  1. I actually got a few bottles I need to pick up but I only do it when I pass that are. Your pretty much spot on they are worth getting traders. And for a guy that seems to hate PvE so much, isn't collecting bottle exactly that? Sounds like you just want the old big rewards for little to no work. Though honestly it's sad a bottle from a wrecked war ship gives you more goods than a trader hauling goods. Hell I be happy if the traders at least had close to the same cargo as the bottles do compared to what they have on testbed right now.
  2. Yacht needs to stay special for any one that was pre-EA. Though I would be happy with maybe a paint or two. Specially if they still give us the 4 ships after wipe to get up and going. I really hope every one gets enough gold to man the guns on this ships even if it's just mediums too. With a small starter kit of the repairs. Other wise when it goes live your going to have a lot of pissed off players. Though like I said maybe paints for one or two of the start redeemable ships so folks know that first week which players took the time to do testbed work to help get the patch to live.
  3. Or try to get the game changed to your play style. There is tons of players out there, most of us and that means the forum poster are a very small percentage of the actually players of the game. We might be some of the most vocal percentage, but we are very much a small percentage on any game for the most part the folks that get on the forums tend to be about 10% of a game. Now back to topic on hand. While I really haven't seen much change in the straight to OW after battle thing, but kinda wish there was a way to repair your AI ships in battle even if it's at the end before going OW. I have to quickly click on the repair button and do it while getting my ship up and going. With that I noticed the last couple of times I repaired in OW it doesn't give you a slider any more. It's bang repair all that you can up to what you have or nothing. So if I know I'm about to get into another fight maybe I only want to repair my fleets partly and not fully or even the same with my ship I just want to get enough repair so I'm not hurt so bad instead of burning all my repairs on one full repair. That will allow me to have the repair in reserve for a fight on the sail back home.

There isn't exactly a billion players on the server and just about every game i been on that has both PvE and PvP content limited you before you even saw the PvP content or gave you time to learn off the PvE content before it threw you into the fire. Unless your talking about battle arena games than even some of the have a tutorial. Now remember folks upon release we will prob have a tutorial for the new players, lets hope so. He's got a point you keep repeating your self and bringing nothing to the discussion. Your even doing what you just posted here. You are complaining and not discussing.
  5. you forgot the part about only 2.1 hours in the last two weeks....you even play? Or have even tried testbed server out? If you did you would know you can still teleport from Nation to Nation ports that you have out post in. The only telports that have currently been removed from the game on testbed are: Return to friendly at the Battle result screen. Which by the way the battle results screen is now gone so when you leave the battle/fight you go straight to the open world. Also removed was the Free Port TP to Free Port. The only way to go into a free port is to sail into it and than back out of it. You can still have out post there, but this removes the TP gank fest. Which actually is doing the opposite of what your saying we want it removed from. With it removed we can't just jump around and pop out and attack any one from a freeport. You have to do so from your own national OP. Thus meaning you have to fight from a front line that you and your clan picks. And the return to capital command has been changed to telport to deep water port (this can be any deep water port). So you can be brought back to a port closer to you if your stuck instead of across the map say if your fighting in Texas and your capital is in KPR but you have Texas as a National port you will go to what ever deep water port is closes to you so you can get back to Texas instead being slinged across the map. So instead now you have to actually sail your stuff from free port to freeport and you have to be in the OW instead of using a delivery system to move your stuff and never going into the ow. You can still telport to your ports and produce your goods, but now you have to actually move them from port to port. Just like you had to before, but you can't use free ports to deliver them half way across the map. Which means you need to have all your production prob in one area and not spread out all over the place. Thus you have your clan pick an area in the British regions owned and set up there trade in that area. You don't want to sail your goods and don't have time. Find a clan mate that does, or find some guy that loves to sail to ship it for you and pay him a little bit off the top. Or since your a level 50 crafter offer something in trade. I made ships at discount for folks that did trade runs from Mort/Atwood to Kidds for me so I wouldn't have to haul things there. And why do you have to sail all the way to Ruatan cause of the Mahogany? Chiriquí right next to Calebelo has the same resources. Why can't you set up your base around where your silver mines are? Or even better set your main crafting port between or in the middle of all your production ports? I mean other than maybe one or two major resources every thing tends to be close to each other. Those things that aren't you can collect until you get enough to fill a trade ship and than make a run full of the supplies. Remember you don't have to claim every thing in one day, it has three days to build up your resources production in a building. So those ones you have to travel for you plan to do them once or twice a week. Hell it would prob be a faster trip to sail the silver back to Rutan. I did this all the time from Castries to Kidds (over an hour and half sail). I would get coal there on the island and convert all my silver over to ingots to make it a lighter fuller load ad when I got enough to fill an Indiamen I sailed it all to Kidds, which has no free towns around it cause that is where I did all my ship crafting cause of the pirate refit was there. Also remember Refits resources can be gather and brought back to your Shipyard/Workshop location and be crafted on the new patch. So you don't have to craft in the port/region with the perk.

