This comment has ZERO sense. Its a PVP game - its an action game. Getting 7 kills on a fresh account IS PVP. How do you determine those are noobs? I think you even mentioned that ALL noobs are in reinforcement zones sinking to PRO xebecs (not in shroud cay patrols) - have they suddenly moved to bahamas? Some players tell us they are struggling with tutorials or uninstalling the game - how they all met reverse on his first day? Or those are ghosts that some veterans never see - only reverse finds them?- that's why they complain of the lack of pvp and importance of skilbooks? Players who look at pvp this way (separate some pvp kills from others) you will never be happy with anything. ps. sorry for teasing but its important to make this point across to everyone to be passed along. There is pvp if you want it. And new players can do everything once they learn how to play. There are no casuals in Naval Action. All are hardcore crack sailors even on PVE server. This is a hardcore game - its not for everyone!
-
Reverse is what many incoming players want to be at least in some areas. Winning all the time. PRO streamers sell more games to the right audience. PRO Streamers are good for skill based games - all games. You are not a new player = perhaps you can go and copy what reverse is doing and you can get constant PVP every day?
-
Your suggestion makes no sense. Of course no skill based game expects the new player to perform on the first day. But he can perform it once he accumulates experience which is the main selling point. Practice - practice - and you will get better. Its a skill based game - books help but they do not matter in the majority of cases. If you practice you can do well and find action if you want it. + we are totally fine that the game is not good for some players. Its good for Reverse though for some reason. He is always able to find both PVE and PVP (even without skill books). Are you sure you are playing the same game as him? What you are not doing that he is doing? if you are constantly unhappy why are you here?

7 kills on the fresh account with no books and skills
-
We are not trying to ease the harm. There is no harm to ease. Reinforcement zones will undergo significant changes before release. DLC ships are working great and as intended, giving the players an option to avoid crafting or capturing.
-
Because its a sandbox - everything is in the hands of the player himself. Game is brutally honest and if you don't look for targets you will be eternally bored. If you look for action you will find it. One of the streamers have recently taken a challenge He started a new account and got 7 pvp kills in the first 4-5 hours of the game, earning 2500 doubloons in the process. No books, no slots, pure fresh account. We suggest everyone to take a look. We asked a streamer to add english subtitles and make a 25-30 min video out of it. You can all view it in all entirety.

New search and hunt missions... really?
admin replied to John Hood's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
Do not listen to wind's BS (he is a known toxic hater) - there is 1500+ NPC fleets on the map and unlimited number in kill missions. You just have to find them once and move there. Sometimes you won't even need to sail far from port as some places have a lot of ports nearby so you always find targets. Virgin islands is one of such places. -
New search and hunt missions... really?
admin replied to John Hood's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
I will help you ONE time but after this you should figure it out yourself. Like our ancestors hunters were moving and looking for places were targets were. Britain did not become an empire by sitting on the island. Move out but move out to the right places. Tumbado - horrible place to hunt 5th rates - Yucatan is a 1-3rd rate region. La Navasse - horrible place to hunt 5th rates - Hispaniola is a 1-3rd rate region West Cuba - Escondido - is a ok place - but you have to actually sail along the coast of west cuba finding targets, just sailing to escondido does not cut it you have to find routes. There is a plenty of 5th rate regions and some of them have great concentration of ports providing amazing hunting spots. Most of them are sailing on fixed routes. you should sail more and actually make notes in your journal spotting places where see have good concentration of ships. -
lots of games are not available in Australia (even big titles like MGSV) because when Steam introduces new currency the price must be manually updated by a developer - and you cannot update the price manually if you have recently set a discount (for example for a Steam Autumn Sale). So lets hope valve clears the prices quickly.

Muskets need to go
admin replied to traitorous mctraitoro's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
I wanted to add more dynamism for boarding and allow captains to resolve the boarding quicker against defensive or last click boarders. I did not like the low casualties from grenades cannons and muskets (sometimes they felt useless). You had 250-300 muskets on a first rate it felt silly to kill such low number of people in a volley from 50 meters We have interesting good long term ideas on marines and muskets (as equitable items instead of %) Thus the variety of muskets and their strength. I think they were nerfed one more time today patch. We also plan to update the deck guns and grenades. -

Positional entry only exists in missions and hostility missions that are outside safe zones (to stop people from hiding) Missions in reinforcement zones (if the swords are in safe area) close immediately on start If a new player wants to escape the LRQ he should attack first - placing the LRQ between him and the wind - then he can control the wind angle and escape with ease. Positional entry to battles does not exist in open world attacks. Can you make me a video of the positional entry of the second enemy ship after the initial tag in the GREEN ZONE? because it should not happen. -

