@admin or other staffers still waiting on an answer why do 7 other nations get 8 ships BP's and the Permits for those ships and the Pirates only get 1 BP and the permit for that ship while we are still being treated like any other nation. We keep getting restrictions and restrictions but no perks for being a pirate. Don't say well you have Pirate vs Pirate cause that isn't a big perk. You have effectively handy capped pirates in any RvR by limiting us out of 1/3 of the games ships. Yes we can use alts to get these and yes we can trade for them, but if we are a Nation we should be treated as a nation or make us unique and PIRATES if you want to treat us like pirates and not the same as other nations. I mean if ya'll plan to take us out of the conquest and give us something like raids and make us actually not just a bastard/red-headed step child of the nations that fine, but if not than we should have the same options as the other nations. I also notice not all figureheads are for all nations. Thought before the 7 Nations had a few that the pirates didn't have and the pirates had one (rattlesanke) that the other didn't have. I can see you giving pirates certain perks over the other 7 nations if you plan to limit them on there crafting of certain ships.

yah I hate they are even given them to PvE sever plaeyrs. Just like any other game out there. If you want PvP or special mission gear than YOU HAVE TO DO THE PVP OR SPECIAL MISSIONS. That are pay some one else to do it for you. You should not get the easy way out. Many games even lock these gears to your player so you can't grind them out for the PvE only players. I can turn 600K into almost 2 Million with a 2 way trip. So you can easly make money. I don't do this every day though or if I do it's one trip and only one trip. What I do is I watch the shop and buy things until I get a full two LVG loads and than I make the trip. I only buy the high profit returns goods. La Tort takes Pirate goods and that what I do that with. Than I pick up what ever is in shop to fill my ships and bring them back. I make most the profit giong one way, but still make a profit on the way back. As capitals takek every good but that nations so it doesn't matter what I buy in La Tort. It just means you have to be more smarter about when and where you do your runs. You can't just pop into a port and expect to instantly have goods there and make money. In time on the live server this will prob be more replaced with players needing goods as I could make one product in a port, but a player is willing to pay if I bring it to there production ports. I use to offer a killer for coal in Atwood (4 times market price) cause it was my staging hub before I took things to Kidds. That way I can break any metal goods down before I hulled them to make them lighter and I could bring more. It was mostly new players that filled that contract that only worked in that area, but they would bring a small load and get a nice pay out to help them keep playing. And the port that had coal was just a skip over from me but took a shallow water ship. Perfect for some new player to produce and run from. Over all I like the game in it's new form, there are a few things I don't like but I'l live with them, but a few others I brought up in the furoms and waiting on answer. Like why do pirates get 1 ship in the Admirl/Pirat Den Shop and all 7 other nations get 8 ships? As long as we are being trated as a nation we should get the same treatment or give something as a perk back for us since we can't readly builds SOL's and the Aggy and no one ship isn't a perk over them. Nor is Pirate vs Pirate. That just means we can have fun kiling each other or policing folks that act out of line over what other nations can do.

Good to see it got fixed, I found just closing out steam and rebooting it up helps when I get that error.

This wasn't two weeks ago, but what I think he's talking about is that the current no NPC ship catpure has locked folks out of there fleets and other problems. Just go back to only Players and there AI ships (any player craftered or store bought ship) can be capture. All they have to do is have all AI OW (grey) ships with none capture flags and any bought/crafter (blue) ships be with a capture flag on them. I had a bought Connie (blue) in my fleet the other night and was moving it to another port and saw a fat fleet to tag. I tagged it and in the middle of the fight my AI Connie boared an AI Bell Poule. It won but cause of the crew lost it hopped over into the Bell Poule and left the perfectly good Connie sitting there. After the fight was over I went to put crew on my connie and make sure to be able to take it out of the fight. It was tagged AI and I couldn't capture or take my ship out of the fight. Since the Bell Poule is an AI ship it was tagged as such. So at the end of the fight I lost both ships (didn't want the bell poule) and didn't get any credit for the bell poule kill I helped with cause it wasn't sunked cause my Ai was in it. Now I could of skullted my connie but I wouldn't of got any credit for it cause I did no damage to my own AI fleet ship so it would of been a waist. I think things like this and folks can abuse the system by putting there better ships in fleets (like first rates). And if they have traders in fleets we can't capture the traders, just take the cargo off. What the point if I'm in a war ship and can't put the capture trader and cargo in my fleet and bring it back to a friendly port?

