  2. Since you posted the Screen I'll do the post off it. Castries Lineship Port Battle - 23 Pirates (24 at last moment) vs 25 Dutch/Us (17 Dutch/8 Us). The brits brought a fleet to screen and I heard it was over 10 ships per count and I'm not sure how many US/Dutch didn't make it in as we did have a count of around 10 ships for the US. We had a group of Danes and French show up for screening to help us. We had good wind and as soon as the port battle started we capped A and than split our grouped for about 5 going one way "C" and the rest to "B" as we saw the forces split close to that on the other side. We captured three points and there was some broad sides exchanged near the end but all three circles where capped out to 1K points and the Pirates where able to hold the port. Wind was in our favor, but than we didn't pick the port battle time so that was on the Dutch of when they flipped the port and they could of came into the battle from different points to get better wind. I want to say thanks to the none BLACK pirates that showed up for the defense and to Storm Crow and Steel Rat that popped in at the last moment to just do the port battle even though they don't play any more. WE have no clue who TurgidOne is as we never seen him before. Though we suspect he's prob one of the PvP1 French players or former brit player. And a reminder to Axl CHANGE YOUR CRAFTING PERKS NEXT TIME. Duncan was board fit and forgot to reset his officer for boarding too. So don't fell bad. We got into a habit to tell every one to check your officers before you exit for battles. I'm not sure what the prime top number was but we hit over 170 during the port battle time when you rarely see it over 100 any more during our prime time. I think this would get better if we could fight more in our prime time. Though nice to see that many online.
  3. Which I don't get cause some times I had full new units shattered with little to no damage on them cause of one volly into them. I think some times they freak out way to much on my side compared to the AI side. Though I did find out the other day that if one gets captured you can captured them back. I had a good skirm unit surrender to a much larger group. Well when my own inf got to that group they where right there. I flipped them back to my side and both he skirms and new inf unit rout the whole unit. SO that was a win over on my side.
  4. LOL i was in a private group PM between some players and I just got "Hello Kitty" for something I said. That made me crack up a bit cause I normally try not to cuss but since it was a private PM I let it slipped. Yah they should do a few others but to surprise us.
  5. I wouldn't say it's DEAD just yet but it's on it's way and PvP1 is following suit too. The funny thing is I just looked at the numbers 56 players on right now. I'm going to bet just 10 of those are pirates and alts. We logged out and did counts and watched the numbers change big time. I think folks don't truly now how many are on either servers cause of alt accounts inflating those numbers. As for the lock out times I been told by INK it's a known problem and they are working on a solution. My issue is it's been a problem since late Oct when the patch came out, how long does it take to come up with a solution for the US prime time port battle lock out? I'm going to bet it's, while not the main reason, but one of many reasons they are loosing players. It's not just US that play that time zone. You have Cnadians and any one central and south america that share it and some of those people might want to play on the EU server cause they might speak a language that is more in common with an EU player. So they might want to play on the EU server over the US.
