Disable Friendly Fire
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Slim McSauce's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
There are penalties. Negligible in their minds ( and in reality, the cash penalties are naught, and xp penalties should cost a rank ) if they can deny the enemy their rewards. Bit silly I know... that's what we get when we have everything easy. -
DLC in the future?
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Sea Fox's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
Given that the Herc is by far more consistent and deadly in its OPness on average... poor shallows and deeps indeed. ( but let's keep bashing the up-to-no-good-if-player-cannot-ambush-anything-and-must-rely-on-invading-zone-battles ship ) As Ouwe well puts it, many did and will buy the DLCs to promote future developments from GameLabs and as a thank you token. Not everyone is competitive in extreme and many DO PLAY IN PVE SERVER and have bought the DLCs. In the end is all about not judging others by our own standards. We are all involved in NA for different reasons and look to different aspects of the game. It is the collective of different approaches that make a community, not everyone looking to the same thing ( that's why longevity of "high meta" and fixed schedules do burn people out and they have to take breaks ). -
But when you hit someone I guarantee at least 40 will jump out of port I wonder if Port Action is a GMT-5 / GMT-8 playstyle 🤔 ... can't wait for the reviewed battle entry timers.... *sigh*

Repair Balancing
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Slim McSauce's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Let the upgrade arrive. Verify the reality after the reworked modules combinations. Then come back to this. Speed, repairs, etc all "suffer" at this exact moment from the same - stacking or the lack of. One small detail I see happening a lot is folk letting themselves go very low on broadside health and only then popup a repair. Maybe they don't know that the less "HP" the less thickness effect... -
No idea what's going on but I blame the entire situation on the simple fact that Portugal is not represented as a nation. Nothing of this would happen if...

"Available for all"
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Corona Lisa's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
The little we have left of "worth" to conquer some place would be finally defeated. Why ? Well...Even a closed port is a veiled naval base all due to the concerns of "not having ships trapped" after being conquered, right ? Devs are nice and save yer ships because We just can't afford to "lose gear". So, that safeguard allows us to bounce a trader ( player or AI doesn't matter ) close to Closed enemy port, switch and enter and repair for "free". Switch back and exit with a brand new warship repaired at enemy facilities. Who needs outposts really ? Ah well... not supportive of the suggestion, i'd be cruel on loss especially regarding Conquest but guess the majority wants a open world fast access little loss combat. All good. -
Disable Friendly Fire

would make me stop playing. same as if it would happen in all other game i play. no ff no play. FF on... always. ( we had two companies of Union troops firing into each other at 300 yards, in War of Rights, due to "fog of war". Errors were made...and good boys paid for it ) -
sinking your ship gives PvP marks to enemy
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to vazco's topic in Support
After you make the change the original ship, if you don't sink her, will be a NPC hence why it doesn't in your latter example. On the original one it counts as a sinking by boarding and should award the marks according to damage done by enemy up to that moment ( and crew kills ). Not tested it, but if no damage is done - outright boarding, change ship, sink original - I'm curious if it awards them. -
More outpost slots are needed

Less. Even less of everything. Please. Not more. I represent the 1% of the players that wish to fight for a breadcrumb, not being given a free full meal. -

TESTBED - MISSIONS FEEDBACK
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to admin's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
Not a negative, just leave me out. There's plenty of casuals that did build many of the nations in the past, when there were no teleports, when there were no buildings and only contracts and you had to sail to pick up what you needed. When crafters were worth gold and "revered" and people were happy giving them, GIVING them the hours! Casuals are not brainless. -
TESTBED - MISSIONS FEEDBACK
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to admin's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
What did i do ? Again this talk.... I give up. "My dude", i played all types of styles along the thousands of hours across a lot of nations, from being a noob, to sailing big ships and doing a decent amount of conquest, to operating nice ow defense frigate guard to being a raider. I do not need to present you my CV since i started testing NA. You think you know but you have little idea. But let me tell you this: - 1 account - no handouts - i wipe my account every single major update Now, please leave me out of your personal concerns. -
Clarification needed on Tribunal vs Ingame Chat Report
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Tom Farseer's topic in Support
A game under development that has no chat nor voip and is hardcore pvp - uses only emotes - has a undisclosed million players daily, with audience peaks at 60k in the major streamers. Do not for a moment think that everyone rides the same ego wagon. NA is even a more interesting historical game subject which attracts way more mature audience, but if they have to endure pubescent "middle.age adult teenager" outtakes I bet you they will rather go play with a healthy community some other game. Bad behaviour is contagious and to consider it normal is not normal. Trolling can be done without any cuss vocabulary.- 30 replies

Repair Balancing
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Slim McSauce's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
That's a tiny part of the Vic fore topsail. Covering an area of 3,618 ft, it was the second largest sail on board HMS Victory and would have been one of the main targets for French and Spanish guns as HMS Victory approached the enemy line. It is battle-scarred and pock-marked by some 90 shot holes. link -
Repair Balancing

Sure, i don't even contest that approach. But, look at the game design, the repairs are a %%, not parts. -
TESTBED - MISSIONS FEEDBACK
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to admin's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
Question: Nation controlled areas will see more own Nation NPC sailing round and less enemy ? I ask this because they are a nice to have safety measure, a indirect escort if needed be. They always were in past at some point ( we still didn't have the forts and ppl would actually sail with the NPCs many times for safety during parts of the journey )
