they are dumping cargo before they get tagged so it won't get captured even if there is a chance they can escape. This is getting old along with the Three largest nation care bear allaince. No one fights any one other than when we stir the pot on the OW or the Swedes. So the three largest players are scared of a pirate clan of about 15-20 guys (more like 5-10 average night) and a couple of swedes lol

Steam has a few good walk through but they are a little out dated. On youtube check out Olavdeng2 and Jehil's videos. They helped me a lot when I first started getting more into the game. Take your time with the basic cutter as you gain your first level. It's free along with any crew you lost so you can sink it as many times as you end up. The AI changed a lot when I started I could swear I prob sunk about 20 times back than before I got my first good mission. It's not like that any more but still a tuff learning curve early on.

Than they need to nerf British refit and it's reload and the French refit. I don't think Spanish is as strong as the others. Why are you so freaking worried about speed? Does every one run from you and you can't catch them? Oh wait never mind yah they do. The problem is that speed fit guy is worth crap in a brawl. Just get some good sail hits to slow him down and than you melt his pretty little cedar ship before he can do anything. We see it all the time in fights. Folks bring cedar speed fit ships and learn you can't brawl Than they learn why we don't repair sails cause your shooting at them. It's cause we are leaking your ship and stripping your armor. I really think the dang nats use the Pirate refit more than the pirates cause all I see most the time is the stern of there ships as they run away even when they out number us. And remember if you cut up wind that pirate refit main sail force bonus doesn't mean crap.

It really needs to be done soon to test the proper econ and such of things. That would actually be a good time to do it and let them work on pirate mechanics as they tweek things from a nice fresh start. It's not like it's hard for us to get things back as most of us are all level 50 crafter and rank 10. Don't need to take BP's away, just all the resources folks have stocked up. I know a lot will rage cause they think we aren't in an Alpha test stage, but they need to do it before they move to a Beta Stage where we are just fine tunning things.