  6. Let me correct this a little. A few french players have been helping us on PvP2 during the SEA/AUS port battle times (about 4-5 of them). Since we where really thank for for this help we where asked if we could return the favor during US prime times since the only port battles we get these days are those against Pirates since no one in the three largest nations (Brit/US/Dutch) fight each other since they have a carebear alliance and well some of the old timers are still bitter from us taking US to 11 ports and Brits to 1 (all right after they had brought the pirates down to one port). So a few of us made french chars. Since the only port battles at the moment was Danes I keep trying to contact them that I was willing to help with about 3 more guys, we just need ships since we re-rolled and don't play on this server. I was pretty much blown off and told that they aren't defending any night flips but we could do what we want. Well since we are down to three regions on PvP and thinking of doing a change until US/Brits get board of trying to kill us and do something we figure we could come over in a bigger force. Since a few players have Spanish alts all ready and are stable we decided that we will have our clan members all roll Spanish chars. This way we can still help the French out cause they have an alliance. The french did mention they had ships ready for us so they where trying to help. Wanted to correct that part. We are looking to bring about 5-10 every experienced players. We might even get more but it's really going to depend on some of our SEA/AUS players and the ping. That and we have some die hard pirates that refuse to play any national. So yes there are players that are willing to come over and help. They just need to not be blown off. And once again guys like this is why they can't get help from any US/AUS/SEA players. I am currently unemployed cause of being laid off from offshore oilfield. So I'm on a lot and can play when I want to until I find a job. Even than I tend to work night ships and very odd hours. When I was working offshore it was mainly international. I done a lot of work in Africa, UK, Australia, Singapore etc. So if I want to play on a EU server or US based server cause of my ping I will. I have an account on all three of the WoT servers cause I play on the SEA when I'm in Singapore/Malaysia or Australia for work. I play on the EU server when I'm in Africa or UK/Norway. Since I normally get a day or two off between jobs waiting on flights home. xen·o·pho·bi·a ˌzenəˈfōbēə,ˌzēnəˈfōbēə/ noun intense or irrational dislike or fear of people from other countries. You want to know something I see a lot of from EU players. There hatred of other countries that aren't there own or part of EU. While I know a lot of players aren't like that, but many of ya'll have shown that very thing in this thread. This game is a worldwide server game that has two servers located in two places to give the best ping for players that want to play them. The location is US and EU to help players get the best ping. That doesn't mean you have to play that nation. I played SPAIN on POTBS cause it was a low pop nation on the AUS and than Roberts servers. I have no problem playing other nations. Though I won't switch on PvP2 on my main char cause he has pretty much every BP except the H Rattler and P Frig now. Why would I roll some one like that to an new nation? I started on PvP1, but when it split to the mirror I switched over to PvP2 as a US nation player. Since I had the US there I flipped my US to Pirate. SInce than I have flipped him back and well now french and than Spanish cause I don't have any ties of special things to him. I can get the basic BP's back pretty fast if I want to and being level 50 crafter (I have two level 50 chars by the way so I would bring that to your nation) I can do any of the mods and have full use of labor hours. Every one in my clan is pretty much level 50 crafters. So that 5-10 players ya'll aren't going to get now, would of be 5-10+ level 50 crafters too. From the few PB I been in and most of the OW fights I seen you guys could also use some true hard core PvPers cause hate to say it.....ya'll sucked in the fights I seen and videos I watched. Not every one, but a good majority of the guys do. So being rude and not wanting help means your not only loosing the chance to fill those time slots with other players your loosing the chance to get experienced players that have fought nations way out number and beat them and that can train new players to be added to your team.
  7. If anything the Pacific coast could be brought back for the PvE guys and leave them over there for what they want to do. They can't trade back and forth, but they can do safe play on that side, but if they want to come over to the PvP side they can make out post from the capital and share. Gives them some where to safely grind up, but the econ between the sides can't be shared.
  8. I have over 3.5K hours in game with one char and 1.8K with another. I would have been rited many times over with that system lol. If the game had a time base to it than the concept would make since to maybe have, but sine there is no time in game than it's hard to implement. We are more like a concept of a learder not the actual char in the game. Fleet commanders can come and go but we are in charge of that fleet. Many of us would love a ship log that is tied into game though. So you know how many battles that ship has been in, who has owned it or sailed it and such.
  9. I also liked the concept if Captain perks where locked to your ships not your char. So that as you rank up your actually a fleet commander and you get more and more and bigger ships under your command and are not the actual captain of each ship. The perks you earn for the ship shows how well the officers and crew of that ship grow and get experience. A fresh ship pretty much has a green officer and crew. If you sale or trade the ship the perks reset themselves for the new owner. You can than make the crafting perks and some econ stuff based on your player account as he's the one doing all the willing and dealings back in port of his fleet. Maybe have each player pick a home port and while that port gets the perks for the crafting stuff that you have earned as you rank up in your nation. I think it needs to be keep more simple than your system cause of the type of game and well size of the Dev team working on it. You got a great concept, but I think it's just to much detail for this game to implement at this time or anytime soon.
  10. Lets get one game done and released before we start to think about working on any extensions packs for the game. Just like I don't know why folks where even talking about a NA 2 when this game isn't even finished and released. Right now the map is almost to big for any of the server pops we seen other than at the peek most highest.
