I concur. Best investment for money is indeed shares into toilet paper companies. It will never EVER come a time when the product gets obsolete. ahhhhh sorry for the off-topic
-
Thanks for sharing it. I am PvP-1 so war is constant especially at the peak times and well into the night. Superb fun with small squads roaming around all the time. This sort of information regarding server experiences is very important actually for the Developers - but I think they keep an eye of the data

Go close to the contested areas. You will find fleets between two nation's ports. Oh, and also enemy nation players. Good patch.
-
Sure thing. And make them actually slightly more aggressive than the placid sheep they are in the OW. Just slightly.
-
Noted. I like to play the game the other way around. Searching for trouble and get into battles with other players without interference. And yes, we get a lot into uneven fights Yields enough gold to buy ourselves 5 durabilities at the price of 2. Nevermind the XP, we like the privateer/frigate combat. So how to compromise both worlds - you like reinforcement fleets, I dislike them as an interference - in one game ? I agree with you. Bigger AI fleets roaming. Make them powerful. Make them appropriate and dangerous. 25 ships.

Someone suggested a "debris" icon or similar a while ago. Sure would be nice.
-
The PvE fleets still roam around. *shrugs*

You have a couple of shining moments buried in there, but none relates to what we have or had. The Content is indeed one of them but while at a PvP server it is expected that at least two thirds of the content will be related to the Action part of the Navy. Second shining moment is stepping up the "hardcore" label upon players that play Naval Action only for the Action part. Personally I must say thanks to this in a very ironic manner. It means the Action part was indeed lacking. Now onto the rest. Having only 1 out of 7 players in the forum really worried about the combat part is really disturbing. We have more post relating to economy and crafting than we have to the very core of the game - combat, chasing prey, skirmishes with enemy flotillas, conquest fleets clashing and finally the dreaded port battles mechanics. As I see only the reinforcements got removed. The AI fleets are still out there. Ganking is not that common at all to make it a huge problem, plus for each corsair group in a nation there is also a hunt group trying to find them and give a fight. It is proper.

Actually for the pvp groups always patrolling this will be very nice and of course, extra vigilant. Will be good for National chats as well with people relaying hostiles etc. Given the testing phase let's make an effort and see how it goes. At least now we should have enough population in the servers to make it work properly. Edit: Also the dynamic of the screening fleets during Conquest operations will be extremely changed now.

What special event during the age of sail took place in 1758 AD I wonder...

Boarding fitted privateers/officers

That I know, although I miss some exceptional ones. But would be nice to have some rare and nasty nice aggressive AI roaming and provoking chaos. ( specially now that reinforcements are disabled ). -
Boarding fitted privateers/officers

Grape them !!! Is this a event like AI thing Admin ? -
Most excellent fixes. This particular fix will totally change the high sea combat on many contested areas. Captains no longer can enter battles from invisibility/invulnerability to avoid port hopping and hiding in battles for the purpose of ganking

I can see where you want to aim at and I salute it. But whomever doesn't want to, will never stay and fight no matter what. Even if you'd give them the world they would still run away. For a combat captain the fight is reward enough in comparison, there is no need for reasons but the combat itself -
No. I guess the Great Eastern War is now beyond a reasonable end other than cannon fire and port conquest. Indeed it will be You, Swedish Nation, that will approach the Dutch representatives soon enough.
-
Outside a gaming mechanic is there any "real world" situation that would support this ? I am asking this because 5 permanent dock spaces ( +1 temporary ) that can fit up to the biggest ships in the world are readily made available in all outposts already. Plus up to 5 ship building / drydocks if you so chose. Do not take this as an opposite opinion, it is not, I am simply curious of why this is being suggested

PvP1 Sweden at war with the Dutch
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Admiral Jacob Bagge's topic in National news
Thanks for closing all the ports It is indeed the best course of action. Shows the commitment to a cease fire and honours the will to fight of all your captains and by all means necessary, take advantage of all the possibilities the game gives you. Salute and really hope you don't get steam rolled out of the blue again during the non EU prime times -
Ship Slots
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Precious Roy's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
You can dock 5 ships and enter while in a ship temporarily raising it to 6. You have to leave in one ship. There are no upgrades. New outpost(s) should be enough. -
Whats wrong with the Connie?

Running Constitutions nowadays to thoroughly test the wood and built in setups. The Live Oak and Strength one was the classic. Can fight her way through but suffers a lot at all ranges. Sluggish but handy overall. Not special. The Teak and Planking one is quite pleasing. It deflects most long range shooting and has staying power at medium range ~400 yards. At musket range it shows the Teak structure lacking. It holds on to the leaking and it will fight to the end. It is quite speedy. With optimized rudder and lightweight ropes it surely is a match for the Trinc. It is a favorite to exploit gaps. Main weakness as I said is at short range duels, so it becomes sort of limited in its choices. The third one is a Live Oak and Planking setup. Have yet to bring it to a proper pvp shakedown run. Speed is acceptable and seems to have the most staying power. Giving I still captain them under crewed I use a full complement of 12 pounders with Fine Powder Monkeys. Also always carry a Fine Pump with the Planking setup. When fully crewed they will be quite a nice addition to my collection. I loved the Trincomalee in trials but this time I will overlook it entirely. -
PvP1 Sweden at war with the Dutch
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Admiral Jacob Bagge's topic in National news
Giving the line of posts being written can you please step back a bit away from the game ? Just a bit. Please. We all appreciate. More so the many Belgian citizens that surely play this game in ALL the Naval Action Nations. -
What ive learned about Master & Commander movie
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Mrdoomed's topic in Tavern
- there are no time wasting activities other than what the Admiralty Service requires. No sightseeing around, no messing with bugs. Find the enemy and open a battle instance. All the rest is secondary. -
newbie question
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to jnovotny6's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
Salute. I suggest you put aside all conventions and test thoroughly all ships and respective different guns setups. Nevermind the XP. Trying out all ships in many different scenarios and gun configurations and you will develop your own fighting style and learn a lot about the ships you will be facing. Plus you will keep some of the lower rates with you forever
