  1. Yeah, I see the issue on other fronts. Quite an oversight on my part. Back to the triple clock barricades then.
  2. No. We have all Timezones in PvP One. Timers must be changed in some way or form to give the same opportunity to all. I suggest timers actually be create in triplicate with 0, 6 and 12, hours difference to promote FULL community opportunity.
  3. Boy is your mongrel sir. Sorry for the laughter but couldn't help it at all. NA is primarily a game of combat in the age of sail using ships and takes place in a vast open world that can be sailed and interacted. It has a very important social aspect without the need of in-game mechanics. This I like a lot as I like to play with other people and not other players, if you can understand the difference. It is not an arena game, it is a game of war where you are the file and rank or the overall commander, wherever you want to be, without resorting to common automated mechanics to do anything. I simply do not use economy/crafting apart from buying ships from the crafters, so I will reserve my opinion on that to a secondary importance. Half heart salute with a natural sneer. Capt. Hethwill
  4. RL grind = months of inaction at sea. 99% moving about, 1% combat. We have it easy peasy ahahah
  5. Great to read it and yes it is great propaganda
  6. Yes. This is okay. Regarding sales and auctions. There is already a store in place, nationwide. There is already chat in place for the clan only if needed. The social aspect is covered. Having to meet in the capital is simply a choice, and comfortable given the Teleport, not a mandatory thing. What are we missing ? also the poll leaves a lot to be desired, can you please step back and remake it fair and square ? Thank you
  7. - Changing the flag purchases to the port timer. Meaning that we could only purchase a flag from a port during the set timer of that port. Could it be that this simple change, shouldn't be extremely hard for the dev team, could help, in the short run, the grand strategy and minimize the timers loophole ? Feel free to discuss as always.
  8. * laughter... loud laugher * Thanks for the game devs. You know your job well.
  9. Too much rum. Seems the RN boys are being issued triple rations.
  10. Up to 25, sorry number being the limit. Fleet Group, tied to a Flag. Other than that groups of 6 are okay IMO. We can all have 4 groups of 6 on TS plus one overall commander and that sums up 25 and this is good for open sea galore already.
  11. The 21st day of March, Year of Our Saviour two thousand and sixteen. third bell of the Mid watch, 2 miles of Willemstad, bearing South To our most supportive benefactors, which shall remain in anonymity, and also as an open letter to the respective Navies in conflict in the Great Eastern War, Patrons, Captains and Admiralty liaisons, and to all the crews serving aboard the vessels, We must congratulate ourselves first for today. Second we must honor our opponents. Finally the Parliament has ceased to interfere with the Admiralty decisions, after a prolonged fight of words between the politicians and the Navy which had to be ruled by the Prince and the Council for the United Provinces for the West Indies. The production machine, which was still under the firm grip of the greedy entrepreneurs, has been nationalized and the processes of production being rationalized towards war. No man, woman or child, which serves no other end other than working the fields, the woods, the smiths, the shipyards, shall be left without an occupation. All strong citizens are to be enlisted into the various fleets as planned by the War Council. We got command of a brand new commissioned frigate. A model based on the Independent Thirteen Colonies super frigates which I let the crew baptize. They chose to name her - Greater Grison - as they came to appreciate the tradition of naming the ships after temperamental predatory creatures, and we set sail from our beloved capital right after the 6th bell on the dog watch with non specific orders to join ships outside harbor and navigate towards the south east at full sail. Let me confide that never since the conflict against France did I saw so many sails in the horizon. It seems that a third of the nation power was on the sea. I can only wonder how will it look when the FULL might of the United Provinces is finally unleashed. All the ports I passed were busy equipping ships, training crews and running drills. This will be a great war, a paradise for frigates captains like myself, so help me God for having such love for combat and violent encounters with the enemy but I cannot help but always go into harms way. We finally reached Caracas and received orders to follow Sir Neith`s fleet to Cumana. So I did. Full wind and running through the meager blockade the Swedish navy put in place. ( we came to know that this was due to the offensive having three main fleets attacking all across the contested area east of La Tortuga so the swedes were spread thin ). The battle for the entrance of the port would seem, at first, as a one sided thing, given the array of guns setup by the Swedish admiral but the United Provinces reform at the command level from the previous week is bearing fruit and most excellent and confident commanders which fortify the captain`s will to fight against the odds and still prevail. After the first three forts at the entrance of the bay were destroyed and with the wind changing fast the order to turn about and reform the double line to go down wind and engage the most distant fortress. I signaled the fleet that I would disregard that order given the fact the my own "Greater Grison" was in such a good position to immediately engage the closest fort without being threatened by the two 74 guns ships given they were always head wind towards me which complicated their gunnery resolution. This resulted in the fort being devastated by two ships from the up wind position, my own lady and another in support, while the rest of the line raced across the beam and put a most effective ripple fire