Yah that is why I think no longer than 5 mins. OW timer is not the same as battle time. Any thing more than that is like a day or two travel pretty much and they wouldn't make it to the fight.
-
Yah I don't think they should be open a long time. 5 mins at max will allow any one close to come join. Though they shouldn't join in the middle of the fight, should always be a bit off in the distance. That way you can lead the fight back to your support or run further away from the other guys support. To me any time longer like a 10-15 min window means they where a good distance away and would never make the fight any way if it was like the RL. They might show up to catch the escaping ship but not for the fight it self.
-
From the fights I been in I think 15 mins maybe bump up? Even 12 mins would work as it means a full 10 mins between each repair. Though I think the thing is if some one burns them all up than they won't have them for next fight if you retag them. That and if you have more than one in the fight you can get them to brun a lot of them. Though I really only see issues if the person repairs builds there skills and it seems light ships repair a larger percentage than it does on Frigates and above.

Good points. I just remember sitting out side of Port Antonio with 7grams after we took it from the Brits. We caught a lot of 1st rates and SOL after the battle of folks leaving that we didn't sink in the fight. We had them counted of all that escaped. Than a few of stayed. In 13 hours we caught 3-4 more that had logged off after the battle and tried to leave the port. I think in that time it was a good hunt. Not every one is dedicated to do something like that sit on a Saturday in front of a port waiting for folks to log back in, but we did it. I think that was pretty much teh down fall of the Brit nation cause we just keep rolling them in every fight after that even though we where out numbered. Now they can't hide they either have to come out after the fight or be forced out. Like I said give me 15 mins to take a break and I"m cool with this. Though I do think you should be able to log out in the battle, but when you log back in you should be in the OW. So you can't hide, your right there. We had way to many folks on that server that where nothing more than PvE players that would hide all the time. I like this cause it's going to make them stay in an area and actually fight for what they have. No owning the whole map that they can't protect and no jumping to have 30+ at a port battle when you never see them in the OW defending there ports or PvPing. Over all I like most things of this patch. OH AND THANKS FOR FIXING THE 16 barrels at a time slider. I can make 360 of them at one pop. I think the other items like that got fixed too.

Well don't be hunting right in front of the capital or a major trade hub.

What do yo mean trading in ports is not available? I have not found a port I couldn't trade with some one in. How are you moving said cargo around? Just like the stupid option to dump cargo. Your cargo is in you hold and is not going to be easy to move from one ship to another. Just be glad they are letter us do so in game. You want to switch crago around your ships order it to stop and take command and than move the cargo from one ship to the other instead of crew or what not. If we have 15 mins until your kicked out that should be plenty time for you to move something around if you need or what not. If it's anything like right now both sides can enter the port after the port battle up till the server resets. Maybe have option they can leave once after that with the ship instead of being trapped in port after the reset. If you don't want to get tagged just port in for the defenders. Most of the time you can make it to the port by the no tag timer running out and than the tag timer counting down even if your an attacker. Though honestly none of us have a clue how they are changing Hostiltity and port battles as that hasn't even been scratched on this patch yet. We still don't even have all the ship crafting stuff done and in testbed. I assume that part will be next they work on before they are done.

are you can do like the dutch did for the most part on PvP2. Take an area and protect that area. It was only a few of ya'll that showed up at the GB/US fights. That allaince was spread way to far out for it's own good. Specially US. If you can't protect your zones than you don't need them. Though I can see some of the larger nations have Clans that take oen region area and protect it as there home base. That reminds me one of my chars still needs to take the sail out to Kidds on testbed. Just in case they change something.