  6. We still kinda have no clue what the Trade Manifest are going to be used for if they haven't scrapped that all together. The thing I hate is the perk reset thing means you can't have a char that can easly do both. You have to have a dedicated crafter or a dedicated Combat char pretty much forcing folks to play one style or another instead of being a true sand box where you can change when needed easily. Or folks get alts they use just for crafting. Right now really there is this odd wall for a crafter that means once you hit around 35 you can craft any common thing in the game, but all the things above that takes special marks to get.
  7. I wouldn't want us to be OP, but there needs to be a trade off for not getting easy SOL/Aggy BP's and permits. Maybe give us the H Rattler if folks say we are suppose to be shallow water mainly. Than make us the master of the shallows. You can still get the BP's by trading as I think you sent me the link of your Swede (might have the nation wrong) char has all ready gotten the BP and crafted a Pirate Frigate. If it'a player crafted or store bought ship it should be capture able no matter if it's on the player or in the fleet. They just need to set the tag like it was before this patch. We had a lot of folks exploiting this the last time they made it where we couldn't capture AI ships in players fleets. Just imagine if that was an LVG full of loot last night that boarded and change the ships in that fight. I have seen traders do this with smaller ships though on AI side. I would of lost every thing on that LVG that I couldn't have fit on my war ship. As explained above I wanted to add, you need to be going under 2 knots to be able to get the x to exchange cargo. It's just like after a boarding and you capture a ship you get the x to add crew on, but now you get the option to capture or scuttle it and take the cargo if it's a player ships or just take the cargo if it's an NPC and scuttle it. If they are the same, than there shouldn't be a diffrence so any bought or crafted ship should be treated the same. Isn't that why they have the GREY AI/OW ships and the BLUE player built/shop ships any way?
  8. What I think is funny is he thinks I don't want TP, I have never posted anythhing like that for or against them. Well until he brought it up. I was very much against the return to friendly than thought about the times that I spent over 4-5 hours in gank fest battles over and over as I keep getting tagged by the same group after me and a buddy ( back when I was US) killed a Brit player. The end was the last time when his buddies gave up and it turned 1 vs 1 I turned and fought him and sunk him. Yah luckly it was a weekend and I had the free 4.5 hours. So yah I can see why one would want the chance to leave or log out. In fact i brough up asking to make sure we have 15 mins to go take breaks or what not before being forced into OW. Which reminds me I need to time that on Testbed I don't think it kicks you out auto. That and I want to check to see if you can log out and it just puts you on the OW when you log back in or it makes you show up and have to wait (even though your logged out). Something I can check with my alts on testbed (see they are handy). It seems by your post you just returned recently or something by some comments i seen so makes me wonder just how hardcore player you are? Other than by just looking at our post count on the furoms and join date I been playing since EA was dropped. I'll use the testbed names for the other two but those won't be there names in live. On live I run two pirates and a Dan. One deep water over all RvR char and my main crafter (Sir Texas Sir) who is Curse level along with a second pirate that I keep in shallow and is Curse level. Both are level 50 craftes. While my Dan is Flag Captain and level 50 crafter also. Sir Texas Sir: 4.4K hours is my main char I had from start. Big Texas: 1,9K hours (currently my crafter on testbed) Lil Texas: 2.8K hours (Shallow water char) So as you can see I have more hours on some of my chars than the majority of the players have on one solo char. As a pirate on PvP2 I been in pretty much 99% of every port battle we have been involved in. I Prob killed and captured more ships than I can even count on the open world. While I love PvP I also love trading and crafting and I'm a very average player when it comes to PvP/Combat. So I made chars to play more than one aspect of the game. This is not play to win cause you have the exact same options as I have, I just can do it three times more cause I paid three times more for the game. Believe me running three accounts and fighting with two of the (well even fought with the Dan recently before patch announcement) is not easy. Though three players can do the exact same thing if they where very organized and communicated well with each other. The only different is all three can be in fights at the same time. I could too, but that means I'm three time more distracted than they are. If two guys can't beat one guy playing one char than maybe those two guys need to go back and learn the game again and get better. I never saw you guys as carebears. Ya'll hit the floor running and ready to fight. Though a little cocky when ya'll showed up, but we set those guys straight pretty fast after some OW PvP, but ya'll keep coming back and we respected that. And no I won't give you a hug, I just woke up and haven't even had my coffee or shower yet, that would be like a grizzly bear giving you a hug and well that wouldn't be a pretty site. Back to the TP thing though. I think it's good we try it and see if it works. Remember Devs are pushing the PvP game to be a more hard core sand box. In the past a lot of there choices where made to make life easier for a lot of players and in my view it hurt the game and ran off a lot of the core players. Now I don't agree with every thing they are changing and I'll post my views up and tell them when I find those things, but I'm also on testbed almost daily now and trying to get all the bugs found and help this patch get ready for live server and learning every thing about it so that when it gets dropped I can hit the game running with my clan mates and have things up and going as fast as possible.