  11. It should be Privateers not Pirates and you have an option to (prob clan base vote) to be a privateer to one nation or another. You can only use that nations ports while your working for them. Other wise the only ports you get are free ports and maybe Kidds/Mort. I think Kidds should be the pirates(outlaws and Privateers) home base/capital to be honest. Than make Mort a free zone (privateer capital). kinda like how Pitt's was a neutral port no one can capture but every one can use it (except pirates). Though this time make it so every one can use it. This will give the game one central big trade hub. Any one can use the ports of the region so no one nation is ever pushed to only one region. They have there capital and Mort's region to use. While no crafting perks, it does give them other things like the common materials to build. While you are a privateer for that nation you can earn reputation to allow you to actually become a member of that nation over time. So many kills of that nations enemy's. This will allow an in game means to return to being a National or change nations. Since the privateer can work for one nation that allows them to fill small nation port battles and help them out. Remember they can only join the nation they have contract with port battles, not any of that nations alliances so they are only to fill those slots (again to help small nations). Outlaws (true pirates) are privateers and national that renounce any nations. If you are a national and want to become a privateer to work for another nation you must first renounce your nation and become an Outlaw/Pirate. Than say the set voting time you can than become a privateer for said nations (this is the way you can switch nations as after a set time/rep earned you can join that nation). If you want no ties to any nation you just stay an outlaw. While out law any one can attack you and you can attack any one including other outlaws. If you let your contract with a nation go and stop being a privateer for that nation you revert back to being an Outlaw/Pirate. Outlaws/Pirates only get a raid system and can not capture regions, only ports for a short set time. Raids should be like the old flag system with a slight rule adjustment and the ports are only lost for 3-5 days before they revert back to the owner. While the port is raided Outlaws/Pirates can use that regions crafting perk for any ships they craft there. While a region is in raid status all hostility created is increased. So to make it more easly to flip or even grind down that region that some one is attacking. This is pretty much saying that zone is a hot spot for PvP to encourage it in the national side. If a region is successful defended from a than no other ports in that region can be raided until the set cool down. Prob a good 7 days would work best. This way multi ports can't be raided on one region. While a port is raided all production is stopped until the port returns back to the owner of the region. I think the smuggler flag should be keeped around as it will still allow any one to enter other ports in a trader, but I think some one with a smuggler if tagged should be treated like a outlaw/pirate while they have the flag on. Thus being able to be attacked by any one. If they attack some one while the flag is on them they are turned into an Outlaw/Pirate and must go through the steps to return to being a national through being a privateer. To keep from accidents and such maybe make this a reputation system where you have to attack more than one ship while smuggler flag is one before you are turned into one. Cause there was some shaddy folks out there that prob attacked a ship here and there but wasn't every true pirates. Maybe make it so that only attacking a player makes you auto Outlaw/Pirate but NPC's you can get away with it for a few ships, but after a while your status gets known and you become an enemy of your nation. Yah something like this would be way better than just another semi-national Pirate Republic thing.

  13. First off this isn't Eve and we don't have in game police yet....lol Your not getting what I'm saying. It can be abused cause a pirate can attack any pirate including clan mates. So they can abuse this. They can pull you into a fight to stop you from tagging some one else or being tagged. This was the whole reason that it was taken away. Pirates would tag each other to get out of fights. So Clan mates should not in this game be able to tag each other cause than I can tag you to keep us out of a fight with say the Brits. So unless they put a restriction on this we will be right back to square one of why it was taken away in the first place. Other than abusing it for getting xp or something. The other thing is I only got to test one fight going up to, but couldn't enter after the fight started between two other pirates.

Char name: Sir Texas Sir Trinc vs AI Trader I captured the ship and it list it under my fleet, but it was still red named and I could just continue to board it over and over even though battle was listed over. I left battle and ship was there, but seems I couldn't make it retreat either in the fight. Same ship was trying to join another Pirate vs Pirate says closed as same faction battle. Thought they are suppose to stay open. I do like you fleets aren't brought into the fight so it's like the newbie ROE so it's truely going to be player vs players in here. Clan mates can attack each other as me and Anne Wildcat was able to get into a fight. This kinda cool so you can brawl without doing duels or if you have in clan grievance with one another, but I can see this being big time abused too. Should be restricted to not be able to attack your fellow clan mates. While in these fights I have noticed and saw one Fort sink a Tower. So they fire upon each other.