Folks just could't get it when I said we are only 15-20 players we meant it. Yah most of us have two pirates so we could be in two places at once and it seemed like we had over 30 players in our clan, but most of those battles it was 10-15 guys with a few dual boxing and a few Mort Rats filling the rest of the port battle. It burned many of us out and we lost some memebers too, but a lot of that was cause of stupid PvE favor rules that they keep coming out with and all the PvE grind you had to do with things. On note when we got a new member that use to be a National, it was funny when they saw how we actually worked from the inside and they where blown away that it was truely 15-20 guys. After the first of the year it become more like 10-15 guys. Hell even our TS was limited to only 35 players until the night we took Little Harbour a few months back. We had to up it cause we had a new small clan with us and had over 37 players in our team speak that night. The other thing is you get folks reason to play and come back. We did that with the operations we keep doing and we went as far as to even anounce them on the forums so folks woudn't think we where Zerging the map again. The key is a well organized group even small is going to win almost every time over a group that has no organization (and fighting over who is leading) over and over. I think the merg is going to be interesting. Some new blood on both sides and hopefully folks will help each other to make there nations stronger. There was no reason on PvP2 that any one was able to beat US or even GB like we did with the actual number of players they had. Love the new systems in testbed cause that means if you get to spread out and can't protect all your regions it makes it easy for the small nations to grow if they keep to your weaker areas. So no more one nation just taking all the dots.

Actually like that, give them one redeemable for one ship combat xp3 that will take them up to 3 slots on a 3rd rate. This might max out any thing under a 5th rate and even some 5th rates (don't think it will for the 4th rates). This will make up for all the time we have spent in game and our ranks. That and give us a freaking tree to know what ships to progress up to. A lot of the frustration is we have to grind all these ships and guess. I really think if 3 slots is a norm than we should not need to unlock any ship to get up to three slots. Than make the 4 slot can't be unlocked without something of like class or below up to three slots. That way you don't have to unlock 20 ships to get the last 4-5 slots. So you can't get the 4th slot unless you ships below are at 3 slots. you can't get the 5th slot unless the one below is at 4 slots. That way it is only a few to get that level and than you don't have to master them all to master one. And the devs wrong about comparing WoW items gain to this game. The maxed out build would be end level. Connie is not end level it's mid level. The 1st rates are end level so that should be what they are compared to some one with a complete build in a game like WoW. Right now by time we get mid way to the connie we are prob max level in game from all the gridnign we did with ships below. By than we should be in SOL's not mid level of the connie. And this is if you only sail those shisp and no other ships.

Back ages ago when I was still US player I was down in British area hunting with a clan mate. We where both in Trincs and tagged a Brit in a Trader and got him. It was empty so we just sent it home to get out of the fight to have a fleet of two trincs and a bucc waiting for us. The we didn't think it was good odds so made a running fight for it. Buddy escaped and logged out cause he had to go. I got out and there was the same ships. Now I have been running for over 3 hours now. The only one that was able to tag me was one of the Trinc's (the guy we captured the Trader of). Well we go for it again on the running fight, the other two where so far behind they escaped leaving must me and the one Trinc. I turned and fought him. I ended up sinking him. I am starving, need to take a major bathroom break and it's been now runing over 4 hours of fighting with these guys. I just was not in the mood to go into the OW and be tagged again so I logged out in the battle screen. I went made dinner, took a break and came back a few hours later. We should still have an option to do this. I'm all cool if I log back in and it has me on the OW when I do, but we need to be able to take a break. If the game forces you out in 15 mins I will know you logged out. I can stick around if I want, but more than likely your not going to return for some time. Folks will need to have an option to do just that take a break from the game. 15 mins force to the OW if your still logged in is plenty time to give folks time to take a short break, but if they want a long one they need to log out and when they log back in they should be in the OW. If some one is there or some new person is passing is the chance they need to take. It's still a good option for those that don't want to take the time to fight a fight they don't have time for or is just going to flat out not win. With game current mechanics I still can go over to his ship take his cargo or ship or sink it if I want to. It just takes the time out of a long fight or loosing battle if some one wants to pick it.

