  2. I meant that regarding planking crashing into each other while sailing at speed touching and rough tough each other. Pure arbitrary fantasy ruling.

  4. broadside damage based on ship tonnage. 260 tons xebec vs 1065 tons trinc (4x ) 4.1 HP loss for each 1 HP on the trinc 4x because more than 4 times less the weight. ( if it would be 3 times less, would be 3x ) 4.1 and 1 are simply the ratios.
  5. That's the nature of the beast. Maybe if "coast guardsmen" would sit less in port waiting for stuff to happen but actively sail patrols and even go out and force Conquest... maybe just maybe things would be different. But hey... when everything is granted, no need to fight.
  6. Saying you cannot PvP because there's a frigate DLC missing ( wttf does that even mean... ) is a weak argument. Smells like what it is and no perfume would change its scent. Other player-testers just started ( couple days ago ) new characters from scratch for a project. Same as you they have the skillset. Money is absolutely no problem. They living off the land. Capturing AI ships where needed and using them to pvp. And winning, that's the most rewarding part of it all.
  7. The question is... safety... Now... Regarding coding and database nightmares... how hard would it be... - to seamlessly connect PvE server with PvP server so that: >> PvP server player assets are available in the PvE server ( as one-way synchronized redeemables ) >> PvE server assets are not available in the PvP server ( locked to pve. resources, everything. XP and craft Level may synchronize ) >> shared map / conquest between both servers. That way a player could just go PvE in peace whenever he felt like , and assume the risk inherent to PvP server when he chose it. This would simply remove any necessity for zones and RoEs and whatnot.
  8. Never played it. Too little of sim in it. But anything that provides the "age of sail" experience is worth support. Reckon fantasy for fantasy rather play other more recent projects that are less clicky clicky mmo ship does things. But if you're into ArmA why not check a mod being developed for it set on the age of sail ?
  9. Yeah, all good. Staying focused is better. By the way, you fellows can setup mockup combats and test stuff. Despite rivalries we are all testers, right ? Cheers.

  11. We are moving from a credible testing and feedback to "this and this battle went like this" situations and to a finger-pointing attitude to whomever uses the ships. This is not the way. So take a step back and look to yourselves before you start accusing everyone else of this and that. Thanks fellows. Now, Combat in NA is so dynamic that, apart from notable exceptions, the same exact encounter almost never happens and different captains will have different approaches. So, instead of constantly focusing on 1 detail - the push pull kill rage board - or the invasion of OW battles versus AI we should really be providing the feedback about the latest works. Mainly the crew damage - all open areas have crew - the angle bounces, this is important. More so regarding the last one, test out the rakes across the stern. How do they "feel" ? Can you record some tests ?

  14. I wonder what would be the scenario change if the "barbary" corsair fleets of Spain would change from the daily cycleJamaica and focused on the East...
  15. We have a PvP server which also has PvE. If it changes in the future, well it changes. But until it changes, everytime I press sail PvP may happen, in whatever form. I knew this from the very first day.
  16. Not youngster and a culture like my own that excels in promoting, cultivating and supporting all coffee cultures around the world for more than 500 years knows there's nothing wrong. Actually we know it is absolutely right Along with Vietnamese, Timor selections are also excellent this year. Less coarse and more smooth. Of course the equatorial cultures remain a good all round choice. Forget the hipster stuff like fungi and monsoon stuff.

  18. Considered a total loss already. There's also report of some post fire looting to have happened so some artifacts ( was millions ) might appear of private hands soon. Given the Culture and Education budget was severely cut no wonder the more than needed re-qualification of some of the wings of the building had been postponed indefinitely. Even more worrying was that there was no water in the hydrants for the firemen, so a 40 minute delay ( they had to resort to a agricultural lagoon... ) had horrendous consequences
  19. Also, there's way more solo play nowadays, percentage wise. I would risk and say that in a clan of 100, 20 are on comms doing stuff together, 30 are not and solo'ing, while the other 50 are from different time schedules so allow rotation. It is more solo players than multiplayers. Ofc there's more need for safety. The safety in your team is waning and clamour for the solo in a multiplayer game is rampant, not only in NA but in several other "under development" games. It is really odd IMO...
  20. Got it Guess the fun of learning a pvp game is not taking into consideration. I wonder how a lot of players here learned how to survive the OW pvp... ( and many were not bred with the old per port reinforcement button ). I will disagree. It is not human nature to complain. Human nature is to try and fail and learn. Games are great for that.
  21. I fail a bit at reasoning the complaints about being dragged into pvp in a pvp server. I totally get the "safety" thing and Safe Zones..., don't misunderstand me, but in essence the excuses presented by the players, when targeted, is the same, be it in zone or zone - oh why don't you let me play my game in peace. Not trying to make a statement. Just pointing a harsh obvious "masked" issue.