  9. Follow these steps below and when you want to switch back to the live server go back to the beta section and click opt out of beta and you will download the live version again. Each time you have to switch back and forth but the game file is pretty small. Oh and If I seemed a little snappy with those last post guys sorry I was half dead tired and should of been in bed when I made them.

  10. It doesn't work that way. TP's actually help us more cause we can jump around. The same amount of jumping around you can do too. Three copies of the game is no difference than three players. Actually they should be able to out fight me since it's three folks and not one person playing two or three chars at once. If you can't do that than maybe it's your gaming skills that are lacking. Maybe the three players need to get more organized in there clan if they are being beat by one guy playing 2-3 chars? I don't think you understand the use of the word Carebear....I didn't call any one a carebear cause of how many chars they have so don't put words in my mouth. In fact a lot of the carebears are guys that have multi accounts on the game. Care Bear 1. Lightly derogatory term for an MMO player who avoids PVP combat, heavily preferring cooperative or solo PVE combat, chatting, or developing tradeskills/running quests. Depending on the game and the individual, this PVP avoidance can show up in several ways: by playing on strict non-PVP servers; by avoiding PVP areas or declining duels; or, by avoiding or condemning PVP players. Philosophically, they often cite unbalanced combat systems, overpowered guilds, ebayed characters, and ganking as reasons to prefer less aggressive play. The mindset can be self-sustaining in several ways: high-level "care bears" may have avatars that are tailored for PVE, not PVP; they may not network with skilled PVP players; or, they may morally refuse to learn aggressive PVP tactics. Sounds like some one is more butt-hurt cause they can no longer hide and avoid fights/PvP. I hear there is a nice PvE server for that and a cool arena game for those that don't want to PvP in the OW will be coming out latter on. Speaking of the patch have you even been on testbed server? I'm going to bet most of the folks that are giving negative feed back about the new patch haven't even been on testbed to test it. They are just going off what they think it is. If you haven't than I invite you to come test it out.

  11. There is an odd bug and I forgot to F11 it that you can only have three ships in port for crafting count. If you have three it says your docks are full and you can't craft a ship until you move that ship out of that port. I haven't messed with enough ships since patch but man every thing does seem like it's slowed down big time, but I haven't ran anything with like copper plating and such.

Yah most of us have two pirates - as in most of us have more than one char in game? a few dual boxing - any one that has been around gaming or computers for some time knows this is a term that means playing more than one char. On older computers systems you had to use two computers, hint the term DUAL BOXING. a few Mort Rats - Mort Rats is short for Pirates that hang around Mortimer Town. They tend to only hang around the Pirate capital and don't really adventure out. It's kinda a derogatory term for those pirates. Kinda like when we call folks Carebears when they only PvE on a PvP server. all the PvE grind you had to do with things. ???? Don't get what you don't understand? PvE=Player vs Environment? Again a term that gamers should know that have been around MMO's Devs use this term along with PvP=Players vs Players. Both very much gamer terms that have been used for a very long time. On note when we got a new member that use to be a National...you have to read the rest of the sentence we where Zerging the map again...If your confused what Zerging the map means. It's taking over the map in a fast action where they can't stop you. I think the merger is going to be interesting ??? only spot I used short hand it seems. So no more one nation just taking all the dots ???? Dots on the map as in ports/regions they control. Some folks think they must own every port or as many as they can no matter what. A good bit of that would be understood if you read the full thing instead of just pulling bits and pieces out of it and it was also something I was talking to another player about one a server we both played together on. PvP2. I'm sorry this isn't school and I'm going to talk how I feel like it using gamer terms if need be and I'm not an English major writing a term paper. I'm an Oldfield Hydraulic Mechanic and former Navy. So that is how I talk and type. But feel free to ask if you ever see something you don't understand cause I know many of us aren't native speakers of one language or another and well not all of us have been involved with video games and gaming. Also remember not ever one post from a computer. I get on here some times form my phone so short handed messages are easy to type when your restricted by the means that they are able to get on the message board.