I have accounts on all the servers. I have just about all the tanks unlockd on my main NA account and I have up till a year or so ago every Prem tank they came out with includeding all the rare tanks (I alpha/beta it so i got those tanks too).. I'm not agoing to say what I spent on that game, but we can say you can prob add a zero or two to what you spent. Yah and there is a reason I haven't played it other than a game here or two in the last year and half. I got so burned out on it. This game took it place and I been enjoying the fun and not having to buy every new tank that comes out or pay for gold to stay conpetive. I was realy hoping the sanbox ideal was going to be a real sandbox, but it isn't. Yah that game is nothig like this and I would not use it as to compare to this game. OP I thought the review was pretty good. Your right a lot of people just can't get it in there head about this game being a EA Alpha level of Development game. I might get hot headed some times but I love this game. I don't all ways agree with what the devs do to, but for the most part the direction I like.

What bugs me is even though he's in charge of a Corps he seems to gain xp slower than others. I got guys out ranking mine half the time over and over.
-
if you get to far out the return to capital (now deep water port) will get you back, it seems to work even with cargo.
-
This the way I see it, I hardly ever get sunk unless I"m knee deep in PvP than it happens. So you can go a good bit without needing a new ship. The problem I had on test when I ops on purpose doing a 7 vs 1 against AI in a frigate (5 and 6 rates in fight). I killed 3 and was working on the 4th when they got me. I was like ok let me buy a new ship, did that and than went to get guns. 20K for the Cerbuas but 120K for the cannons.....uh what? Yah that part I didn't like but now that we can craft them it's not that bad. We can't be as cocky as we can with the current ship mechanics knowing you only have one dura. Defiantly will need to take your time and get a small fleet and back up money built up. I'm running three chars and I all ready built a Surprise and Trinc and can build another ship if I want if I got more stone blocks to port. So a small clan with 5-10 guys can get thigns going pretty quick. SOL's are still going to take some time and they should. Just a warning this patch that came out today is buggy as hell, wait until they hotfix if ti you get the free time. Right now every thing can't move on the OW cause of the cargo OW speed changes.

YOu can use return to deep water (old return to capital) to get back to a port. Though it might send you to a none friendly. I had to do that to get back to la tort and than I took a basic cutter out to get back to Mort.
-
Ok I redid it and I didn't do the confirm part so that is why it didn't sink. Cool it is a scuttle command.
-
I did do that and niether of them sanked. I'll have to do another, but sadly I have no ship that will go over 0 knts right now.....well time to go do something else this weekedn until they fix. To be honest as soon as we all found this bug they should of rolled the patch back until they found the problem.
-
did it actually sink. I did two privateers and niether of them sunk. Though who knows what they did after I left as the battle was over. I was hoping it would work more like a scuttle command so you can capture a ship in a big battle and than scuttle it after the board and taking any cargo. That way no one else can use it.
-
Ok ships I have heard that aren't working Connie LVG Trader Brig Niagara Surprise Trader Lynx Any one find any other lets add it to the list.
-
Pirate den or Admirality shop only shows up for you if your in your nations port. It won't show up in any free towns or other nations ports. So no you can't just sneak in and get it. You can use an alt to get it, but no game mechanics should be made as if every one has alts.
-
and don't you think having the only SOL's BP's on nationals will give ya'll a advantage after that?
-
I'll test this, I did board two privateers in my stuck connie and got pay out after battle. Maybe it's just some ships?
-
Did you see my post early? Pirates only get the Pirate Frigate in the shop. While Nats get all the SOL's and the Aggy. We are all ready restricted by the fact that we can not easily craft anything above a Connie. I'm fine with that, but give us something in return. That makes us not a broken nation like we are now. So allowing us to capture any ship AI or player above 6/7th rates would give us that little uniqueness from the other nationals. Yah players are still going to want to have a player crafted ship over an AI ship any time, but this allows us to have a means to replace our ships when we prob won't have the best regions out there cause of restrictions on limit on what regions we could easily attack vs a Nation that can craft SOl's more easily.