To add what the other guys have said if your not coming out of a board and your sailing on the side of them you have to drop below 2knts to get the X to be able to check the loot. Pretty much if you can see the deck out of the water it hasn't fully sinked all the way. Why would you have so many surrender ships? Crew is free now. Officers don't have lives so that is free. There is really no reason to surrender other than if they are totaly out number and feel there is no reason to fight and try to win and waist there time so they just give up. You make it sound like folks are going to just surrender left and right. Though I can kinda see t he pack mule thing if your doing long distance fights and that ship, maybe an LVG could be packed with support stuff like extra repairs and all so you don't have to carry them all on your ship. Wonder when they will bring trade in fights between players? It seems this pick up cargo thing is going to be a step towards that. At the end of fight you can go to your LVG and get more repairs and such off the ship if needed before you go to OW. So we pretty much have trade between our NPC's in fleet for such, why not players next. I can also see say three hunters take a trader. We already been talking about this in my clan. "OH sorry guys can't go PvP cause i got to get these resources built so I can keep ya'll in ships." I don't think it will be as bad as fine woods was where I was spending all my time collecting it and not PvP like I wanted to keep other members in ships. Though we have agreed upon the current active players if some one only pops in for PvP/RvR and won't help support the others they will find they will be very short on ships. As we won't just give them ships any more until we have a nice big stock pile built up. You want the goods you got to help out the team. I think all these HARDCORE PVP guys forget that you are actually a minority of the main player population. The majority is the guys that will be doing the PvE grind and crafting for the most part. You have to have that there to keep the economy going and well they are targets, they are you prey. The more folks you have on game with something to do either it's PvE or PvP is the more folks you have to fight. Now if they refuse to do any PvP and they hide all the time? Than they prob should be over on the PvE server isntead. Though many of those players that do a lot of PvE will just as much fight you and do RvR too. It's just not there only goal in life. Hay see Grundgemunkey we can agree on things...lol So yah the more of those PvE type of players on the game the more sheep for the slaughter.

I'm not a big fan of over use of fleets cause that is all US/GB (well the majority) did on PvP2 against us cause they couldn't beat us in a fair number vs fight so they would drag as many fleets as they can when they came to a fight, but we learned to use that against them. SHOOT THE SAILS and the fleets fall behind and are useless. Kill the fleets and retag and half the times they are short on crew the next fight cause they didn't repair or had to many crew in the fleets (max fleets). There are tons of ways to fight them and the big thing I see that you goes are forgetting. If your 2 ships and you fight two guys with one AI it's now a 2 vs 4 right? Well what makes that different than if you fought four guys it's still a 2 vs 4. PICK YOUR TARGETS BETTER. If it was 4 players you still be fighting the same fight but instead it's not 2 extra retarded AI that can't repair or fight half a darn for the most cause cause they make stupid mistakes. We all ways just looked at the AI as really bad players and just fought and most the time won. If yall are so good than you shouldn't have a problem fighting a player with AI or next time bring more players with you. If your solo hunting than pick the guy that doesn't have AI in his fleet or go for the challenge. And remember if he has all them fleet slots he won't have perks like Carpenter, and other great combat perks to help him. He pretty much gave himself a crutch that you can use against him. A true solo hunter picks his targets wisely too. He doesn't bite off more than he can handle. I still don't see the difference from one guy with 3 slots or fighting 4 players. It's still a 4 vs what ever you have on your side. Just happens one of them brought a bunch of stupid ships that half can't fight and the other group can be just as bad (I seen some players worse than AI) or they can be very deadly cause they are organized. You need to decide if you (if your alone) or your group (if your not) can handle those 4 SHIPS in a fight. If you can't handle those 4 ships cause your solo hunting than pick a different target.