I am sorry but this is a War server - PvP server. They join War server to PVP. You do not join pvp servers if you dont like pvp. Noobs will learn to escape with time. Le requin is extremely bad at 180. Dont get tagged improperly by attacking first (pvp) and escape at 180. Easy concept to learn and easy concept to master. Brave veterans should know - most new players do not read forums - brave veterans should defend their capitals from those raiders instead of advocating for automated newbie protections. Maybe this is that "pvp" everyone asks for on the PVP server -

If you are really talking about Le Requin - then you are trolling.. or i have no idea what are you talking about Le Requin cannot even catch the trader brig at 180. Any rookie square rigger can escape Le Requin with ease. Perhaps you should teach players to use 2 game systems to escape from any vessel defensive tag wind polars -

btw all When we say - peace server is great for those who like calm - we actually mean it - for us it does not matter which server you are playing on - we love you on all servers. We stopped treating Peace server as a secondary server as we have witnessed how players play there and saw how they really enjoy themselves on that server. Its really calm, tranquil, friendly, helpful and relaxing. You can log off when your baby is crying, or wife is calling and never worry about your cargo. You can sail and fish afk if you need to go away from the computer. You dont need to worry about crafting as you can capture any ship you see. Nobody is cursing or abusing each other. People underestimate the calmness and healing effects of the Peace server (formerly known as PVE only - which was a bad name) We are adding tooltips to server selections so players starting characters can make the right choice. And this choice is really flexible. - Final exam gives you a permanent M&C rank for your steam account - so if you decide to try War server - you will come ready to sail a frigate. -

1 - Why cant a player learn to get close? Is there something blocking him from learning that? 2 - basic cutter allows you to ignore wind as you tack at 6 knots (are we talking about 7th and 6th rates still? Installing cheap basic mods also will make you a PVE Beast. For example installing 12lb carrons and reload mods on 7th rates or 32 lb carronades on some 6th rates. 3. why cant a player learn to keep some distance or install some boarding mods after losing a couple of times? We are not going to "decrease accuracy for 6th 7th rate mission" because those bots are already missing half the shots. To me what are you offering is to change all bots to stationary hulls with loot in all PVE encounters because some players do not want to learn the game systems. This is a hard(er) game for those who enjoy a challenge. It is no longer designed by the committee. Thanks @Macjimm for the nice reference. Once you learnt the systems ai feels inadequate like in all games even DS1-2-3 -

You are a target on pvp because you came back to the game and are probably a rear admiral in a basic cutter. I always let go new players in light ships but i never let go rear admirals in basic cutters because more often than not they carry something valuable. Americans create lots of problems in other areas - join them - we know a lot of US folks will come back to US fleets once flags will be added so they can sail under the serapis flag or us customs flag or the washington's tree flag. Most of US players are very hardcore and many will jump back to charleston to help if you are in their time zone. Its maybe there is no-one in your time zone. You never asked for assistance but i am interested in understanding why you have troubles sinking light ships in cutters as maybe there is something obvious that is missing... The rest of your points are questionable and do not exist on peace server… But - I assure you - War server is EASIER now then when you played originally. If you remember these were the rules in 2016 You can attack ANYONE ANYWHERE. (even your own nation) No safe zones 8 HOUR cool down on any fast travel 2500 players and + 4 hour queues and everyone was happy with those rules. Ganking all over the place, sinking noobs, sinking vets who were sinking your noobs, capturable 3rd rates and so on and so forth. And then we started trying to turn the pvp server for pvp players into common ground pve/pvp/casual/hardcore server based on feedback. -

ehm sorry i think you misread my statement. I would love to help this guy to sink lynxes in his cutter with ease with just 3 turns and 6 broadsides in under 3 mins (as i have to level up a new account every month to never lose touch of new player experience). But i would love to help him by reviewing his style of play and helping him to improve it. I have NO PLANS WHATSOEVER to dumb down the game to the so called mass market appeal and casual crowd. This game is not for everyone. And some people will not like it. We have no anxiety at all. Peace server is tranquil and does not have a single problem described in the post. He is a Peace server player but he is ruining his experience on the war server for no apparent reason. There is no ganking and there is zero seal clubbing on the Peace server.- 87 replies

If you have done the tutorials why do you feel the need to sail the basic cutter? Final exam gives you a permanent M&C rank + some good money. I would love to see the video of your combat example (cutter vs any 7th rate or 6th rate) so we can give you friendly tips instead to help you get good, AND see something we dont see ourselves. Send it to the PM -

you are not supposed to kill ships right and left on your first evening. You are supposed to practice and learn the ropes, upgrade you ship and THEN you will succeed. Example of missions for light ships 7th rate Sink 1 7th rate Sink 2 7th rate Sink 1 6th rate 6th rate Sink 2 7th rates Sink 1 6th rate Sink 1 5th rate All those missions are well tested on new players and all have 80% completion rate. As a result they are all rated 1 star (easy) because 80% of players have no problem with them. We know rear admirals do not do them as they provide no challenge and no reward. -
It was already proposed by @Crimson Sunrise no plans for new ammo
