  1. Immersion and simulation 1st person on deck only. Career based mode, 1 ship, 1 captain. Not a fleet. You know, that kind of thing. Lots of fluff immersion with crutch simulation. Earning of ranks, not winning of ranks, pair with visceral simulation as being in command of a vessel in the age of sail. Alas... must sandbox my own game to fit and endure what we are offered. Which is extremely good or else i wouldn't play it.
  2. Wow... 😮 Is as much content as land in battles. Let me tell you another - Hunt missions ( can be done with pvp combat ) - Search & Destroy missions ( can be done with pvp combat ) - Trade / Delivery missions ( testbed ) I mean... You are totally focused on wishful thinking and not on what the devs decided to do ( it is their project after all, not ours, we just have good chats with them here in the forum ). But I totally get you. I also have my perfect idea of what NA should be...
  3. Wow... okay man. You fail to see. Thanks for being honest. From 2018 ? Absolutely. Broadside weight, being tested in testbed server right now.
  4. i'll tell you 3 without even looking 1 - outposts 2 - production buildings 3 - clan wars ( port ownage ) Tell me they aren't in game and that everything is based on sailing and contracts to buy npc produce and trade. 😎 Tell me that a Nation can participate entirely in Conquest... oh wait... clan friends ( demolished by alt clans if you dig deep enough ) But hey... nope, nothing we suggest has ever been implemented.
  5. Plenty of them Start reading from 2014 and take note of everything suggested that is in game or that was tested at any point during development. Might be a better mental exercise than simply writing something pulled out of a morning without coffee. A hard thing is, to see one's idea that looked good on paper but that didn't work in action. And in that regard it seems many didn't notice or refuse to accept their suggestions didn't work. But yeah, go check almost everything suggested and all the patch notes since the start before you post something like that. No disrespect meant sir, just pure truth against a void comment.
  6. I love fluff with solid crutch. Also love the models. But i'm easy and I hate metas.
  7. Edited the post a bit. Might make sense for some. Thing is.... each game is what each game is. And not all games are for everyone, obviously. But, Naval Action being in a laboratory state and under development, means the devs can do whatever they see fit with ALL the testing we have done so far. Never ever ever look to any present state as final. Only on Release we might say, okay, this is it. And even then many games change.
  8. Man, that's a million individual answers question and I'll try to look it from a hobby perspective, which it is. Can't possibly cover them all. For some the chain of combat after combat is simply what is needed, without any ulterior motivation other than... that fight. One fight ends, another starts. Their expectations meet immediate and as fast as possible get into combat. These are the guys that play the games for the game, not the models. They go for what it works and what wins. IF NA would be a tabletop tournament they would be scouring for "winning army lists" and no matter what, that's what they take. They would love an Arena mode. For others is the string of events, what did result from winning or losing that particular combat. Like a branch campaign. They love writing lore for their captains, for the ships. They would love a Career based mode. For others can be simply a way to enjoy the models and how cool they move and the smoke and the sparkles. These are the guys that love the "fluff" above the "crutch", to put it in a tabletop sense. The game is great if it is backed up by a rich lore. They essentially can enjoy the open seas but don't see them trapped in an arena. Then you have the entire sect that wants nothing to do with "violent" encounters and simply wants to do "peaceful tasks" that at the same time have the same elegant feeling that the combat aficionados desire. A chain of trade, without any motivation other than each day a new route. Each trip a new small fortume. Completely uninterested by all the rest. Others wish to see their trade or crafting as a strong supporter of the ongoing campaign. Like they would be the ground crew in a flight simulator, the unseen guys that keep the aces flying. And to end, the guys that just dig the models and the sailing around.
  9. They will be good scouts and keep their niche as excellent trade raiders, even faced with Indiamans. While a Endymion seems like a better choice - and it is indeed way more lethal - not everyone plays for meta. Unrated vessels are a niche since long ago
  10. Sea trials did indeed give that shock and awe feeling, cannot deny that. Funny i was more interested on the sailing than the combat during a while. And always got that feeling... "why can't I sail beyond the horizon... !?.... " Was a good testing ground.
  11. "Why am I a pirate ? I was a brit ?!... " "you naughty naughty .... you did attack a friendly didn't ya !?"
  12. Fair request, but those little fleets of 2 and 3 can be tackled with a game friend.
  13. 😄 dead on right. Funny how things work different in every game... cc
  14. Oh boy... Selected Brit and Kingston start port. Pressed M... nothing happened...thought to myself, well, need a map for the captain. Before community made some spectacular ones ( Siegfried's, Prater's, etc ) ... but was a good reason to explore. Sailed out and went to explore the land. Passed the Port Royal sand bar and turned East... ended up Circumventing Jamaica island and returned to Kingston. Did not engage anything, was just enjoying the open world sailing. ( was old land model, travel speed, etc, so a lot different from today ) It never stopped since then... still going...still strong.
  15. Then, with player migrations, the "most populated" are transformed into the "less populated" thus granting free transfers all the time ( in theory ) making the purchased DLC obsolete.
  16. Let's chill with the "cultural and RL nation" bullshit ! Games serve to bring people together. To bring people from everywhere to a single place where they can have fun, together. ( I wrote the word people, not the word players. ) Behave all of you.
  17. Bishops, Knights, and Rooks 😁 ( @jodgi )
  18. Maybe try it with the strongest hardcore nation first rather than the weakest ? Dunno... just an idea. Plus yeah "server didn't like it" means absolutely nothing and if other nations don't like it, then they go on the path of war themselves. oh my... the meta problems are bigger than the metas.... my head hurts...