Teleportation - a few thoughts

I keep hearing folks mention port battles and they forget that you should have your own screeners with you to and some of the port battle mechanics have changed so there might be more brawling and ships getting sunked in them. It's going to be interesting but we will see. I would if that was my job and there should be fights out side that will keep them busy. -
Than maybe they did fix it after all.
-
log out and log back in and you will be out of the ship and should be able to put it in your fleet.
-
What was his ship? Two connies would be 450 crew times 2 so almost 900. So unless he was in something like a surprise than he was under crewed in them. So your saying a buddy and you couldn't take three ships with some stupid AI being two of than? Or you couldn't take them solo? Well if it was to much look for easy pray that isn't a fleet. It's test bed right now folks are prob running around with large fleets cause there are hardly any one to fleet up to go grinding with or hunting and folks are more into the testing part of the game than anything. They could of been moving ships from one port to another too. I done it to put some better war ships in a port more closer to the action and the only way to get them there is to put them in my fleet. You want equal ship fights I hear there will be an arena game some time in the future with equal number match up and such.
-
Yah I think a few of them are either going to become very big hot spots or folks are going to keep others in check and make them trading hubs between certain nations. Specially if it's two nations that are working together they can use the free town between them to trade goods. I never been a fan folks could come into a Capital port and buy a ship of an enemy nation. I also never liked the concept of being able to craft ships in freeports other than small ships and traders. Kinda wish we had crafting restrictions on some ports. Like you can only build frigates and above in deep water ships. Line ships in only ports that are lineship (all capitals should be this rating). While you can still trade in free towns if you both had an outpost there. Just don't bitch if some tags you on the way there on home if you didn't bring a proper escort.
-
I was just thinking about this could you post it back up for sale? Than rebuy it and try to send to fleet? Sorry didn't think about it when we talked about it.
-
How did you kill the ships? Did you just rage board them and capped then? You did no damage so you earn no points. YOu have to give them a broad side or two to get credit. This is part of the system to keep folks from just surrendering to there alts to farm them. I have captured a lot of ships since patch and got credit for them, but I did damage before I boarded them. The system is like this also so folks don't jsut get big Ai fleets and let them farm AI while they sit AFK. You have to actually do damage and assist or kill to get reward now.
-
I'm getting the same with Mahogany so I don't think the thickness is working right. Indefatigable is 65 and I'm getting 68.25 when Mahogany suppose to give +5. Are we getting a percentage maybe? With stiffness you should have +6 to yours so you should be getting a bit more. Oh did the math and yes that is % not an absolute number. As the 3.25 is 5% of the 65. If yo add 4 and 2 to make that 6% on your boat the frigate gets 3.6 added to it. So yah we are getting percentage now instead of a base number.

Why are you setting up at the mouth of a port? If your so worried about them pickabooing than sit around a corner and wait until they come out and can't return to port. I seen you do it tons of time at Sandy Point in the shallow. If it's a port you can't do that than you prob need to find better hunting grounds to set up your trap cause being in plan view isn't very good trap. And in the same view you say they shouldn't be able to see out the port? Well you shouldn't be able to see what is in that harbor until it's well out of it an away. If they are in a freeport you can just go set down the way and wait for them to leave cause you know they can't telport out so there only other optioin is to log out of the game until later.

I was just thinking about that last one cause I had this kinda happen to me. I bought a ship didn't think of it and went out grinding with my old ship in fleet. I get back to port and I need to hope back to mort to drop off some of the mods I go grinding. Well I can't first cause of the reason you mentiion I had a fleet. So I remove the fleet and find I can't cause I have to many ships. Dang didn't even think about this as I had hit my 5 ships when I bought the one. SO I had to delete the trader brig I had in port (it was an AI capped one any way). Since the fleet can't go with you than why can't I leave ships in the fleet. Go back to the click thing where I have to click the box if I want to leave that port with them or telport to another but I can leave them in the fleet slots. As for the lock out of port thing. How about this, you can always teleport out of a port back to one of your national ports but you can't ever telport into a Free Port? make it one way so if you gt sunk and sent back to a free port you can just hope over to one of your national ports if you don't have ships in that port. Or if you do you can leave and go play some where else if that port is being locked out. But all else fails and your getting locked into a port just get the basic cutter and make a run for it. They don't cost anyhting and they don't give any big rewads so most folks are goign to ignore a recently killed player in one.

I'm so sick of the remove GPS thing. No not cause I like it for ganks, but cause I royal suck at navigation in this game at times specially when it's bad weather....lol Though what I think is funny when I hear folks call out a battle I hardly ever hear. "COME TO THIS EXACT COORDINATES" What I do hear is, "Hay I got a fight with two Brits out side of La Tort. Just go north around the island back towards Mort or Islet." "what ship are they in?" "A Connie and an Aggy." "Ok we will be there in a few mins." The only time I look at my make coordinates is on long sails and than I modify my heading according to where I'm at and how much off course I might be. You know like a freaking ship navigator did in that time? Now other times we have used it in game is to have every one meet at a spot to get ready for the port battle. Normally this is a log out point, but it's good for groups to meet up a couple squares away to group up and roll in with a large group. Again something like this was what they did as they would use there maps and charts and plot a course to a certain location. With TEAMSPEAK and other means for folks to communicate with the cords on the map aren't going to make much difference if you attack some one in front of a busy port in some one else water. And remember you can't teleport the ship, so they have to have a ship there in that port. I see this game as I'm the fleet commander so if I have a ship in that port it's part of my fleet not me as the Captian. I mean what Admiral would be jumping around to half a dozen ships. Ne he would have a fleet under him that he commands. You don't want to get jumped by 50 Brits when you hit that trader in front of KPR? Well don't hunt for Traders in front of KPR. Wait around the corner for them to get a good distance away or hunt in more safer waters.
-
That sounds like your problem right there. Our clan doesn't work that way and just about every clan I been on in ever game doesn't work that way. We are a team and we work as a team. You need Mahogany and I have a bunch of it I give you some. You have Iron and I need it you give some. So don't use alts as an excuse for the way your clan members act to each other about building and being a team player. That means you might want to think about recruiting better players that are willing to work as a team. Well unless your happy with a more relazed state of the game and some folks are, but if you plan to be competitive than your going have to work for it. No matter if it's 50 guys in one clan or 15 guys with 2 alts each. If that 50 guys can't work together that 15 is going to beat them every time. And that reason right there is why on PvP a small clan of pirates that are very organized and work as a team was able to bring US down to 11 ports and then Brits down to 1. The two largest nations on the server. Cause not only was just about every clan was like that the whole nation is. You can have 500 players, but if you can't get them to work together than they will get beaten by 50 players every time. On this topic I do agree that a solo player with one char is at a disadvantage against a player with say 3 chars. Though that solo player is still at a disadvantage against any clan also, so it realy doesn't matter if you plan to play solo you have to live with that.