  18. We kinda noticed this before the hotfix but havne't had free time to test it out. Was wondering is there any restriction like you can't attack your own clan mates? Other wise I can all ready see my clan doing an all out clan vs clan mates brawl on bored nights.....lol Can you add a decent cutter, Snow, and Essex to the redeemable? It makes it hard to test out these new PvE missions too when you can't find any of these ships in the shop or they are crappy fir ships that get flat out melted. Plus I been F11 them but the BR match up is way wrong for these missions and that is prob the two reasons we aren't seeing any one even scoring on them. I seen one person on one of them so far and that is it.
  19. I would honestly give up on him. Every post I read seems he wants every thing easy and just handed to him. He needs to go play some other game and just give up on this one. Cause apparently this game is not what /HE/ wants. Though I agree with the means to get PvP. The first week after patch came out we screened Spain ports when US was trying to do easy region flips. We captured 17 first rates that week without a lost of any of our ships above a 4th rate. All we would do is wait until the port battles and come hang out some where between that port and the newest freeport we knew they would come for. Most the time we would be out number and than half the other side would just escape so they can get to the port battle. Leaving be hind several SOL's that where to slow to our mercy that now have became the out numbered ones. Never seen so many folks just dump there SOL's cause they want to rush to an empty port battle (Spain had like 1-2 active players than and still now). We still do this for the smaller nations and we get plenty of PvP from it even on PvP2 which is very small population. Hell the last few port battles we have done we haven't even been going to the show and just wait until they come out to capture a bunch of ships and take there booty (ship/paint chest and ships). Who needs a port battle when you get more kills on the OW?
  20. When your at war with some one you can't join there fights no matter who they are fighting. If your neutral with either nation you can pick which one you want to join. Though we did bring up a good point the other night what happens if you flip a port and than the votes go in and you now have an alliance with that nation or some one has an alliance with both nations at war. How does the game handle this. Is that Alliance nation just locked out of the port battle (I would assume this most likely). Jehil brought up a post that you shouldn't be able to flip a port unless your at war with some one. This will make it so you can't just flip any one. Cause to me that would be an act of war for any nation. It would give reason for folks to break alliances early. I'll use pirates as an example, since we can't have alliances but we can vote for war with nations. That nation we are currently at war with we can't join there OW battles. Now any other nations we come up to we can pick the side we want to join for the most part. This is mainly Hostility missions and Rookie ROE are that we can do this since all other battles are pretty much locked out. I haven't tested the signal flag yet, but I think we can pick sides on those too. On the old system where battles have stayed open we have done this. Picked a side and joined them to attack the other side. I believe we have been able to do this in the PvP event so I do think the signal flag gives us that option to join the smaller side. As long as we aren't at war with them.
  21. exactly and throw in a sudden grape and crew shock and it's all over. Now if we can only get AI to do this. I been noticing it doesn't follow the same rules and can some times take over a min to sink. Than again I think this is part of another topic where it seems the AI ships have all the mods in game.
  22. Yah you know exactly how much player has left before they are truelly finished off. We seen a lot of guys save there repair for when armor is stripped down on won side and should be sinking to suddenly repair and run cause we got in a habit of letting them go thinking they are going to just sink. I lived through a few port battles just cause I turned every thing off and just sat there with crew all in survival. Now you can't do that cause they will see exactly how much you have left. I like the new system though think a few tweeks are needed still.
  23. Where they just recently added to the clan? I seen it only happen when this happens or some one is deleting changing nations or something. It some times takes the game a few mins to update things.
  24. Ok after much talking with my clan mates we have decided to pick a different nation from the french. I will no longer be known on PvP2 as "Monsieur Texas Monsieur" instead I will be known as "Senor Tejas" We have not picked a clan name, but expect to see more of us on during the US prime times to help out.

Some one didn't read this which is posted on the page before you can even buy the game. http://store.steampowered.com/earlyaccessfaq/ There will prob be a tutorial later on when the game is closer to release. As stated above the players have some great walk through and even on steam there are some guides that are a bit out dated cause the game changes a lot right now. Many of the players in game will help you if you just ask too.