into the structure which collapsed in short order. All this under constant fire from the enemy fleet. Then it came the most gallant order from the fleet commander - "Turn about into their beam reach and charge." Simple. Direct. Into them. Both lines crashed in a massive cloud of gunpowder smoke, fires erupting and frantic bells giving alarms could be heard as far as Gustavia for sure, such was the decisiveness of the dutch captains to seek, break and sink the enemy formation which gave way and suddenly broke into smaller teams while our own kept a strong core with several detachments chasing and forcing the swedish ships to run for safety. Alas the night fell and we could not press the advantage. Crews were on the brink of exhaustion although the fighting spirit was at biblical proportions high, but the lull in the chase given the falling darkness let the enemy fleet slip away and take refuge further inside the safe harbour of Cumana and we will have to try again soon. It rests important of note that both fleets were primed and ready but made out of open sea action captains not versed in the big fleet actions ( OOC. randoms ). This fact alone serves as a wake up call to the Dutch Nation to understand there are no permanent officers, admirals, leaders. All it takes is bravery and commitment to victory. Captain Hethwill Eskeath, aboard the "Greater Grison" super frigate chasing a swedish fleet of four ships including a 74 gun flying the ensign of Commander Redfin _____________________ ( written before I had a chance to write my unconditional support of the cease fire due to the sad human real life events from this morning )
  12. For open world chase and skirmishes I think 6 is a nice count. What can be implemented indeed is the Fleet Group ( 25 ) tied to a Flag Carrier. The UI as I see it needs no change regarding the chase groups. It is simple enough to help a random group and having the info on ships veers towards "too much mmo" aspect. The less clutter the better IMO. NO/NO
  13. I am enjoying every single minute I spend in the game, make no mistake in that, except the massive pile of manure in the National News. Even the regular period newspapers get sunk beneath the running gutter...which is reaaaaaally a shame. It needs fresh air. A refreshment of the minds and a step back. All nations. Would actually be a pivotal point to the way the groups are getting solid and get them on track even better.
  14. Blasphemy !!! Replacing wind and Nature with polution and steel.... ah nevermind... it is just pixels
  15. I do not think it is okay in the passive state we have them. Have presented alternatives in other threads including ( but not limited ) to these 2: - AI fleets that include 3rd rates must be proper fleet setups, 25 ships of several rates, that pose a threat and make them... event like almost. That way a concerted effort must be worked out by two groups or so. - or - - Tie AI spawns to frontier areas only. Make them aggressive.
  16. You failed to read the point. You are off scale
  17. It is being done daily by friends from different nations. No need for a second account. Classic AI sheep pen.
  18. Take it as you wish but for the sake of the mental health of many of the Naval Action players that participate actively in the forums and also those that do not and get intoxicated by the acid transpiring from it... ... reset the map...As Soon As Possible. We need to learn to play together without such verbal violence and outright aggressiveness. (( ... mental disorder levels were measured from several if not all the National News threads... and apparently they went off scale. ))
  19. Exactly what I do. A Privateer is an excellent choice to go into harms way pvp and it is a meager 18k on the NPC traders, 5 durabilities. One single successful engagement will make you prize 3 times its value. * broad grin *
  20. You are trying to do everything on your own. You get spread out in time and effectiveness during that time. For one the new economy/crafting system allows for 3 to 4 players to setup a ship building system that spews forth 1 or more ships everyday. Another one is if you are 100% combat you will make enough treasure to always buy new ships thus rendering yourself immortal. I do not owe any production buildings. I simply make crafters happy. I mostly do pvp in the open sea. I keep 5 outposts, 3 always in conflict areas, such as Ile-a-Vache, Island Harbour and given I had to dismantle Concepcion will have to think where to put it. Screen fleets for the Port Battles, and privateering in the enemy nation's homeland. Missions not that often. I ceased all AI trader raids. At this very moment I have ( 4 & 5 duras mix up ): - 1 Renomee ( on loan to a friend ) - 1 Constitution ( with a second one being built today ) - 1 Surprise - 1 Privateer - 1 Frigate - 1 Pirate Frigate - 1 Cerberus - 1 Belle Poule - plus a couple of captured AI ships ( suprise and some other ) Past 7 - 14 days I effectively lost one full Constitution ( 2 port battles + 2 open sea combats ) and one full Suprise ( open sea skirmishes )
  21. A clan is not necessary. A big ship is not mandatory. Any person that likes games tends to tilt between titles that fill specific interests, be it RPG, be it military history, or management simulation. Many early backers been away for months and even a full year. After trials and seeing the combat was superbly achieved many gave it a rest and returned to a more populated and polished open world. It will always happen.
  22. Better a honest battle than a empty port conquest. My opinion.
  23. 5 lives should be insurance enough. On top of that all the 1 dura ships we all capture from the AI, if not from other players. It is a LOT of PvP assets. It simply renders insurance obsolete. There is no point. Plus ships are not that expensive. The main thing is, if a player only wants to pvp when in safety of numbers, or never do it, there is no mechanics that will force him to do it otherwise.
  24. This I agree. Bypass the kill and reward the Captured outcome in PvP.
