Ramming - why so serious?
Henry d'Esterre Darby replied to MATANZA's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
That all depends on the disparities in size between the ships, on what spot the smaller ship was hit, and the speeds of the vessels. It might be something that gashes a huge hole in the bow of the larger ship, or the larger ship might not even feel it and have a little damaged paint. -

What OS does this game support?
Henry d'Esterre Darby replied to Sir Cloudsley-Shovell's topic in Support
The game is Windows based, but those on Apples with Intel processors and a program like boot camp can play. In either case , you need to make sure your video card supports DirectX 11 to play. If the card itself doesn't support DirectX 11, you'll be unable to play. -
This is an early Alpha. The Dev team is very small and there is no customer service department. please have a little patience and they'll get back to you as soon as they can.

Builds and Brainstorms: Your Custom NA Cases

Neat rig! -
I fail to see how offering pre-order benefits and bonuses is a crime against humanity, nor a pyramid. If you are offered perks, and you pay for them, and receive them, it's not a scam. Those bonuses are usually not even major end-game items. The Yacht will be quite useful, but it's not a 74 or a First Rate. As long as you're not offering a massive game-breaking bonus to those that pre-order, I really fail to see the issue. Being jealous that others have decided to purchase something isn't a good reason to demand that nobody be allowed to get anything. Now, were they to turn around and say, "Yes, we know we told you that $40 gets you into the game, but now we've decided you need to pay another $40 or you won't be able to play", that would be heinous. As long as you get what you paid for, there's nothing wrong with offering additional benefits to those that want to offer additional support.

Instanced battles and the coward
Henry d'Esterre Darby replied to -KM-'s topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
No, it would reduce it to something like the old-style Civilization in detail and complexity - see ship, sail to ship, click "attack" button, wait for battle to end. Trying to use a single instance to calculate each individual ball's flight, track the impact/damage, all the polygons to show things damaged, hit, splashes, plus sending the exact wave state to each ship like they're doing now - all of these are impossible to do with a fully open world. You also have a problem with accelerated travel being next to impossible if the battles themselves aren't instanced. -
Admin says it's a result of a 3 second fuse. If you feel it is too long or short, please respond in the Patch thread in Sea Trials with what you think it should be. With regards to the ship itself - I found that it handles pretty crisply in a tack when manual sails are used correctly, but then I'm used to Trincomalee. 8 knots on a beam reach isn't bad for that type of ship.

The key goes to the email address you have on file with Paypal. Please double check that address, if it's correct, double check your spam folder, and if it's not there, and you ordered before 8pm Kiev Time today, follow the link and contact support. Thanks!

You really need to email support. Sitting and waiting will not get this issue fixed - the right person needs to see it and they monitor the support email. I'll link the post below that tells you what to do so that you can get your key ASAP. The only way to sort it is to follow the instructions in the link below. If you sit and wait, you'll be waiting a long time. Please make sure the email isn't in your spam folder - that happens a lot. Please follow the instructions here: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/2018-help-missing-steam-key-email-what-to-do/

Different visuals for sail damage
Henry d'Esterre Darby replied to Brigand's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Bearing in mind you'd only see that billowing action in extremely light airs, or when the breeze isn't constant. In any case where you have a faster, steady breeze, especially in the strong, hard, steady wind conditions currently modeled in game, you wouldn't see billowing or much movement at all if the sail was trimmed properly. -
Instanced battles and the coward
Henry d'Esterre Darby replied to -KM-'s topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
With the speed at which ships outside the instance can travel, it is in the game's best interests not to keep the instance open to newcomers as long as possible. Only those in a realistic radius when the instance starts should be able to interact with it - leaving it open too long allows other ships that couldn't have ever realistically reached the battle to pile on and improperly affect the outcome. -
My understanding (I'm not a Unity Developer) is that Unity can be a bit cantankerous when it comes to control inputs. I hope as well that such a great feature can be implemented at some point. Have a great weekend sir.
