  1. if one ship sails backwards with 5kn and the other forward with 3kn you can board him. But not sure if boarding will break anyway because of speration that will result while droping sails. Will only work small ship vs big ship because big ships always seemed to have more force when it came to pulling.

  4. That boarding change looks like leeway to me. Some people will fail to adept and beach themselves To me it looks like a better way than to add musketry (passive) .Boarding is (active) an active feature and will reward the ones who try.

  8. rigging can not get entangled ramming does not cause rigging dmg you can stick a bowsprit into the stern of an other 1st rate yards and bowsprit have no colider only sides and bow/stern have Yeah I am ok with that you can pull 100000 tons of ships together thats necessary because of of the simplification lvl the game has. But pushing someone out of boarding ist just gamey and not a simplification.
  9. @admin any chance that we get a change of game physics that 2 ships entangled in boarding are seen by the game as 1 entity so that the gamey feature of pushing away during boarding ends?
  10. There is no hugging in bigger battles. That are fights yardarm to yardarm, massive poundings. What should be looked at is thickness meta + angle meta. To make 100-150m fights valid.
  11. You guys always look only at the pb side of things. Furthermore ball dmg will still crew dmg your own mate. On top a surrounded ship swarmed in a big blob will sink anyway. A ship in a gank will most likely sink anyway. Maybe pb commanders should adept? Maybe boarding axes could get a disengage buff?
  12. Don't forget that soon both ships in boarding get crew dmg when fired upon. So no more 1 boards other shoot grape. Furthermore a lot of captains lack aggressiveness which in many cases could win the day. But I agree sailing downwind is more convenient.^^
  13. Players shouldn't be able to start pve fights when enemies are in the near vicinity. Would safe a lot of players that are unaware of their surroundings.
  14. On top other than in-game I doubt that naval engagements were fought at full ship speed.

The Cp compares the shape of the hull not to a block, but to a prism with a base the same shape as the midship section and a length the same as the waterline length. It is a more valuable number and its relationship to speed in yachts is better documented than the block coefficient. Dont know if that will help you

  18. i am unsure a xebec 250 crew can now easily board a surprise without pushing. But lets see.
  19. and victory will be worst 1st rate not because of leaks because of boarding as well. but i dont understand dd changes so far. What it solves is belle poules/hercs hugging 1st rates/ sols