  14. Three steam accounts with three copies of the game and than I use sandboxie so I can run all three steams at once on the same computer.
  15. I had almost 100 PvE marks before that battle realy and just got back to port and was doing some stuff AFK and came back. Was going to turn them in for stuff in the Pirats Den and noticed they are all gone. POOF have't spent them on anything. Did an F11 has any one else had any of the marks just disappear on them. Thought I heard some one else compling in game of them disappearing. Edit: I logged out and back in and it came back.
  16. Also I have built three ships so far. A Surprise, Trinc and now the Indefatigable below. I noticed that it seems we aren't getting the same armor thickness for wood types. Seems like it's percentage base instead of a flat number? Is this a change in the game or is it a bug? Oh and if you notice that black square that is my bugged out basic cutter that is on "Big Texas" the char I'm using for all my crafting on testbed. I can move it between players in trade, but I can't select it and do anything to it like sale or destroy to remove it. Been like that for a week now and I have F11 on both my main and this char.
  17. Ok on my main account I was in an Indefatigable with a Connie (store bought) in my fleet. I hit a AI fleet with 2 bell poule, 1 Essex, 1 Snow, 1 Lynx, figure should be a good easy fight. I in in the middle of brawling with the Bell Poule and Essex when suddenly I see my connie gets into a board with the other Bell Poule. Well he has plenty of crew should be ok. Well the other ships where beating pretty hard on his stern so he prob lost more than he should or just from the boarding he was down to 270 crew. He captured the Bell Poule and took command. Crap. Well I finish the fight sinking the rest of the ships. Went back to recap my Connie "can't capture NPC ships." Well crap maybe it will revert back when I leave the battle. Did my F11 report and let the Bell Poule Retreat. Get to OW. No fleet so I didn't get either ships. This is why no capture of AI ships suck, I just lost a full Shop bought connie cause of this. It was the same problem we had in the past when we couldn't capture player AI ships or NPC AI ships the last time we went through this. So basicly if my AI decdies to capture a ship I loose both ships if he takes command of the other ship. This is stupid and now I'm out of my only 4th rate until I build one. Oh and all the guns that was on her as I was moving her to another port so I could use her at that port later. Glad this was on testbed cause I know if it was live folks would be pissed. So yah if you have an AI fleet watch out if it boards any ships and takes commands cause you will loose both ships.
  18. As old as this is they prob part of the groups that went off to PvP1 cause I don't know either of those names and I been a pirate for a good while on PvP2. Maybe they are still around and we will see them on Global and maybe they will return if not still active. Either way you necro a post that is almost a year and half old.

  20. I think the cutters glitched. I have one on my main that is blacked out and I can trade it, but I can't click on it and do anything with it other wise. F11 it as it's takeing up a ship slot.

  22. Devs all ready shot that down cause they said there will be no captures of AI ships period so drop it....just wondering what there reason for the restriction is. And no Pirate vs Pirate is not a perk....
  23. @admin Is there going to be any perks pirates get? It looks like your going to effectively take us out of the RvR game other than shallow waters or we will just have to use alts to get Blue Prints and Permits of the SOL and Aggy? I mean 1 ship vs 8 ships for the other 7 nations? We all ready have a bunch of restrictions as is and now we are restricted even more with no special perks to make us pirate like or special. Hell even the figure head that was only on the pirates is now on all nations (with all nations getting the same pics) That kinda of could of been one extra perk of being a pirate, but right now there isn't much perk over playing anything else. Just a bunch of restrictions. If ya'l have something plan that would be cool but as long as we are treated as a nation we should be getting the same things the other nations have in our shops. Though a few other ships refitted to be special for pirates would be cool if your going to limit us to 4th rates and below crafting that is.

But but but didn't you know we had pirate hacks this whole time....uh no we just knew the freaking rules and mechanics of the game, cause folks like me that whore up the forums and test/break every thing we try to put our hands on. I call myself an average player, not very great at the 1 vs 1 if against a good player. Though I do well in teams. It's just that when you have a few guys that get a long working well with each other can go a long way. I'm really waiting to see the pure chaos of the first weeks or month after the wipe/merger.

  25. 1) I have 6lbr Meds on my basic cutter, so what are you taling about? Sure your trying to put the right cannons on it. That is class not lbrs of the cannons. SO it's only the 4 and 6 lbr cannons and 12 lbr Carros. 2) They had the P. Frigate for them, not clue what they are for and would like to know too what they plan for them. Maybe for bigger trader ships? 3) They said they didn't get all the ships on the crafting yet since it's not done, we only have part of it since they are still working on it. Expect the BP's when they get the rest of the ship crafting finished. We still don't even have refits in testbed yet for the crafting.
