  1. Also IIRC from some posts of the devs there should be 2500 NPC sailing around the map at any given time, something like that. Meaning there's always NPCs to hunt anywhere.
  2. I think the AI population roaming a region ( and regions can be fairly vast, some of them ) might be related to the amount of players active in that region. Example, Belize. You can have 50 players sitting in port and the entire Region ( not only belize port area, it is the entire region ! ) is full of AI. This is just unconfirmed observations throughout the years.
  3. 2500 tons. 20% of hull is 500 tons. i'd estimate the rigging to have high mass as well. hull repairs recover the artillery pieces, which have their own weight as well ( and warships were designed to take into account the guns being used and adding weight, same as all the shot and powder and victuals, etc ) which I assume are calculated in the burthen tonnage for a warship, i mean it is volumetric measure, 1 ton being 100 cubic feet ( size of a standard home delivery DHL/UPS unit ) by old age of sail measurements. I am certain a carriage and gun mass and volume were several times the volume of 100 cubic feet of win ( burthen ton ). But do we need to be so technical ? Does the mass of repairs being reviewed means the removal of speed cap ? Does speeds get reviewed to historical records ? Subject wasn't about speeds, but for some veiled "reasoning" is now about speeds ( see several posts ) and not about the repairs. I am confused...
  4. Of course you wouldn't. Why would you ? What you read as personal punishment I see as global balancer. Thanks for this discussion, my opinion has been registered.
  5. Add all gun counts and calculations for every one of those 50 ships - do the math for 120 guns per ship. That's 6000 guns ( most FPS games like tarkov or arma each player is using 1 gun system at a time, not 120 ) firing and projectiles being calculated - flight, waves, location hits; for every single ball. Now add all the rest - all lines in all ships commanding rigging, canvas, hull in waves, etc. All runs server side - not like other games where P2P instances are created. Both methods have their pros and cons. I rather have it like we have in NA.
  6. Like both. The caribbean blue looks better though. Can we have a variant with a warm tone of a sunrise to it ?
  7. Side thought. What you'd think it would be the easiest and fastest; to repair a sloop/brig main mast or to repair a ship of the line main mast ? Weight (and quantity) of repairs is too low and too few to represent the true nature of what they accomplish. IF your repairs will recover 30% of "mass" of rigging, then your repairs must weight 30% of the rigging mass of the ship. Same for hull mass. Right ? Think about this idea and how it may change things even if it "hurts" a lot your speed. It is all about management of your ship.
  8. * captains, please pay attention where you posting , thank you * * no need to post duplicates * * threads moved to correct board and merged *
  9. Not entirely true dimensions count more than not. Try a Navy Brig versus a Hercules.
  10. *moved to correct section*
  11. From my limited experience in big battles of conquest, the good commanders will have a second that will write basic orders into team chat Regarding clan stuff, yeah i guess each clan has its own thing and requirements.
  12. I can remember 1 game where in game voice is really really REALLY used all the time, and I mean all the time, even by guys in the same regiments and playing together War of Rights. Naval action does not require ingame voice to add to the age of sail experience, in my opinion. Rather have sound coders time dedicated to other hearing senses experience.
  13. Gear fear. Hard to overcome. If I don't play i can never lose anything Not exclusive to NA.
  14. As an example, some 3rd rates were "converted" into indiamans. But they didn't have all the gun decks. Actually in most of the circumstances they had one and a half at most. A 74 gun converted, for example to transport nobles to the far east had only 48 guns ready ( this included 1 and 2 pounders extra mounts on the bulwarks ), and none were the heavy guns, as the decks were transformed into cargo hold and lodging. BTW... gun decks were not cargo holds. Think about that when you look to how many slots and weight space a Indiaman has when compared to a 4th/3rd74.
  15. As I explained to you in Help channel. Thank you for reading by the way. 🙄 - blueprints adds the recipe to your collection, the ability to craft the named item - you will be able to craft the item given...you gather the resources to craft the item By selecting the blueprint you will be able to see what resources are needed.
  16. I want to see data of how many battles occurred in the appointed port windows and how many were undefended against how many were at odds times, both for EU and US and OCE times. Only having that data one can attest the foundations of a less global proposal.
  17. The positive effect = teleport. That is a green light to me.
  18. [ X ] .... See only historical flags, option turned on.
  19. This is where you have it wrong. Primary duty for marines ( see RN ) was to defend accesses ( stairs, etc ) to the gun decks and to protect the gun crews.
  20. You have to change the option in the Steam game properties
  21. Clubs are your own moderation. Rest of the forum is not. There's no irrelevant spam ( unless blatantly so ) in a public affair. So... either make it your own club or expect some fellow to give shout from the bar into your table.
  22. 1v1 duel room is not the best approach. best approach is, to join a raiding squad with the mortar brig, and assault the ships doing missions/battles near their ports with forts, like in old providence, new orleans area, etc. He will be the one killing the forts while the rest of the gang will kill the enemies / capture ships. This will grant him 2 things essential to NA caribbean - learn to survive ( know your ship ), be a team chap.
  23. Nothing for a mod to see here. Enjoy the pvp.
  24. I do not understand your comment, especially regarding dlc usage. It is not mandatory. Any ship will beat NPC 1v2 of the same model. Not easy, but challenging. Please leave the feedback relative to missions in this thread