I think the capitals will return back to being the main hubs of each nations. Which I think is good, but the other thing is the map is big enough that clans can spread out a bit and claim there own area. Maybe after wipe you might find a spot ya'll like better than KPR. That is the nice thing about the game. Just means you have to rethink the game now as it won't be the exact same. Changes are good for the most part. While yah some things are bad, but for the most part changes are good.

Teleportation - a few thoughts
Sir Texas Sir replied to Liq's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
So can attackers if they win. The defenders though now are in hostile water if they leave and have to make it to friendly waters or have there ship stuck in that port. I can just see it again. When we took Port Antonio for the first time from the Brits we camped the out side of it cause they had 14 1st rates we didn't sink in the battle. We caught 3-4 out side with our screeners after the port battle. Some of us camped that port for over 12 hours and we caught another 3-4 1st rates leaving one at a time. Remember this is high risk game now. You don't have to bring that first rate, but if your smart you better keep it in a good tight group with others. That was before folks can tow ships so I'm going to bet it will go back to be effective in block aiding ports after battles if you can. Remember not every one can just jump and telport there to right so it's going to cut down on the numbers unless your deep in hostile waters. We will have to pick our fights smarter and maybe work with multi attacks. Use verbal alliances to have more than one fronts. And maybe not every dang ship will be the same meta to make port battle more interesting and not just the same meta. We will see, the first few weeks and month is going to be interesting when the game goes live. -
What did you do cause you should be getting gold/xp for any kills you get or missions.

Teleportation - a few thoughts
Sir Texas Sir replied to Liq's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
With the port battles. Shouldn't your anti screening fleet be taking care of those screeners? It could end up in an even bigger battle out side after a port battle is over. Also when the port battle is over and if you win as an attacker both sides can enter that port. Maybe have a nice window that allows folks to get to the port and enter it if they want to. Gives them chance to restock up repair and what not. As for loosing attackers. Sorry buddy you lost, you now have to fight your way home and it might not be pretty. The same for the loosing defenders. They have to now get there ship out of enemy waters and it might not be pretty. It's really going to be hard to judge Port Battles until we know more about the new hostility system and how they are going to be triggered. Now here is something that you can try. You think that a nation might have a very strong fleet and screeners at a port for a port battle. Than scheduled two of them at the same time. Leave a small fleet to go to the one your not planning to take as a distraction and to keep them busy. Than take the other port. If they don't have ship there ready or a fleet to stop you. Remember we can watch ship movements and see where ya'll are heading towards to react before hand. Since you have to sail from friendly waters to get there. This is more real like how battles happend. Not just poof ever one logs in and we have a battle. Maybe not all your fleet will make it to the battle if any stray and falls behind. Maybe there is a bunch of pesky Pirates around the area picking off stragglers on both sides? -
Sealed Bottles Pt.2
Sir Texas Sir replied to Fenris's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
why do they have to provide valuable stuff? Some folks *GASP* actually like doing stuff like collecting them even with the small rewards. That is why I don't go out of my way to get them. I'll pick it up if i pass that area, but that is not my thing, but we have a clan mate that loves to sale all over the place and pick them up. It's his way of killing time when there is no PB's or PvP going on. The game truelly lacks content and that content keeps the casual players in game and the more of them we have is the more targets we get for PvP. So the more silly things like this that are in game that keeps some players around the better. Means more sheep for the slaughter. You know so we don't have to attack AI traders, but instead we can attack some unlucky guy looking for his bottles.
